Thanks again for this guide! I was able to do the easier gap jump in an actual race recently. Cave mushroom annoyances aside, I still enjoy this track.
I used to like this track in the original MKWii and in the MK7 version, but here is a really frustrating track because of all those superbounce tricks. Really, thank you for all your effort breaking down this nightmare of a track.
And once again thank *you* for taking the time to make this video! 👍🏻 I'm 100% sure that I didn't set a better time than you. 😄 The route is a challenge to *my* previous driving skills. But I'll leave a comment once I've done it. TEAM : I-hate-bouncy-cushions
I thought this one would be your nightmare given how often you say that you hate bounce pads lol. But you didn't sound that mad lmao, thanks for the content !
Hats off to you for setting a very impressive record on such a bull s### course! I'm pretty sure that my record is nowhere close to what you set; especially when considering I gave up even attempting the easier version of that gap jump near the end after a few tries. I tortured myself enough with trying to set a record on this course without unintentionally missing any tricks off those goddamn mushrooms! The timing with tricking in this level is f###-ing sadistic! And that's really a problem for someone like me who is obsessed with trying to be as consistent as possible during every lap while time trialing. There were two particular tricks I had to forego entirely in this course because of how uncooperative they were with letting me trick off. You know those two mushrooms at the beginning that serve as a shortcut to the curving bridge? I had to skip tricking off the first of those two. The other part I had to forego tricking was that boost ramp inside the cave that leads into that split path of mushrooms. The fact I was able to set a record where I was consistent with every trick that I intended is good enough, because really, this course can go f### itself! I really hope that Nintendo doesn't decide to bring any other courses with so many successive bounce pads in Waves Five and Six!
I was actually able to do the gap jump online on my very first race. Never able to pull it off since until I started time trial. I find it that neutral drifting into the gap is more consistent for some reason
Nope. Not faster than the time you posted here, and this video came out before the Wave 4 stat changes while my time was obtained about 3 and a half days ago (as of the time of this comment). Probably won't be getting a faster time than what I have right now, either... unless I want to completely obliterate my thumbs for the complex drift, hop, Super Bounce strats. Considering my left thumb is still not back how it was before I attempted the Grumble Volcano strats [though a lot of that might just be me re-aggravating the thumbprint by continuing to time trial several courses 😆 (I wanted the Roygasm emote here, but my gifted membership must've recently expired, as I had it less than 2 days ago, so I had to settle for the basic laughing emote)], I'm very much happy with my 1:36.633 (which I achieved by using a build I have taken to calling "Indigestion"), so I'm just commenting for the algorithm in hopes that it helps future viewers get here.
Your getting really good at making the videos short but it kinda sucks because I love your vids Edit - Not coming off rude sounds like it reading it again
Do you know if doing the no-items shortcut on lap 1 saves any time? I can do it pretty consistently and my PB has it on all 3 laps, but it's hard to tell if it's helping at all :/
Yeah don't bother with it on lap 1. Coins are really important and it's essential to go the normal route on lap 1 instead. I always check out the WR's anyway for ideas
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding, so, just to clarify: at 0:35, you say to do a left drift off the orange boost ramp…but you appear to be doing a right drift (?). Also, at 4:18, you mention that the WRPB does a right hop into a left drift…but it seems to be a right hop into a right drift. (?) Just wanna make sure I’m groking left/right drifts correctly bc I’m confused by these portions. Thanks as always for the vid splainer!
I was on track for a 1 :38.5 and then I missed a mushroom in the cave and then also missed the gap jump costing me 4.5 seconds putting kr just a second slower than my pb at the time. Still a Lil bit salty
I totally understand your rant about the green mushrooms. This track is super fun in my opinion, but these dumb mushrooms are super inconsistent, which is really annoying. And not even just the green ones, sometimes I get a drift off of the first red mushroom, instead of a trick, even though my timing wasn't that bad. The mushrooms just feel weird in this game, they were way better in MKWii. I hope Nintendo does something to fix this, I mean, why are the mushrooms way more janky in this game, than in an older game? It doesn't make sense
I hate this f**king course. However i am determined to get somewhere within 5 seconds of the current world record. This one and Mario Kart Stadium will be challenging but the rest should be kinda easy
5 seconds is pretty hard on some courses. Wario Stadium and DK Jungle come to mind, this one’s not so bad as long as you get the super bounces and the gap jump
So I'm not advanced enough for super bounces yet, I'm mostly running through the cave section as intended. Therefore my biggest gripe with it is that the boost pad at the beginning of the cave is SO INCONSISTENT with getting the trick. It's like that one spot in Bowser's Castle I think, doesn't matter if I shake like a madman, I get the trick like 40% of the time, if that. And with my method that's so detrimental because it makes the difference between getting to the first green mushroom or not. Otherwise I personally would love running this track, but I was able to get within 10 seconds of the world record so until that lowers again I'm satisfied lol.
so about the green mushrooms: I realised that by tricking later than usual I always get the trick, you really just have to trick much later than you think you should. The physics make no sense but once I started doing that I got the trick on the green mushrooms 100%

After watching this video, I managed to get a 1:31.673. thanks!
@The G no one asked
@@Zack207 bayesic did though! In the video he said "let me know what your times were"

Great video as always!

Seems like you forgot to link the video
I always do lol... thanks will take care of it now

Surprisingly enough the bounce pads are the LEAST infuriating part of the run lol
Great video! I can’t wait for more dlc tutorials! This is definitely my favorite 200cc track so I’m looking forward to the 200cc tutorial
thank you for the work
Definitely my favourite track of Wave 2

I'll give this a go probably on the weekend and let you know how it goes!
Thank godddd I seriously can’t get that jump consistently
Let's jump into fences after missing 2-3 super bounces - the course
For real tho
Huge!

Definitely trying to learn to get to the point as quickly as possible haha

No because you miss some coins
Yeah don't bother with it on lap 1. Coins are really important and it's essential to go the normal route on lap 1 instead. I always check out the WR's anyway for ideas
if you're time trialing then no but if you are practicing for online then yes

You’re probably right, I don’t know why I always mix that up. You’d be amazed at how many times I really edit my videos for things like that
PB is 1:16:668 on 200cc. Cannot do the gap jump on 150cc. Maybe it’s my build? Or it’s because I’m a new player. Using Mr Scooty with a heavy build.
Use waluigi.

what is a super bounce
Mini turbo and trick at the same time off of a bounce pad
I have a 1:31.2 and want to get into the 1:30.5 range eventually

yea no idea... it really sucks though
"if you got a faster time than I did in this video."
Ha. Hahahaha. Ha. No. No I did not get a faster time than you.
You have a weird way of pronouncing Mushroom George, but the video is great as usual :)
After 2 hours of getting angry at the inconsistent bounces I'm done. This map is sheit.
Yeah it's really not fun to TT

Did you ever find a way to do it consistently? I have the same problem.
me to😀😀
Some courses just aren’t meant to be enjoyed by MLGimg them I guess
Omg this is the track I needed it's sooo hard
so about the green mushrooms: I realised that by tricking later than usual I always get the trick, you really just have to trick much later than you think you should. The physics make no sense but once I started doing that I got the trick on the green mushrooms 100%
Do the different color mushrooms do different things?
I hate this track o.0 !!! Nevertheless will keep trying
