South Point is the only hotel we stay at when we visit Las Vegas. Sign up for the Players Card, we use it all the time and our rooms are comped even though we are far from being high rollers. They also have free valet parking, not too many hotels in Vegas offer that.

We love South Point!! We have stayed there 3 times and are coming this month. My husband is a bowler and they host the National Open Championship in house. It's really convenient to have bowling within the hotel! We bring our two teenage girls, who love the pool and movie theater. The restaurants are all great! Security is never an issue! We feel very safe and there is tons to do.

I love staying at South Point. It's so much more relaxing away from the busy hustle and bustle of the strip or downtown. I do love the strip and downtown, but sometimes I just want to relax after a day spent on the strip and downtown. Another great thing about South Point is that they have a free airport shuttle for their guests. Your so right about their restaurants being really good for very reasonable prices. My favorite is their steak house. It's so nice and really delish. Thanks for a really good look at South Point. It made me that much more excited about staying there next month.

I really like Southpoint’s gambling floor as well as their hotel rooms. I normally stay in the king suite and it’s so huge. You’re correct they keep it very pristine there for the type of decor they have. Also to know there’s two bowling centers there one is mainly for tournaments but it’s huge in gorgeous. The Coronado is actually one of my favorite late night eats the service and the food is amazing.

I met the Rubys while they were filming this in during Champagne Brunch at the Garden Buffet. I agree SP is very worth the price. It has a local feel and is way off the Strip. Located at the end of the city so really think about what kind of experience your want. It’s located near a quiet neighborhood. I’ve been here twice for work conventions. The coupon book is a definite need. Ask for it if the front desk forgets. Note about the slippers: They are plush but smaller and don’t fit my size 12 feet.
Mr Ruby: Thanks for recommending the Circa Sportsbook for NFL playoff watching the seat prices were worth the hours of fun.

I love and have loved the southpoint for 15 years, I'm in my mid 40's now not a senior citizen. 🤣 I started going when my kids hit their teens, they loved the food, bowling, arcade, movie theater and pools. We could go play and drink and the kids did their thing and we got to do ours. Not a huge party scene, but relaxed atmosphere.

As a local who plays slots only, I've found the payback at South Point to be about the same as the Strip. I wish it paid better than the Strip, but my experience after almost fifty visits is that it doesn't. I prefer playing slots at the Wynn just because they have a special free play promotion for local residents only.
If you're aged 50 or over, on Mondays you can use your player's club points to pay for meals with only 50% points needed. This is a really good deal.

As a former local SP was my go-to for steak and eggs 12am -5am (if I remember correctly) for $4.99 and it is NY strip, and also like their sports book. Playing Video poker at SP never had any luck though. Visiting in June and planning on trying the Wynn buffet, might have to check out the high limit slots at the Wynn. thanks

South Point has TWO bowling alleys. The regular one, as well as a professional only stadium style bowling alley out by the arena. The bowling tournament they have yearly is the largest in the world, with over 50,000 bowlers It lasts several months, results in 30,000 room nights booked, and is responsible for something like 13 percent of South Point's annual revenue. Yes I work there. Lol

Great info from a proud employee. That said, why does the casino floor smell like a giant ashtray? it's really difficult to play slots/table games for more than 30 minutes, on busy days it's almost unbearable. Yes, some gamblers smoke, but not all do, the demographics are changing so should the Southpoint/Gaughan Gaming. Similarly designed casinos like Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast have similar air quality problems. Pathetic that this is still an issue for casino employees and non smokers in 2022.

Stayed at Southpoint for a conference. Not sure what to expect that far off strip, but pleasantly surprised. That deli just off the sport book had amazing desserts. Good coupon book. Used it daily. Uber worked out just fine for transportation. Free airport shuttle a plus. Really enjoyed the casino, theater, bowling alley, my room and the pool area. Nice family vibe to it.

My wife and I used to go to the South Point every year for the Glass Craft and Bead Expo (end of March/Beginning of April) (My wife was a fantastic glass artist). Anyway, we loved this hotel. For all the reasons you mentioned and also because you're not bombarded by the craziness of the strip. (though it's close enough you can still easily drive up to the strip if you like wading through the crowds and hucksters). I totally recommend South Point!

I work at a casino in Iowa and my coworkers stays there every time he goes to Vegas. He goes for a bowling tournament and it’s held there. He tells me that while it’s rather expensive compared to other hotels in Vegas, it is more than worth the money based on the amenities alone. I’ve never stayed there but I’m going to Vegas in a couple weeks for G2E and I hope to make a stop there!

Kinda random, but the Starbucks inside that hotel doesn't charge for water. Starbucks inside of hotels on the strip charge $2 (maybe 1.50, I don't remember) for their large. Which sucks, but is cheaper than buying bottled water, esp because it comes with ice.
The only downside to the casino floor is that they do allow smoking so it can get pretty stinky in there, esp if you aren't a smoker.

Love you Ruby. We stayed at the South Point for our sons cornhole tournament. Loved Silverado and Don Vitos. Really great quality dining. We were here in July - it was 110 out. But the pool was inexplicably freezing cold. Other than that, a great stay.

As someone who has been a local of Vegas for a decade and who primary plays bingo and nickel slots only, this is my favorite hotel with a bingo hall. Since I moved out of Vegas this hotel has the best rooms compared to others that are off the strip or Fremont. Which is the hotels I like staying at, id highly recommend staying away from the strip or Fremont because they are much less hectic, that's why a majority of locals only go to casinos like it. Sam's town and sun coast are also hotels I frequent as well

Wow, I’m impressed. I thought it might be another Station type casino but this video peaks my interest in going for the South Point 400 package. My wife and I are considering the trip in October.
Let me know if you two are going to be there,,,, I can talk cars with Mr. Ruby for hours.

I enjoyed seeing them video you two. I know people who are VERY loyal to SP for various reasons like comps and they like the casino there, and basically go once a month, and now I see why. Haven’t been yet myself but I’d definitely consider it if I want to get off the strip.

We love South Point. Everything is reasonably priced compared to the strip; the rooms are big and comfortable; service is very good. Good odds on video poker and 3/2 blackjack. You didn't even show their sports book which IMO is the best in LV... thanks for posting another great video Ruby!

Our flight out of Vegas was delayed by a day and the Airline put us up at South Point for the night (March 1st this year). We were impressed. Great room, nice dining options, 3/2 blackjack. Interestingly, we loved the shower, so I think it was a problem with your room. We were on the 2nd floor though, so maybe the water pressure is a problem on the higher floors.

I've stayed there many times, usually on upper floors. Never a problem like that, so I think they just had a freaky shower.

We stayed on the 11th floor in the end of February and our shower made a God-awful noise, turned out it was the tub diverter not going up all the way, so I just pushed it up and then all was fine. It sounded just like in this video. I loved the room, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was nice and hot! Our room overlooked the pool which I liked. Best video poker in Vegas according to many, lots of locals and pros play VP there.

Southpoint has a lot of playable video poker and a great selection of slots. The spa at Southpoint is great. My favorite place to eat at Southpoint is Del Mar deli. Amazing desserts and great deli sandwiches. Southpoint is a solid choice for gamblers and is very complete for food and other activities. We even got to see Charlie Murphy there in the theater before he died.
