That freaking "No Vakama DON'T!" combined with Vakama igniting his weapon. Goosebumps. And I love how it builds up and keeps going in crescendo. Watching this trailer just made my day, it's that awesome.
should've had Roodaka's big evil cackle at the end with the title drop, that would've wrapped it up nicely. or even the portion at beginning of the laugh as a quiet chuckle to herself at the end of the monologue at the beginning of the trailer with the stormy sea and haunting warning siren from the ship, that would've been way cool!
I got so many chills!!! Especially from Onewas "And when we don't!?" Well done! Watching this is like playing an old game with remastered graphics, it makes the movie look as good as I remember it from when I was a kid.
This is absolutely fantastic! Your editing skills are on point here, and have been in the other movie trailers as well. I like how you've selected a particular focus in each (Takua/Makuta interaction in MoL, the dystopic plotline in LoMN, and Vakama's change in WoS) and built an atmosphere around them. Thank you so much for bringing new life into these nostalgic movies (and giving me something to show my friends while introducing them to Bionicle)!
Been trying to think of a better way to say this, but fuck it. That means a lot, man. That’s definitely been my biggest goal approaching these things from the get-go, to try and flesh out a proper throughline (that may or may not deviate from the actual movie) instead of falling into the usual fan trailer pitfalls of just cramming everything in there (a.k.a. how the TLR trailer ended up going). There’s always that chance that it just doesn’t land, and there’ve definitely been mistakes trying to work this stuff out, but I’m glad it’s landed as well as it has with you guys. Confirmation is consolation ‘n all that cross-wired jazz.
I earnestly think this man should actually get into the film marketing industry, he's got some talent. This convinced me to rewatch something I've watched like, probably dozens of times throughout my life.
How and why this isn’t the actual trailer is something I must know. Because *it absolutely should be* Phenomenal work, I hope my trailers are this good someday bro
YES YES YES!!! THIS IS SO GOOD!!! THIS IS EVERYTHING I EVER HOPED FOR AND MORE!! The Rudaka Monologue at the very beginning, while we see the ship sinking and the hand surge out from beneath the waves is amazing. It really captures the horror aspect of the entire world. And I absolutely love Vakama's monologue, with references to the previous movie, and seeing walk all alone in the ruins of Metru Nui. It feels like an excellent continuation from the previous video were it felt the entire world was against him, and he's finally broken under the immense weight of responsibility he has to deal with, coupled with the disgrace of his failures. As much as I dislike the 'self-pitying' attitude Vakama has to deal with (it's not very well written), I think you were able to really make it shine by pointing out just how _hopeless_ his situation really is. He's alone, without allies and he's completely failed. Excellent work. And to make matters worse, we clearly see how he's now being taken advantage of by Rudaka who compliments him, and makes him into a King - a clear divide from what it's implied that the Toa gave him. And I love how you portray him as becoming increasingly batshit insane because Rudaka, his insecurities, depression and the Hordika Venom. Norik pleading Vakama not to do it as he attacks the other Toa, and Vakama screaming at the others to kneel before him while Onewa challenges him *Chef's kiss*. I got chills. It's so good!!! And the way you have Norik explain the Hordika venom, all while seeing Vakama succumb to it is amazing. It really builds on the sheer hopelessness and despair of the whole situation. I really appreciate this video far more than the other two as well, because it feels so personal. This is Vakama's journey, and Matau promising to come and save him. The challenges that both of those two Toa have to overcome. We're not about saving the world or a city anymore. It's about the fall of a hero, and this time he desperately needs someone to save him, though there doesn't seem to be anyone able to do so. I swear I'm getting some old vibes from Episode 6 of Star Wars; Will Luke join the Dark Side (way back when it was a serious question)? Except this time, it's "Can we even save Vakama?" My only complaint about this whole video, is the same as the last one; the scenes flash by way too quickly. In some cases, where we see Norik scream "No Vakama Don't" it's absolutely perfect, but in other places it's too fast. All in all, an absolute joy to watch. Definitely my favorite of the quartet video trailers for now. As you can probably tell, I do work in the film industry for 3D development and video game development. Hence why the huge comment xD
Imma be honest, i'm an old bionicle fan, but i just found this channel recently and frustrated why there was no trailer for the 3rd movie. Turna out you were working and it and the result is absolutely amazingggg 😀. I love your channel, wish you all the best ❤️🙌
Oh WOW, this is amazing! I love the way you take some of the lines out of their original context, and yet, somehow, make them work even better than they did in the actual movie! Truly fantastic work.
Praise be to the great spirit! This is amazing! I like how the dialogue fits with the visuals and both are very dramatic. It makes the movie look enticing!
Man I _wish_ I stuck that on-theme. That’s just the synth of the main track at work, Audiomachine’s Aramid. After that cut to black I used a sample of Sonic Mayhem’s Doomsday as another riser to fill out a longer beat before the final hit, since the main track was too short there. I mean, I was drawn to those pieces because I liked how much the synth _evoked_ the Visorak, but I never went quite as far as to warp their own screeches from the movie that way. An idea for another time, I suppose.
@@APinchofBazel Maybe you could experiment with doing little bumper ads or something, but this one is perfect. I'm just realizing that the way you cut it makes Sidorak look like this terrifying shadowy badass. I love it.
-My idea for the cast of Bionicle 4: Andrew Francis as Toa Jaller Chiara Zanni as Toa Hahlii Michael Dobson as Toa Hewkii Brent Miller as Toa Matoro Will Arnett as Toa Kongu Kevin Michael Richardson as Toa Nuparu
BRO NOSTALGIA, AND GOOSBUMPS??!!! im crying.

SO GOOD
Yes and it's a great way to re-frame the phrase because the original context is different from what's being implied in the trailer.
I keep coming back to this...
The "You're our leader... You're MY leader..." from Matau is so heartbreaking.
Very well done!
should've had Roodaka's big evil cackle at the end with the title drop, that would've wrapped it up nicely.
or even the portion at beginning of the laugh as a quiet chuckle to herself at the end of the monologue at the beginning of the trailer with the stormy sea and haunting warning siren from the ship, that would've been way cool!
You managed to turn something derivative, formulaic, and oversaturated with jump cuts into something beautiful. That is the way of the Bionicle.
I think I got 10000 steps in just from the excitement of watching this.
I got so many chills!!! Especially from Onewas "And when we don't!?" Well done! Watching this is like playing an old game with remastered graphics, it makes the movie look as good as I remember it from when I was a kid.
Jeez I got goosebumps watching this, my Childhood seems so far away but I love that parts of it still lives to this day.
This reverted me 20 years into a child again being in love with this specific era of bionicle!
The music synced with the Visorak scream tho
It just hits to good
Better movie, better trailer.
Good job with this one. Really makes Matau's lines seem much more tragic.

@@APinchofBazel Oh yeah you've done a great job. Storytelling through editing is an amazing feat, and you've done it insanely well

Maybe transformers one would've done better in the box office if this guy did the marketing

Web of Shadows was my first exposure to bionicle, so watching this trailer gave me chills and made me almost cry because of how amazing this is
He can't keep getting away with this! You keep making these movies look so much deeper than they are!
Or! Consider, they are that deep, but sometimes it takes skilled and dedicated works like this to really let it shine
I never realized that by mixing lines form various scenes you can make them fit so well :o
It’s easily been both the hardest and most fun part of making these things.

Our parents: "awww look at em playing with legos:"
Our imaginations as kids:
I've just watched all three of your modern Bionicle trailers, they're all amazing!
in 2008 we were rent cd version for watching it . Good old days
I'm at a genuine loss for words.
This actually made some of Vakama's lines less cringy lol. Really awesome stuff! Makes it way cooler and intense!

This 3 minute trailer is one of the best things I've seen from the bionicle community. This was fucking amazing.
You are truley the best bionicle channel
Big mood on this one. I love everything bazel has released (P.S. it tried correcting bazel to bagel)

Wouldn’t be the first time.
Probably won’t be the last time.
Oh, wow they're keeping certain spoilers secret, they haven't even hinted at Keeton...

... oh...
Ah well, awesome trailer!
It wouldn't be a modern trailer if they didn't spoil major plotlines, now would it? Haha.
I mean it dosen't tell you who keetongu is or what he does in the movie so the mystery is still there
This was a great video, but Web of Shadows is even darker than I remember.

I almost hope this isn't someone's first exposure to the movies 'cos while I like them, DAMN you make them look sick!
If only... ah the good old days
2:44 Did you seriously turn a Visorak scream into a riser effect? That's insane.
Easy sub.

Amazing. Only missing is licensed songs. Maybe put caught in a dream since the song was in the credits of the movie.
Giving this a rewatch. Amazing how Roodaka is given a better characterization in these 3 minutes than basically her entirety of post-2005 appearances.
That was awesome. What a great series of videos. You did an excellent job on all of them
Damn... just.... damn.
This was incredible! Its so well edited that I had to watch it 3 times in a row. Great stuff!
Wow it's so epic and powerful. Great work!
Excellent work!
I'ts halloween this Thoktober!
Really well done, great stuff dude!
This is just so fuckin great.
