- In this video I'm out at Jumpinpin chasing flathead on glide baits with Captain Livo, we try a few other techniques but find the big bait presentation over the flats to be the most effective. With limited time and a myriad of spots to fish it's almost impossible to take the time to fish these baits super slow to maximise their full potential. In the end we catch some quality fish and get a few unexpected surprises along the way as we hone our skills fishing glide baits.

Liam…I just loved the way you went to your “confidence bait”…..Many of us anglers collect many different types of hard bodies and soft plastics and other lures yet have half a dozen or so of these which are the “go to” when things get a little tough. Love the videos.

It’s not called a “confidence bait” for nothing 😂 in NZ, we catch snapper in the shallows all the time 🤷🏻♂️

I’m not out to claim it as something it’s not. Call it a possible 71cm or maybe 75cm. Good fish either way in my opinion mate.

That snap was crazy aye. Totally random but it kinda makes sense. After a crazy wind and big swell they do push in there and in places like the seaway pretty often.

For myself I’ve just bought an Atomic Arrowz Bream Crank Rod and intend to give it a flogging ie it won’t go unused, initial impressions seems really nice.

On the ones without split rings do you tie straight to the tow point or use a loop knot?

Yeah BCF have a few new custom colours and I run a double clinch knot straight to the tow point mate.
