You can just imagine Elvis standing to one side just listening to Boots Randolph blowing your mind away this is brilliant, your reaction is so straight the point .Well done you
Elvis recorded about 15-20 strictly Blues songs over his career; unfortunately, they were never all put on a single album so you have to dig around to find all of them. Agree that his vocals & sound are perfect for it.
Went to the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in Tulsa, and they had live performances. It was the Best. The blues songs were great. It is the solo instruments that just are so good. Like in this song. ❤❤
this was elvis' first album on his return from the army in 1960 you heard him do this live during the 1976 concert you watched blues is really a sweet spot for elvis and he should've done a lot more of it!! thanks rory :)
This was recorded in Nashville with some of the "A Team" studio musicians: Boots Randolph on sax, Hank Garland on guitar, and Floyd Cramer on piano who was known mainly for playing on country recordings.
As I wrote, this was the last track of this session and done in one full take...saxophone BOOTS RANDOLPH,GUITAR HANK GARLAND and SCOTTY MOORE,DRUMS DJ FONTANA BUDDY HARMON, piano FLOYD CREAMER...studio RCA STUDIO B NASHVILLE 1960 First LP after just coming out of the ARMY.
The tape is missing that contains the session for 'I Will Be Home Again' and 'Reconsider Baby' - all that exists are the masters and count-in's, although this could just mean that these weren't complete takes and were erased.
Raw unfiltered EP wat a star and still entertaining the masses, there is an album that was released in the 80s named Reconsider Baby its a masterpiece of blues from the KING. TCB&TLC
I LOVE ELVIS AND THE BLUES 💙 THE SAX WAS AMAZING 🎷SEXY SEXY SAX!! THAT WAS 🔥 🔥 🔥 AWESOME REACTION RORY AND THANK YOU KEVIN FOR THIS AWESOME REQUEST!! 😊 🩷 🤘 ✌️ YEEEEEAAAA!! THAT WAS SEXY SWEEEET!!
Incredible that his voice is so different in this to say, It's Now Or Never despite him recording them in the same year...1960. He was able to do anything he wanted with his voice...so damn versatile ❤
An Elvis Blues masterpiece and a great reaction, Rory. You do some of the best Elvis reactions and give the best critiques. I love this whole album as it is full of gems like this..❤❤❤
Elvis always strove for a perfect blending of voices and instruments. I prefer most of the undubbed versions of Elvis’ tracks, before anyone starts dubbing extra instruments and backing vocals, because what you hear in these undubbed masters is the SOUND Elvis created and wanted. One of the primary reasons Elvis went back to live performances in 1969 was because on stage NO ONE could mess with HIS music!
If you like the blues style elvis try the song ( like a baby ) its got that sound i like to call putting some stink on it lol because it makes you scrunch up your face like reconsider baby does .. you can find it on ELVIS SINGS THE BLUES another album you will like and before you listen to it your welcome 😊 lol your going to love it
He always loved to give time to members of his band. Elvis was love and fire.
Pure blues
Love blues Elvis too. Hi heeled sneakers is a fav
Best of the best version of this song and Elvis is absolutely the great blues singer , love the musical arrangements and the sax sound is awesome.
Elvis and the blues...perfection. Another good one is High Heeled Sneakers.
The little Beatles were still popping their pimples when Elvis was making the world soaking wet.
