Still miss him. It was a privilege to watch him grow through the years and share all the best of what he found wherever he went.

I miss him so much. I have rarely shred a tear over the death of someone I never met, but after reading his book and watching his shows for so many years, I was really hurt by his death. He loved his “bad boy chef” image, but he was truly a good person. You could tell not only from the way his friends talked about him, but by the way he treated people he met on his travels. I will always remember a show on Ghana. He was taken out to meet a tribe who took him to find an ostrich egg then cooked an omelette in the hot dirt. On voiceover, he says their were bits of dirt in the omelette and it tasted awful, but when people who have almost nothing offer you what little they have, you say thank you and eat it, and if they offer you seconds, you eat that too with a smile on your face. If there is an afterlife, I hope he found peace in it.

Bourdain's last show was in Artsakh, Armenia's former Karabakh stronghold. Azerbaijan ethnically cleansed Artsakh in 2023; and, in 2018, Bourdain was banned from visiting Azerbaijan.

Was very privileged to have met him at a book signing in Ridgewood, NJ several years ago. Seemed like a real cool guy. I also used to frequent Hiram’s in Fort Lee which was the hot dog place he loved to go to when he lived in nearby Leonia.
