Thanks so much!! Got it off with a harbor freight heat gun (about 5-10 minutes) of holding it on high moving it around where you said to hit the heat and rotating the heat gun to make sure it went evenly then with a 3/4” cross foot and my husky torque wrench (18” long) I was able to get it off. Thanks so much!! Saved me days of effort and money!! Also, there for sure was residue on the threads suggesting there was rocksett on it.
Thanks. Bent my first handguard and had send it to sig for replacement on my first 7.62. With a heat gun and large crescent wrench on the flash hider prongs my second 556 came off with heavy pressure. I used a vise and Geissele reaction rod. 😅 If you don’t have the tools, suck it up and ship it to Sig. Don’t damage your upper like I did stupidly.
I used hot water, a map gas torch, and the Milwaukee M18 impact gun. It took all of them, but it came right off then. 😂 I had the shoulder coller but decided to just have the barrel cut, pinned and welded with my Surefire Warcomp.
SIG will do it for free. You just need to pay the shipping cost.
This is true!! I’m just too impatient 😅

Great video. Does the Warcomp require the spacer at the base as well?
How long should you use the blow torch on the muzzle device for?? Did they say at the gun shop

Let the muzzle soak in denatured alcohol for 30 minutes and it will come off with very little torque
Where did you local gun store get the adapter from? Do they have a website for them? I need one for Sig Spear 308.
I believe SIG has them on their website!
Should’ve went with Dewalt instead of Milwaukee. Piece of cake, no heat required.
Your local tire shop will have an air gun that will work. It did for me
If you think that was tough, try getting the muzzle device off a new Galil!
