The Archers had a week of trial episodes in 1950 and the first full episode was broadcast on 1st January 1951. It is broadcast 6 days per week and is the world's longest running continuing drama serial
Being a Brit, I can confirm The Archers is as British as British can be - it's beloved of the middle-classes of 'Middle England'. A school-friend of mine once claimed it's theme tune ought to be the British national anthem. Perhaps he had a point... 😉 ruclips.net/video/wNEawM6vZf4/видео.html
I'm American (Californian! and Latin American!) and I discovered The Archers through Spotify, although I had heard mentions of it here and there on British TV, usually joking. I can confirm that it's the archetypal middle class liberal British show about an idealized small town rural life, much as A Prairie Home Companion was the archetypal middle class liberal American show about an idealized small town rural life. Although both shows are vastly different - 15 minute soap opera episodes airing daily vs two hour long variety show that (used to) tour and air weekly, they have a lot in common in that they are both throwbacks to a different era of radio entertainment and they both appeal to very similar audiences - and weirdos like me.
She's definitely nervous, but love how conan gets her at ease and helps build her confidence!
Felicity is so charming
Ditto 💯
“No I’m 50” might be Conan’s best delivered line of all time. Change my mind
Maya Rudolph:."... But I'm Aunt Jemima!"
Yup
Solid delivery..
I almost believed him
Why would anyone care enough about what you think to try and change your mind?
"why?" x2
She's a sweetheart. Charming, gorgeous, funny, down to earth.

It should be illegal to be that damn good looking. Felicity not too bad herself either
Totally agree. All you stated is a fact. 2 facts.

Yogurt and spoon, she was quick with that answer 😂
The plot of that radio show was probably written by Norm McDonald.

So…..if her family name was based on their profession….she would be Emma Pyg? I can only imagine how bad her life would be in school. 😊
Better than Emma Porker, I guess?
