What should my next mule vs horse video be about?!
Which one tastes the best? J/K
Pulling contest from the saddle horn with the same drag weight for the best time over a given distance.
Pulling cattle around
Endurance
Broncs And Donks roping
When I was a kid, my grandfather had an 18-hand (giant) mule...stubbornest creature that ever walked the planet...but when he had the 'proper motivation', he could pull a double bottom plow in hard scrabble better than a team of belgian draft horses...BY HIMSELF!
Mule vs horse jumping, maybe!!
Great idea!
Horrible idea, never jump in a western saddle that’s just stupid
Siverpaw67 :3 your idea of jumping isn’t a western riders idea of jumping
Western riders jump very little and only when necessary i guess you haven’t watched any of his old video when he jumps ditches huh? Yeaaaa didn’t think so.
Siverpaw67 :3 they could do it bareback😂
Or just wear English saddles ....🤷♀️🤦♀️
Mule vs. horse barrel racing!
Heck ya👍
❤️
Katie Canter He is just testing in wich the mule wins and wich the horse wins
If your mule is just as tall as the horse, I say they're even in speed comparison. You might wanna make a video comparing their endurance on a long distance running and comparing their pulling strength.
The place that I got my QH mule had a 17 hand thoroughbred mule. That sucker could walk over fences and run!
You were both disqualified for losing your hats, sorry boys.
Lol
Lmao
Chyenne Conley ...😂😂😂🧡🧡🧡
Looooool
Wow I figured the horse would win but it was much closer than I expected! Especially considering the mule is a trail animal
Horse vs mule which one picks up more chicks during the 4th of July parade.
J Bar j J ....good one, 😂
A mule is just a cross of a donkey and a horse
Each mule.will be different depending on what kind of mare they are breed with. It would be like comparing apples to oranges.
scott chadwick tbf he did say the mule was bred half quarter horse... the same as the horse
harry mcleodd ... I was rooting for mule, but thanks for the info. I didn’t pick up on that. It’s great fun watching these videos 💜💙💛
Looks like the mule has better acceleration, first few steps were faster. Maybe even closer to the horse if he was run regularly
Wow I was impressed. I didn't think he would be nearly that close. Good job.
Wow that is one spunky mule! I don't think I've ever even seen a mule gallop. It looked like a nice steady straight ride. You could train that mule to race and it would kick ass haha!
Lol, wonder if it truly could kick ass...as in beat a donkey?
I went on an overseas holiday to Yosemite NP & went on the ride up into the hills with the tour guide. Us average Joe's were on mules & the guide on a horse. I figured then that mules must be the more predictable & safest for the inexperienced tourists. I have to say the ride was fantastic & within a short time you knew you could trust the 'steady as she goes mule'.
I love this series! It's really helped me understand the capabilities of mules.
As for suggestions for where to take the series next, as you asked for, I hear that mules can be more hesitant to obey when they're unsure of the safety. I think this is a good trait most of the time, especially for inexperienced riders, but it can mean that when crossing a body of water a rider may have to dismount and go into the water, trying to coax and prove to the mule that it's safe. Maybe there's some way to demonstrate this? Perhaps you could go to an area with a bunch of shallow rivers and streams to cross, to find a situation where the horse is willing and the mule is not. Then you could show what it takes to convince a hesitant mule to proceed when you know it's safe, or you have an urgent need to proceed, but the mule is reluctant.
It's my understanding that mules can't be pushed along outside of their comfort zone as horses can, and that this is one of the most common reasons people will choose horses over mules. Some people aren't willing to accept the possibility of their mount refusing to do what they want. I'm willing to live with it, but if I was a mule rider I expect there probably would come a time where my mule and I are at odds over something and there isn't an easy solution. If there's no other way forward, I might have to go back.
I'm actually surprised that the mule did so well. The hats flying, though... precious :D
Last year we had to pull the rear of a trailer out of a snowditch. See which one can pull harder in pairs! Keep the videos comin boys!
Wonderful to the point video with great info. Thanks!
Oh my gosh! I think it would be so cool if you guys got some English tack and did some cross country jumping or stadium jumping! I would really like to see how a mule would handle that!
I just got my first mule and she is amazing! From now on I have to have a mule and my horse!
Which is smarter. Problem solving test.
That's like trying to compare human intelligence. It depends on the individual. I've had some experience with Einsteins and some special needs types in both species.
@@wyominghorseman9172 its not a good horse if it dosnt do math
I've had horse's and I've had Mules give me a Mule anytime over a horse for trails or plan Riding
I agree!!
Watched a few videos and now I’m hooked 😂😂
And subscribed
Awesome 👍
Good video. You look almost as good as me on that mule😜
I love you so much I wacht all of your videos all of your videos so
Cleverness maybe? Like give them little tests like the dog ones
That's a good one!! I like that idea.
Tell them to make a rocket ship
Good video keep filming!
Lol the hat flying off tho 😂
I would looooove to try this just bareback cuz it's sooo fun running bareback!!
Please stay safe, dear lady.
@@craiga2002 safe?? Is my middle name, actoully lol it's the farthest from safe😂
Thank you! I've been thinking about getting a daily driver equine and you just answered my question about whether to go for a mule vs a pony. A horse was out of the question no matter what as I live in suburbia and have no experience with horses. This adventure is probably still a few years away though.
I love how he litterally just said the horse was a rodeo horse vs. A mule...who's not in running shape. Like? Pfft, easy win for the horse. Not saying if the mule was in shape he could win, but it would give him better odds.
horses do have more forward power, but even on ur channel we have seen mules outpower/outrun some of the horses so it really does just come down to the individual, overall pretty equal
The mule is strong and he has a big patience
Was that a quarter of a mile track just curious you guys kick ass love your videos🤠
What's a good cross mare to get best possible mule for logging &some trail / farm riding? Thanks for video-
Thanks from Texas.
i'd like to see how you start on the ground with your mule colts before they are old enough to ride, ie any round pen work building under standing, trust & teaching them to be caught w/out grain like out in a 60 acre pasture. that was part of my program with horses. I do like your mules. Good subjects you 've covered that I've seen so far. what state are you in? Sarah Coleman - califonja
awesome video
What if you compared a racing bred mule in racing condition to a racing bred horse in racing condition? Meredith Hodges, Charlie Brown's creator's daughter, breeds mules from racetrack TB mares.
No way, she just returned my email the other day asking a question about an ill horse. She included all this info about reconditioning him slowly to carry weight again after he recovers, and diet, and everything (she is a firm believer in oats.) I have heard of her a long time but had no idea that is Charles Shultz's daughter?!
Lol your channel name is great.
Thanks!
unfair challenge if the mule wasn't running before hand.. he doesn't know how to stretch out.. Mules are fast i bet he would win if he was conditioned for running..
Dont you thought about Barrel Race ?
No doubt you have fine mules but at the end of the day there half horse but still love your videos man keep up the good work
If that mule would have been legged up for this race Probably would have tied. I’m surprised!! I want a mule. Nothin against my mustang😀
Beautiful mule. 👍❤️
How about how you start your mules in training. Ground work? Dealing with problems. There is 15 to 1 horse training videos to mule training...your thoughts.
Mules have a good sense of humour :-)
Wow but if the horse and mule were in the same shape you may have had a surprise there. That mule travelled!
I have a fast mule i would like to race! Nice video
That’s hat’s off fast!🐎- ---🐎---✨
Acompanhado do Brasil 🇧🇷
What are their names? I'm curious
Please next video which is stronger carrying weight
I am impressed on the mule just a first time viewer
I vote for mules! And I am planing to have one in the next 3 years
You ever get one?
I live in central Manitoba and the winter lasts for over 5 months and are extreme, how do mules fair compared with a horse in the cold?
In the last video on a mountain one should keep in mind the training given to horse all his life than to a mule(a wild horse would make a better comparison than a trained one with all the advantages given on terrain while training) secondly it is always hard for horses to walk or run with horse shoes than a natural mule foot on roads and hard surfaces. Just a point to be noted cuz obviously slipping issues are more with horse shoes.
Do u do this w Mule vs (diff types of horses) or is it mostly Quarter?
Freaking sweet content my man.
We have 2500 acres up in grouse creek utah. With a mountain allotment and 5 center pivots.
I didn't grow up doing this stuff so me running the ranch with 130 head of Angus with 1 old ranch horse and a border collie has been quite the uphill climb..
Me watching those 3 cows lay down on you made my gut drop.
I wasn't expecting them to get back up and follow the herd, I learned something for sure.
I am gonna be turning out 60 head on a big big mountain allotment and am really nervous. Might have to pay you guys to come teach me the secrets of.mountain riding! Love the content man keep it up
Sounds like you have a pretty cool operation going! All you are missing is a good mule. Lol. Let's film a video of your cattle heading up the trail!
@@BroncsAndDonks I'm game bro! We got hit by a hard fire so we can't turn out till next year. I will keep you posted and would seriously pay you boys to come help. Might need to buy me one of your mules!!! :))
My quarab gelding is in love with mukes. Grandpa kept them back in Wyoming but i dont know a thing about mules. I would like to see why my horse loves them so much? Any ideas?
30 mph??? I’m impressed with the mule. And it’s not even a cross using the Mixteca donkey which is tall and elegant
The US Army used mules to haul equipment up the sides of mountains in Italy in WW2. The Special Forces still use mules for hauling up in the mountains. The US Cavarly in the Southwest used mule teams to haul wagons of supplies in the flat areas for the cavalry horses. Scouts went into the mountains. But the mule teams with wagons kept the cavalry in the fight on long patrols. Generally, speaking the most important men for the cavalry were the teamsters who drove the mule teams with their wagons. I guess I have only though of mules as work animals pulling wagons in teams. I guess you could ride a mule but the endurance and stamina of the mule made them best for teamsters and wagons. The cavalry always rode horses and not mules. But I guess you could have rode a mule and done pretty well in the 19th century.
0:47 why is he flapping his arms like a bird? does he know how to make an animal run? 😂
Which kicks harder? Horse or Mule? Take one for the team bud. :P Kiddin great video!
Lol I'm not that desperate for views... Yet! Thanks man 👍
Good job little mule! Soooooo cute! 😍😭
My big mule Gomer is a really fast mule and I haven't been best by a horse yet. My mule Walked and Trudy are pretty fast too but horses do best them. When it comes to trails my mules are always looking good at the end of a 8-10 your ride and there are times when I see horses colic and barely make it in. Most the time though the horses make it just fine but they are never as fresh as old Gome.
The way the mule runs makes me think of a tb vs a qh, and the tb in short spirts may loose but then they just pick up that speed in a few big long strides and pick up pass and pass the qh.
Ok I have an idea. Which animal will bray first if you tickle them
Mule VS horse cross country!! I dunno?
I really enjoy your videos! thanks for sharing. I just wish you would wear your seatbelt.
Just curious can you ride a donkey like horse and mule? How much weight a donkey can carry on its back please inform

Mule VS horse endurance! I really wanna know if mules are good at endurance rides!
Sounds like a great idea to me!
They don't beat the best Arabians for endurance rides but mules hold up really well
@@KathrynHaslam Is that because it is also a speed race as well as distance?
@@KKIcons yes they are very long, hard rides but still won by whoever can do it fastest

Mule vs horse on cow sense, which does better cutting and moving cattle
What about wild boar roping.
If any of you happen to be jumpers would love to see them try a course and see who is more accurate, or even just free jumping to see which goes higher 🥰
Brasil mula vs american horse nice video bro 👍👊👊
hyaa mule!!! give em a rematch!! 😆🏇
How about endurance over a longer distance on the track?
Nice
I've never seen anything stronger or braver than the mule!
Nice job, horse 👍
A mule is more useful overall, but I'm glad the horse maintains the edge on its main purpose: to run fast
Yes, Jumping could be interesting:)
Game of Scrabble
It was like racing 4x4 truck against a Formula One car
Compare the two pulling a plow!
I love mules they’re sturdier and more sure footed than horses, not to mention loyal and clever if you find the right way to motivate them to do what you want
Can you do Mule vs hinny ?
That depends on the horse breed and other factors.
Crazy cool
Fun stuff. Each animal has its strong points. Sprinting hard, turning fast, etc., is the horses' game. Disclosure: I've never ridden a mule. However, I watched the mules at Bishop Mule Days doing some western performance events, and they were good, game mounts, but no match for my bred quarter horse working cowhorses or reiners. They don't appear to have the muscle mass and conformation to allow them to break hard at the L/S joint, deeply coil in the loin, lift their spine, elevate their shoulders and burst/pivot quite like a horse. However, if we were headed to the high country, I'd be thinking about those gritty mules you guys ride. I've ridden my quarter horses in rough country in the Sierras too, but I do hear people I respect speak highly of the mules working in the tall trees. It's also obvious that for ranch work, some of those mules you guys ride work quite well.
But.... Well that's just it. Quarter horse is all butt. 😂 Got some go in those hindquarters!
Binging your vids.... Lol just in case you see a lot of comments!!
How many MPH can a quarter horse run for short distances?
Well the only fair comparison would be a mule bred to the mare of the same horse breed that you're comparing with the mule
But the smaller mule still did a great job against the horse!
@Gi Gi True. Though like they said, he's not in running shape. He could probably do even better after some exercise.
@Gi Gi Probably, though donkeys were never known for their swiftness, so it's probably the mare that decides most of those traits in a mule. Though to be fair, that mule's breed was less of an issue than its current physical specialization, which can be trained and improved with exercise. To be fair, the mule could still accelerate to 30 mph in gallop, which is goddamn impressive if I do say so. Given by how little the mule lost to that horse, I think it may have even had a shot at beating the horse if it had been trained for sprinting.
