Things like the prosperity gospel an other bogus stuff in the American church today Is one of the main reasons why many Evangelicals are joining more Traditional Liturgical Churches particularly the Eastern Orthodox Church where the essentials of the Christian faith in Scripture are upheld and everyone is under Authority even if you are a Archbishop or Patriarch.

Most of the people saying that either have never read the Bible or they are just religious indoctrinated. So many people base their beliefs on what they heard at Church or from their parents,Grandparents, etc. I know people who also think that God wants them not only poor but sick. Hopefully some will actually study the word for themselves and allow God to reveal a new revelation to them, called truth. It's no wonder we so many people suffer in the world today.
