Before watching this video, I wasn't even aware about a war that's happening in Yemen. Thank you JRE, your podcast allows people to learn about issues that the mainstream media won't even bother showing. Edit : Seems like a lot of people took it the wrong way. I don't think not knowing about such things is a bad thing, I genuinely wasn't aware cause I don't stay on social media, I'm busy running my own businesses. I was living and working in Oman when the Saudi military started attacking Yemen in 2014. The Omani government authorised an evacuation of wounded civilians in Sana'a, many of whom were brought to the national hospital on the campus where I worked (Sultan Qaboos University Hospital). I was teaching a course to Omani hospital employees in spring of 2015, and I will never forget one of the female employees coming into my class late and crying hysterically. She had seen an 8-year-old Yemeni boy at our hospital with half of his face blown off... by weapons supplied by the US to Saudi Arabia. She was so upset and overwhelmed, she could not even express herself in English. One of her classmates, a male employee, translated to me from Arabic to explain what she was crying about. I remember excusing myself from the class and walking to the ladies bathroom, locking myself in the stall, and crying for maybe 10 minutes. One of the other female Omanis came in to check on me. I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I was considering never returning to the US. Eight years later, the war is still going on in Yemen, and I have left the States. Permanently, inshallah...

The KSA and USA justification for this in 2014 was that it was necessary to defend Saudi Arabia's borders from Houthi militants who were said to be backed by Iran. I listen to Dave Smith on his podcast “Part of the Problem” and I never miss an episode. I’ve learned a ton from him and I hope that he makes it as the presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party. He has my vote.

Yemen is one of the most under recognized issues in the world right now, and has been for so long. And one of the worst part is that our government is largely responsible for a lot of the chaos there. My friends and family make fun of me for talking about Yemen all the time but the fact that we as developed countries aren't helping Yemen is a massive scar on our credibility, and in fact we are making it worse in many cases

Last year the biggest supercar rally in the world traveled through the middle East . And a huge part of it was going through Yemen , and the people in Yemen are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet . I don't know anything about their government or their religion . To be honest I don't think half the podcasts that Joe has done since moving to Spotify would even be allowed on RUclips. Unfortunately looking at the recent deletions with Joe's approval both Joe and Spotify are buckling to the Liberal pressure that's pressing on them. Sure they didn't give into the Vaccination 'Misinformation' pressure but they did give in and that's a slippery slope. You give these vultures an inch they'll take everything from you. Apologising and deleting those episodes goes against what Joe says about how Wrong Speech should be combated by better speech. I don't think what Joe said in that compilation was ever meant to offend anybody because having listened to over a thousand hours of his podcast I know he's not a racist person however what he said is considered wrong to most people. So if he also believes that what he said was wrong then according to his own edict he should leave those episodes on the air to show that he has made mistakes but is willing to work on those mistakes and be better in the future. We should be a society where we are allowed to make mistakes and then work to combat those mistakes with better behaviour. Unfortunately our world now does not allow people to make mistakes because most of the time your first mistake is your last. Joe fought against that mentality but now maybe because of Spotify he is giving in. You never give in. Spotify needs to be careful because if they're going to go the way of RUclips then this will all be pointless and one of the last avenues of free speech powered conversations will also be regulated and then we are basically all fucked.

I was living and working in Oman when the Saudi military started attacking Yemen in 2014. The Omani government authorised an evacuation of wounded civilians in Sana'a, many of whom were brought to the national hospital on the campus where I worked (Sultan Qaboos University Hospital). I was teaching a course to Omani hospital employees in spring of 2015, and I will never forget one of the female employees coming into my class late and crying hysterically. She had seen an 8-year-old Yemeni boy at our hospital with half of his face blown off... by weapons supplied by the US to Saudi Arabia. She was so upset and overwhelmed, she could not even express herself in English. One of her classmates, a male employee, translated to me from Arabic to explain what she was crying about.
I remember excusing myself from the class and walking to the ladies bathroom, locking myself in the stall, and crying for maybe 10 minutes. One of the other female Omanis came in to check on me. I was so embarrassed and ashamed that I was considering never returning to the US. Eight years later, the war is still going on in Yemen, and I have left the States. Permanently, inshallah...

I listen to Dave Smith on his podcast “Part of the Problem” and I never miss an episode. I’ve learned a ton from him and I hope that he makes it as the presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party. He has my vote.

You should really look more into the power structures set up around the world. If you live in USA you are living under a corrupt and evil empire hell bent on dominating every market that is conceivable. To be honest I don't think half the podcasts that Joe has done since moving to Spotify would even be allowed on RUclips. Unfortunately looking at the recent deletions with Joe's approval both Joe and Spotify are buckling to the Liberal pressure that's pressing on them.
Sure they didn't give into the Vaccination 'Misinformation' pressure but they did give in and that's a slippery slope. You give these vultures an inch they'll take everything from you. Apologising and deleting those episodes goes against what Joe says about how Wrong Speech should be combated by better speech.
I don't think what Joe said in that compilation was ever meant to offend anybody because having listened to over a thousand hours of his podcast I know he's not a racist person however what he said is considered wrong to most people. So if he also believes that what he said was wrong then according to his own edict he should leave those episodes on the air to show that he has made mistakes but is willing to work on those mistakes and be better in the future.
We should be a society where we are allowed to make mistakes and then work to combat those mistakes with better behaviour. Unfortunately our world now does not allow people to make mistakes because most of the time your first mistake is your last. Joe fought against that mentality but now maybe because of Spotify he is giving in.
You never give in.
Spotify needs to be careful because if they're going to go the way of RUclips then this will all be pointless and one of the last avenues of free speech powered conversations will also be regulated and then we are basically all fucked.

If not mentioned , Saudi Arabia has horizontally drilled into Yemen's untapped oil fields that fall near their shared border. While all this conflict is ongoing, Aramco is still pulling oil from a neighbouring nations resource field. Without recompence.

I mean, the other guy get's a lot of things wrong. The Houthis are not some righteous army of anti-imperialist freedom fighters. They're terrorists who kill and rape civilians just like all the other "groups" in the Middle East. And the U.S. can't just stop wars whenever they feel like it. If they cut support for the Saudis and made them recognize the Houthi government, that would only alienate us further from one of our most important allies in the region. It's better to let the Saudis bomb who they want than risk pushing them to one of our enemies.
