This was a great conversion, 2 player as well. I always liked the way the flamethrower turned the bosses completely white when it hit so you knew you were doing serious damage :)
@@superturbo2 I consider this game Contra more than Super C even though Super C is literally Contra on Amiga. The same goes for the Sega Genesis version of Contra, this game is more contra like on that console than the actual version of Contra released for it.

Are you actually on earth then? It's odd that earth is in the background on the last stage and then you go up a ladder and your family are all there with the sun in the background.
Actually this is better than the genesis version even though some stages enemy layout is change but becos having a two coop player is sufficient to neutralize the genesis in additon having voices.
@@wongyc5585 I'd agree to disagree as I don't like the colour palette on this one and I like the controls on the genesis version better as you could lock your fire in one direction. I love both versions though. This is the one I played first.
I like the music in the amiga version... kind of more "edgy" ^^; mega drive version has slightly better graphics and a bit better sound effects though...

Such a meh port of a great game. Amiga had so very few decent arcade ports. :/ But at least it's better than Outrun, or Bionic Commando on the Amiga I suppose.
This is near one of the best examples of arcade ports to the Amiga. If this is meh , your not going to find much love on the Amiga. This is as good as it gets. Which I think is pretty good .
This game has just entered my head after many many years. Love the first stage theme. Nostalgic as heck.
This was a great conversion, 2 player as well. I always liked the way the flamethrower turned the bosses completely white when it hit so you knew you were doing serious damage :)
This is the best run and gun game on Amiga. It is the closest to Contra we get.
Turrican 2
More fun than contra imo!
Not really, Super C is Contra on the Amiga even though it's crap.

One of the greatest soundtracks ever !!!!!!!!!!!
I agree, but I just don't know why the Amiga version of that soundtrack sounds like they were done on panpipes.

Never saw the arcade game until years after it came out. Always played the amiga version and found it relaxing.
I played it countless times on my Amiga 600, 2 player mode was amazing, one got the flame thrower and one got the 3way
Played this tirelessly with my cousin, but were never able to finish it on the count of being to young. Always wondered how the game ended. Thnx for the upload.
I remember if you don’t have enough keys before the last stage to save your family they appear as shooting stars at the end presumably they die.
I knew this game was a gem from the opening theme. Thanks, cocaine!
The music was amazing in this game.
I always hated when games could not use both sfx and music at the same time.
me too^^
Because programmers didnt know the Tricks. If you Look at Turrican 2 you see its possible even with the Fake 8 voice tech.
Yeah man! Look at Turrican 2!

Overall Data East is awesome..

I grew up on the Amiga version of this game. Unlike with Golden Axe, I like the Amiga version of this game's music the best.
Loved this, but had forgotten all about it until now.
9:09 - sounds like the music from Space Harrier
10:10 - sounds like the beginning of the music from the first stage of The Revenge of Shinobi

Amiga had top notch sound, for music like this. I just wish there was more sound channels so we didn't have to choose sfx or music.
Massive amounts of nostalgia! I never made it past the spinning saws boss... I blame the crappy joystick! 😉
Always loved this game, on any platform. Those guys in the intro must be kamikrazy, running into the vehicle like that.
Definitely a decent port and great action game
I played this heaps back in the day . Using keys to unlock family members at the end was creepy as hell
Never got very far on this as a kid at the time, hours of fun, and yet completed in about 20mins
Great game from my childhood!
The sound, when killing the soldiers: BUP! xD
@16:11 'WE HAVE YOUR FAMILY!"
Dude, I know... That's why I'm here 🤣
best music all times
Nice but hard game. Awesome soundtrack.
Best Contra clone...loved it on Amiga in 1990.
Played this with my best friend every Saturday morning when we were kids, we called the flame thrower a chainsaw and we made up lyrics to the music.
Several people say they rather play the Arcade version. Of course you would, who wouldn't? The Arcade versions are pretty much always better than any of the ports those games have gotten.
I always liked to think that the score pick-ups were lollypops.
90% is the soundtrack!
At the end I only saved one of the family members and that closing scene looked so funny.
and honestly when it comes to midnight resistance. I prefer either the arcade or the Genesis version
The Genesis version seems to be the best port.
yeah but it wasnt ported from X6800 like this one is Atari ST game
It’s not a 100% the same as the ST. It at least used the blitter. Runs quite a bit quicker than the ST version.
Graphic assets are the same though.
05:31 how do I know this music when I have't played this game? It has a strong Contra feel
The only game i enjoyed playing together with my bigger brother...all other times we just fought with each other over who plays on the amiga
Thank you for uploading :)

I'm surprised, this version actually looks good. And our hero, middle fingering the sun because why not, hate sunny days 21:30. LOL

Horrible graphics - but to be fair, everything moves perfectly smoothly and it plays very well.

Definitely an Atari ST port with smoother scrolling. Which isn't a bad thing, it's still a very good effort.
Too bad the Atari ST version was released 1 year after the Amiga one...
Not really. They were released the same year in the summer of 1990. I remember both being in the shops at the same time.
Is this the actual music from the game?
Yes
Are you actually on earth then? It's odd that earth is in the background on the last stage and then you go up a ladder and your family are all there with the sun in the background.
