I love the way you work. You are smart in telling all the tools you need to accomplish this job. You put my mechanic to shame ! He took the truck bed off to change out the fuel pump and charged me out the wazoo ! I wish I'd seen your video first and did it myself now. You made this look so relatively easy ! All My Best !
Thanks! I tried taking off the truck bed first, but there were so many things attached that I'd have have to unhook that it wasn't worth it. So if he did that method I can see why he would charge more!
I have a 4×4 1991 mazda king cab, but instead of lowering the gas tank to remove the fuel pump, I lifted the upper case with concrete blocks , the thing was heavy but it was easier for me . But you did a great job on your pick up.👍
Have you had any issue with the Mazda not getting gas ? My so. Has the same year only 88000 original miles he change the fuel pump and filter. It’s getting a low voltage on the line the goes to the relay. He Hotwire it run for 30 minutes put the bed back on then it would start. He said the he did had issue with the ignition a few weeks ago. So now wondering if that maybe the problem
Hurm... I ended up changing the ignition switch, but my issue turned out to have been the distributor had to be replaced. Sorry it took so long to respond, I get lazy. Hope your issue has been fixed!
A S before and after changing the fuel pump the truck did not run. I was doing trial and error method of repair as I didn’t know what was wrong with the truck at the time I changed the fuel pump. Eventually changed the distributor which was the real problem. So to answer your question, once the distributor was fixed , and possibly in combination with a new fuel pump and fuel filter, the truck ran better than ever.
I have a question hope you can guide me , I have an extended cab 1991 Mazda B2200 I follow your video(thanks a lot it was easy with it) but the fuel filter I couldn’t find it anywhere close to the tank is it different than the single cab?
Victor Ramirez The 1991 might be fuel injected. In some cars they put the filters closer to the engine, try to follow the fuel lines see if you can find it. If not, it’s possible they put it in the fuel tank itself but not sure how common that is. Thanks for watching my videos!
Ninja of All Trades did you get a new fuel pump strainer because i need to change my fuel pump as well on my 1990 b2600i so i was wondering if i would need to buy a new fuel pump strainer ???
Plox Plox I did not, mostly at the time because I didn’t know what it looked like in there or that there was one. When I did it, I inspected the one that was there and it looked clean but discolored. As such I was not concerned. Good luck on yours!

That is interesting I didn’t know it had 2 fuel pumps I have changed the one under my hood before but never this one. I didn’t know it had another one.
@@ninjaofalltrades4293 haha yeah. I read online that the fuel injected ones had it in the tank only and the carbureted ones had a mechanical one at the back of the engine only.
My Mazda B2200 has some sort of problem and it may relate to my fuel pump or I might be wrong but when I drive my Mazda I get to around 30 mph then it starts to stutter and when the road is at like 40 mph and by the time I’m at 35 mph my Mazda shuts off so I have to turn off the ignition turn it on again and go at a slow pace and it really makes me mad so I need to know if you know what is wrong with my truck
Herbs Pedroza I’m no mechanic, so hopefully someone else can give better suggestions. When I had similar issues it turned out to be the distributor. I took it to a mechanic to replace the distributor and it fixed the problem.
I'm confused as to how many pumps are on these lil bastards? Is there a mechanical and electric? On my b2000 there's a mechanical and no electric, however my 91 b2200 idk? I'm getting no fuel! Guess I've got my work cut out for me. Oh well here I go👉👉👉

Videos on the early B series pickups are pretty rare. Great job!!

I'm glad that was easier for you! I tried that, but I would have had to disconnect too many things to get it high enough, so gave up on that idea.
Hi love your video, id love to find someone like you, thats likes working on car's.
Just found your channel, youre living my life in a different body lol, Except Im in a 97 b2000. Very neat lol
Right on! Hope you have done some fun things with your 97 b2000!
Good
I'm wondering if the 2600i is the same procedure.
Good Question! Search for "Chris Fix!" he did videos for the 2600 before, maybe he has it on there.
I'm proud of you, keep with your videos help me a lot.Any idea how to make a power steering conversion?

Did the old pump go out or did you just change it as a preventative measure? Also does it start/run better after

Hello where did you get your fuel pump from

It’s the catalytic converter for sure
Herbs Pedroza you have full emission set up?
Did you ever figure out your problem? Mine is doing the EXACT thing and I'm not sure where to go next. anything helps.
