as a driver I personally thank you for cleaning off your lights when it snows. Driving in the snow behind a semi in a small van is bad enough. If I cant see your lights makes me very nervous. So Thank you so much for that.
I clean my personal vehicle lights in conditions like that when I stop. Don't usually make stops to clean. But i am not driving hundreds of miles either. I also don't leave snow on top of my vehicle, not even when I owned a Ford excursion. Everything gets cleaned off.
Last night I was driving south on 46 in Minnesota towards Deer River. A Penner driver wasn’t too happy that I was going 10 below the limit due to it snowing and it was dark. Eventually passed me and saw that the back of his trailer was caked in snow! Couldn’t see any of the trailer lights!
It's become my routine to watch your video in the morning in my last hour of my shift when we have nothing going on and we're just waiting for the next shift guys to come in.
You are absolutely correct about the tail lights needing to be cleaned often from snow quickly covering them. Someone should invent something like they have for back window defroster, use a similar idea for tail lights to continuously melt snow to keep everyone much safer. Work smarter, not harder. I'm sure there's many talented people out there that could design something that could keep the lights free of snow at all times. And then you wonderfully hard working truckers can keep on trucking. Mov'n and a groov'n. Josh, you're very kind to always be thinking of others. Stay safe my friend. Send my love to your sweet family ❤
I'm Indigenous, I love watching your videos regardless of each other's perspectives on politics. Whatever party in politics doesnt change my life so Im good. That is not why Im here. But I found your response funny. Made me laugh. Safe travels. I hope all is well.
Northern Ontario is certainly a challenge in the winter time, but that's the fun of it! When we get shut down, I just pull out the Xbox! Lol! I clean my taillights off all the time. Be safe!
Yes road & workplace safety is all our personal responsibility in trying to reduce incidents/accidents and deaths. Keep up your safety advice as some young person who may want to join you industry
I stop every 60-90 minutes to clean the taillights, headlights and license plates. Reason being you can be ticketed in ALL lower States for Obstructed Plates for SNOW, Ice, Dirt, Mud, Oil, Grease, whatever it be, as well as faded and or missing numerics or alpha-numerical (letters and numbers). However, Josh, the Grease A Bull if that is like a WD-40 and leaves a clear residue (not the White bubbly foam crap from the aerosol ) but if it leaves a clean streak (PAM or any Butter Based Cooking Spray / Pan Liner) works wonders for Ice, Snow, Dirt on lenses. Just spray it on and leave it. Makes it a lot harder for the ice, snow etc. to stick to the lights.
I did every time I stopped and or my wife would when we would stopped and if we had a trailer with LED lights we would have too because there not putting out heat like the older trailer lights.
My son’s name is Deacon. I’ll have to tell him there’s an area in Canada with his name in it. As far as the taillights go, we don’t deal with snow so much down here in North Carolina. But, the dust and sand building up trying to slam loads in as close as possible with the dump trucks will cover them solid. I try to clean them every round I make. Because they get completely covered. Some dudes just roll all day like that. Can’t see them at all. DOT will eat those guys alive if they see it.
I don't mind not seeing tail lights in day time its storming anyway but at night i highly recommend to clean licence plate, reflectors and all light not just for snow gravel mud too
It's been below freezing and we had a dusting of snow here in DFW. They've shut down the schools, anyone who can is working from home and they're asking for us to conserve electricity so the grid doesn't collapse. Being from New England I find it hilarious how much everything falls apart with the littlest amount of snow and cold
Just be careful with the temps. The system coming from Saskatchewan gives extreme cold warnings. Had temos in negative 40s then added in windchills it was in ghe negative 50s.
Trucker Josh you know how you always wanted that duck dynasty long looking beard I think now it’s the perfect opportunity to just let it grow very very very long. In your own words you said you wanted it.
I personally like my life so if its snowing or if theres snow on the road i clean them off everytime i stop and thats only in a normal rig not a semi if i did drive a semi tho id do the same thing cause i like letting ppl know what im doing so they cant blame me for them not watching the road always take the most caution when driving to many i***ts on the road these days also lets bring cbs back i got one for my pickup cause its good to have just incase and its legal to use on the road and they wont cause a accident (if used properly)
I live in B.C. but work for a large Winnipeg company. There a quite a few Giesbrecht's that work for this company and whenever I talk to them on the phone I always ask if they are related to Trucker Josh. So far they have all responded with "Who is Trucker Josh"? LOL
I have only been watching your videos for about 2 days now and I got to say your now my favorite RUclipsr I love the content you put out there and it shows me different parts of Canada seeing am from the states. But I do travel to Canada quite often just not to parts you go to haha but keep up the good videos. Plus must be nice to have a government that cuts your taxes on gas here in the states all they do is raise it. Like right now I pay I think it’s 3.39 a gallon it’s cheaper than what it was which was about 5 gallon but still it’s needs to go lower
Hey Trucker Josh. For us rookie sofa sitting wanna bees, how do you move your axles forward and backward to adjust for loads? Is that a button push thing? It sounds complicated.
Trucker Josh when you arrive at the Flying Jay east of Thunder Bay ask one of the staff for the proper pronunciation of 'Shuniah". Having lived in the area for a number of years I can say your pronunciation was a way off.
Not the best load for traction in the snow. They cut the taxes just to confuse you. When it's -25 etc do you idle the truck at night or do you just rely on the bunk heater and engine heater? Stay safe, stay warm.
You lost me as soon as you did politics....and I don't care what the gov did or who you voted for. I'm passionate about politics but not on trucking videos

Before LED lights, the lights got warm enough to often melt the snow.
LED lights are great, but they don't emit heat like incandescent lights that would normally melt the snow off.
safety is never overkill.
Thumbs up on cleaning the tail lights.
We had snow this morning and every rest area i stoped and did a walk around and cleaned off my lights and relectors
Safety is safe 👍
One thing about the new tail lights is their LED and they don't burn hot enough to get the snow off of them so they get covered real easy

Ya, well get rid of the LED's and put back incandescents. Same problem with traffic signals.
Another enjoyable ride with you. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍I appreciate it

Safety is never over kill.
Being safety conscious is it's own reward.

Love that! Glad to be part of your day!
Joshy let the record show and just put me down as a OBA YO !!!!! HI TO DEISEL.
I clean by tail lights quite often
I drove for 12 winters in northern Alberta. You are 100% correct when it comes to snowy rear lights bud

Thats the problem with LED lights unlike the older style lights they dont give of any heat to melt the snow off them
MAYBE A COLD SORE
I definitely bit my lip in my sleep
They will take back double in a short while
It’s fine.
I’m now a member as well, can’t wait to see what the new year has in store
Thank you for becoming one of the first members!!

That “yummy” Kansas coffee gave you the Herp lip.

Drive Safe Josh, and Don’t Rush!!
If it snows in Savanna Georgia i clean my taillights.
WD40 on lights n all chrome parts, you hit the chrome with a power washer n all the crap will fall off n the shine will be under it.
Take care Josh, one driver died today on the road in Quebec near Ontario!

Yeah, but that’s good news for owner operators
Yeah, especially on the two lanes
You are the first to join TJV membership! Thank you!!

Hello Josh , Brit and Theo!
Trucker Josh brought the snow down there 🤣
I see plenty of 4 wheelers who barely clean off their windows. Yes, I ALWAYS clean off my lights. I don't expect anyone to read my mind.
Looks like someone may need a windshield soon. Agree. Northern Ontario hwys are deadly. Take care stay safe
Just be careful with the temps. The system coming from Saskatchewan gives extreme cold warnings. Had temos in negative 40s then added in windchills it was in ghe negative 50s.
I saw a video on a trucker who sprayed his rear tail lights with WD40 to keep the snow off of them. Maybe try that see if it actually works...
Drive only as fast as the angles will let you it's cold in TX and snow same as you
Haha I had to drive through that today smith falls back to Pembroke
safety first, watch your six! (-;
Cold sore.
No, I bit my lip.
Hi hi
Trucker Josh you know how you always wanted that duck dynasty long looking beard I think now it’s the perfect opportunity to just let it grow very very very long. In your own words you said you wanted it.
A guy overpassed me near kapuskasing, there was space but ge went anyways. Had to break the truck really hard. I guess we crossed each other on the 17

As I am from the future I know how much snow fell and what followed the snow.
In your cold temperatures Josh do u have to leave your truck running when your sleeping in a truck stop or not? Great videos my friend
❤
Just hope they don't give a little break on fuel, then up taxes on other things.
exactly
Hey Trucker Josh. For us rookie sofa sitting wanna bees, how do you move your axles forward and backward to adjust for loads? Is that a button push thing? It sounds complicated.
Some have a button that uses air pressure... others just have a lever that you have to pull
No you can come back to Texas, just don’t leave your weather like last time…
Shuniah sounds like shoe nin ya not Shania Twain
Did you get Blue into the shop after the Texas load? Stay safe and warm, Josh. Benton Harbor, Michigan.
