      PAmining Your welcome. I have enjoyed all of your videos. I am like this when I bring in a new project I start doing research I want to learn every little thing I can about whatever I am working on. My dad has had a few bulldozers so I have allways been interested in heavy machinery. My favorite one was his D8 Cat I was little and it was huge. It had the crank start pony motor on it. Cable lift the main engine had 2 stuck pistons in it. It took a bit of work but my dad got it going after 30+years of sitting. Loving the videos.👍 :)

    I got to load under one of these for a summer in a 246" wheelbase Ford Triaxle 79,500 gvw (ontario). I dont know what yards the bucket was but it fit between the sideboards with like 6" spare on each side. “2 scoops of raisins” and drive away loaded. The second excavator was a 350 cat taking just under 5 buckets for max GVW on my truck. Steve(operator) said the Hitachi used less fuel/day than the 350 cat. Im also going to say the Hitachi was more quiet than the 350 cat. I lo00ove running Hitachi excavators. As usual, great documentary. Cheers.

      I think 97 was the first year of the "FordLing". Truck I drove was an 89/F9000/425cat/8LL/20FA/46RA.

    The old 700 was a great Joe and the 750 was better again!..very tough and well made machine…burned some diesel with one for a summer back in the day…the one I ran had about the same size boom but longer stick and about a 4.5 yard bucket…it worked great!..not sure if it would out perform a Pc750 but it would be awfully close in performance…ran lots of those too..great video!!

    EX Dash 5 Hitachi excavators were some of Hitachi’s best. These 750’s are a proven worker, worth rebuilding and sending out to work again. Comfortable to run for 10-12 hour shifts. Good unit

    I've never got to run an excavator before, but I've driven two tractor-trailers with that "Red head" N14. All I can say, I love the ISX Cummins Engines, but there'll always be a VERY special place in my heart for that "red head N14*...

      It’s crazy how different it sounds when it’s on an excavator. It’s almost unrecognizable until it gets up to speed.

    Dirty cabs drive me crazy.. I always try to keep mine clean.. If I'm going to spend 8 to 10 hours a day and in a machine I want it to be cleaned.. I was on vacation for a week when I came back I was amazed at how hogged up it was the guy running it that week must have been just a total Slob!

    I ran an 850 on the last airport job I was on. It would load out a 745C haul truck in 3 buckets. Super slow compared to the Cats I have run but it is a very smooth running machine.

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  6 лет назад

      Cool. I got to run an older 3500 at the mine I interned at in 2013. My experience was the same, super smooth machine to run.

      Another funny story. ..k6 an old Appalachian fuels job acuired a 3500 from pa back 8n the early 2000s...we got called in to do a major cleanin on it and 4 or 5 steam trucks stayed on it 3 or 4 solid days n nights....used an 88b for a man lift with 10' wands gettin the boom...I miss every part about strip mining
