The pickpocketing mini game also gives you lots of money, as well as the loot locations. If you take your time and wander through all the sewers, it took me 20 hours, but then you can play through again as the technologist or the voodoo shaman, whichever you didn't do the first time and you will get a slightly different story.
I bought this months ago and still haven't had the time to play yet. I love the backdrop and concept. My support will always go to interesting indie devs first. I don't expect everyone to do the same, but i haven't regretted anything yet. The games usually speak for themselves.

I started to play as a sorcerer and died in a first fight with the smallest imp I have ever seen. It cost me half of an hour and discouraged me to do it all again. But I don't want to be forced to play as a fighter or some shooter. So, if you devs read this - pls fix it.

It looks really gorgeous and like it will be a ton of fun! Especially because of the similarity to BG3, same formula but different world looks like a good time to me!
I really hope that if you have high stats in Tech then you can go through a quest where you invent something new. Almost all steam punk games have your characters simply reproducing things instead of tinkering and making something new. Maybe a new type of robot or am automatic hand gun.

In fairness, he has to pick his time carefully. Meaning, it's rare that he has the time or motivation to look at smaller/indie games, as they don't benefit the channel much. However, being paid to do it removes the risk of a low view count, allowing him to try the game in question without worrying about its performance.

Hey Luke, if you want to check some indie game, check on Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Literally it tries to be SCROLLS-like game. It is also answer to question, what if Obsidian stayed with the art style of the first Avowed trailer. Matty and Wolfheart tried it and you as former BETHESDA fan should really check it out.
The second I saw screens and the first trailers my mind went immedaitely to Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura which is an oldschool CRPG that I dearly love. I played very little of the demo and was pretty impressed, but I just wanted to wait it out until the full game releases so I can fully dive in then.

The game looks interesting, and gorgeous. But that is nullified for me by the abundance of markers around the actors. It's turn based, I don't need intrusive artificial information to enable me to act ... fast (?). I know about my party members and the enemies without a fat circle around their feet and a huge bar above their heads. It's enough to find infos on the hotbar or portraits. I hope it's possible to disable all those markers in the scene, like you can for example in Baldurs Gate 3. If not, it's a skip.
This game looks promising. It's like the Steampunk version of Divinity Original Sin 2 or Baldur's Gate 3. And since this is an Early Access, I wonder if we'll get updates on more classes, more races and more companions.
Obviously it’s very different but I think there’s a group of people who think boulders gate three is going to inspire a bunch of turn base top down games with strong story and choice options. I kind of feel like that unlikely because it was too good and none of these bigger companies can really accomplish something on a similar level.

In Arcanum magic and tech are hostile to each other. Magic users emit an aura that makes tech stop working. Magic users have to ride at the back of trains because they can cause the locomotive to stop working. Does this game have this?

i don't see any interesting looking character that stands out and that for me is very important in an rpg. In the character creator something is just off, there is no expressions and the faces look dead or plastic in the eyes.

Yeah, Steampunk is so unique and so rarely utilized. In AAA games it's usually utilized badly, where you can't really see much of it on your character. One thing I'm worried about with this game is that because Steampunk is not very popular, that will limit the games success. Also because many new video gamers have the attention span of a squirrel, they are too lazy and dumb to read long texts, so that can also limit the games popularity.

I agree I live a good aa game like greedfall or Banishers. They should keep getting better and better.

I sank a whole summer vacation on Arcanum, despites its flaws, it was an amazing game.

The art style reminds me of Disco Elysium, but mixed with Dishonored/ Arkane Studios
