Me too. Hinamizawa syndrome was not develop normally to a people who have a healthy mind. In Akasaka's case he was inject with L5. Which is most tragic since Akasaka have his wife and child waiting at home.
Took me a while to notice but, the loops in Nekodamashi prove to say “Hey Rika, wanna see me ruin your chances of getting out of here alive? Wanna see me do it again?” She can’t run to Akane, Kimiyoshi, Akasaka, Keiichi and even Satoko. Also I love the brilliance of the loop order too, it starts with heart break, and then terror and then back to heart break again and then you get hit with more heart break. It’s a heart breaking festival man.
The way it jump to that revelation horrified me to my very core. The man who was a good piece in one of her many fragments succumbing to the curse, wearing a face that was no longer his... I should have expected this would go wrong the moment he suddenly showed up.

I can understand Bernkastels lack of empathy after watching this. Imagine your friends and people you trust having the intention to kill you throughout multiple timelines. It makes you realize that there aren't that many perks of humanity worth protecting and you become the cruelest witch of them all. (Spoiler) Even in Umineko, there was no witch named Beatrice. It was all a cover up by murderous family members and friends who sought money.
The witch version yes, but someone named Beatrice did exist (in fact 2 of them). And it wasnt a cover up, rather a fake urban myth made by one person which the rest of residents were victim of it. I assumed you havent reached the single book of truth part? bcs you'll find there that the family isnt as cold-blooded as it seemed.

The betrayal came from Rika's best friend. She knew what Akasaka meant to Rika, and destroyed that by a syringe. A psychological emotional damage that could not be heal.

Honestly if we follow the timeline of the anime Bernkastel was already born and departed from Rika before Rika even left Hinamizawa Unless they pull a Retcon Which brings into question if Berkastel could be the one influencing Satoko's actions

The motivation is unreliable, I think it comes from the feeling of jealousy that arises in Satoko, she tries very hard but is lazy to try to adapt to the new learning environment. Being gradually ostracized and secretly jealous made Satoko feel betrayed, she was still guilty for her selfish thoughts so those things did not justify Satoko's betrayal of Rika

In matsuribayashi, it was stated rika didn't remember the event in minagoroshi. When Hanyuu tried to tell her they managed to save satoko before, rika thought the previous loop was rena trying to blow up the school.

Okay, I'm going to put it out there. I'm 110% certain that Satoko is the looper behind all of this. Think about it, everyone Rika gets close to turns out to eventually have L5, and every time she gets a new bodyguard or ally, they all end up turning on her. This time, I'm certain it isn't Miyo Takano because she died with Tomitake to most likely detective Oishi. Satoko also was most likely the reason why the uncle escaped and almost kills Keichi, all the camera shots toward her, the bloody scene, the newer camera shots on her during when the house is burning down with Akasaka. And the fact that when Rena, Keiichi, Satoko, and Rika were in Angel Mort with Keichi batting people, notice the fact that Satoko doesn't look really injured, almost like she's faking death and seeing what plays out. Also, quick side note, this isn't Rika anymore, it's definitely Bernkastel with the red eyes and the mention of Lucia Academy.

I thought this would make sense in context. NOPE! The episode doesn't even show WHY Akasaka, the BAMF character in the original anime, the one Rika cried tears of pure joy each time he appeared, why he killed Rika. I just don't get this new anime at all.

I remember watching this for the first time and being so happy to see Akasaka, only for all that to be ruined within seconds.
this was insane, akasaka is much kinder than ooishi so its quite inane to think that he got stress levels to the point of killing rika, but then again he had to blame someone for those parasites

Akasaka is actually my favorite character so this really broke me.

I was not paying attention too much when rika was talking to akasaka and then bam. Even the part where small rika was talking to adult rika and then they straightaway cut to satoko bashing her guts. Those cuts scare me more than the deaths
