What is model of radio ,I saw it on, box but there's a few, also your wiring is there a link for that...mine is a 2011 crafter. Camper in progress your channel has helped 👍
@joe thanks Joe I really appreciate that cheers 🍻 I've just got my Christmas present a new camera for vlogging so you should see and hear a big improvement in the quality I hope 🤞
Hi mate just come across your video of stereo installment found it really informative especially when taking trim of , great to know where all the screws and clips are. Thanks. I've subscribed aswell .
hey Thanks for the video! very helpful. i installed a new radio. one problem. it has a canbus and i cannot find where to connect the little green/black wire to my canbus in the crafter itself. you happen to know where to look? i looked below the glovebox also behind the speedometer.
Speakers. Did you have to change the original speakers, or did the roof mounted tweeters on your later video be enough? Im looking at the Teyes CC3 2K head unit with the 360 camera set up. I'll be lone travelling the world and the 360 cameras will really help me, or id just go for the head unit you suggest in the video. There appears to be no problem that im looking at, that your channel hasn't already done. Keep going, as you have helped me no end already.
Hi we stuck with the original speaker as they produced a good sound the tweeter just add a different sound and make up for the bulk head not being there The 360 cameras sound like a great idea We're are you from ? 😁👍
I fitted a similar Xtrons 10” android touch screen in my sprinter, Although ok when parked I now genuinely loath it when driving, the screens and soft buttons are far too difficult to safely interact with, even simple things like adjusting the brightness or volume require looking at what your doing. It also sufferers terribly from reflections during the day. Not helped by the fact the viewing angles not very good I am glad I still have the separate screen for my reversing camera as that is angled directly at me so is not affected by the poor viewing angle or reflections So for my Crafter I bought a smaller size screen, still Android with all the relevant features but most importantly it has proper physical controls that you can feel for without looking. It’s infinitely better than my distracting touch only Xtrons device.
I know what you mean the button aren't the best the bonus for me is I've paired it up the the steering wheel controls which work a treat the glare on the screen is an issue but in looking into a screen protector that should minimise the glare it let you know how I get on 👍
Hi Sam, I've just come across your channel & just wanted to say I think it's great mate. I'm also glad to see someone other than me suffering from that pesky " Attention to detail syndrome " 🤣🤣🤣 Van looks Mega mate!!!

@thecraftyblinders did you ever get the 4 pin make USB extension? I've bought one off amazon but wondering how to access the back of the factory USB port. Seems you can't just connect it to the existing cable...
Hi great video very informative thank you. Now you have had this in for over a year, would you still recommend the radio upgrade, or has there been a new model since you videoed this one? We have a Mercedes Sprinter, we are looking to upgrade its original radio, just so many to look at and looking for advice. Thank you in advance, if you do get to answer my question .

Hi we have a video that covers that topic the seats were upholstered by Andersons upholstery of Newton Aycliffe top company to deal with tell John the Crafty Blinders sent you 😁👍
Yes you can easily select or change the control on the steering wheel to suit your needs I've not sorted the glare to be honest as it really isn't an issue I think I was being over critical
@@Crichton14478 I have left the reverse camera where it was as it would feel wierd looking at the radio and not the where the rear view mirror should be The sound is as good as the factory unit I may change the speakers and tweeters at some point for something nicer

TheCraftyBlinders ah yes the steering wheel controls should make all the difference, neither of my vans have them unfortunately.
I have a question. Why do you say that your pink cable in no longer required. Thanks for the vidéo. Very helpful.
From memory it's an original cable that the head unit I took out required but the new one didn't I think it was the phone mic

I do still love it. The radio function is a bit lacking, so I would advise getting one with DAB function to be honest😁👍
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Appreciate it.
Did it not work with factory backup camera?
Is there a way to make it work with the factory camera?
Yes you can use your own or the factory supplied one
Sam mate you have had this head unit for a year how do u still rate it I bought a Chinese one xtrons 2 years ago and not so good
Hi Rod I'm playing catch up sorry for the delay head unit is good only wish i had bought the DAB unit pal
Hi there where did you buy the screen from? Is the modem number?
this is and old video, there a better unit on the market now for the crafter and sprinter
Link in video description is dead. What is the make and model?
Sorry it's an old video there are so many new ones on the market now I wouldn't like to recommend one i haven't used
Great vid mate. Do the steering wheel buttons still operate the new unit? Regards John.
Yes absolutely no issues you can even program them to do different thing if you wanted
Thank you. What did you do with the mic situation? Just watching the vid again. 😬👍
How do you set the time and date on these things been driving me mad
So touch the screen and pull down at the same time, this brings up a hidden settings page where you can alter a lot of setting
