People also need to understand that celebrities and influencers spend big amounts of money not just on surgical and non-surgical procedures but also on professional dermatologist treatments and laser treatments as well as nutritionist, professional trainers, etc. All of this can improve skin in such a way that we will never be able to achieve with cosmetic products of any kind. I’m happy that all these harsh truths are finally getting exposed. Thank you Cassandra!
This is about money, and power... The products they sell, are not usually based on "truth." It's another game! All the while they run to their bank accounts for freedom.
Exactly! It’s not just about surgeries and Botox! Even just celeb facials are magical, they can cost thousands of dollars and depending on the person doing it, it can look like you’ve taken a magically youthful fountain pill! I’ve seen several videos on different Hollywood celeb facial it’s and the machines they use and the techniques some of them have INVENTED (meaning other place won’t even have it) is seriously unreal, can brighten you up and make you look younger instantly, and no procedure or anything involved.
Cindi Hunter facts, like they do whatever they want behind the scenes then release products saying that it’s responsible for whatever about them people are talking about, I.e Kylie Jenner going viral for her lip injections and lying saying her lips look bigger cause she overlined her them then released a lip kit and made money off the lie. Or like how jlo lies and says that her youthful skin is all because of pure extra virgin olive oil and now has a high end skin care brand with extra virgin olive oil as an ingredient even though many dermatologists have said its impossible for EVOO to have that effect on skin and and it can actually mess up the skins natural barrier
I agree Denying it, is completely dumb but also the obsession with someone else's body needs to stop and a little inspiration is not wrong but not to the point where you want to look exactly like them. Also because of all that a lot of people think you can be naturally pretty and besides even if they the truth, the are still millions of people wanting look like them especially because of the surgeries but also some people stop wanting to look them
Please RUclips, leave videos like this alone. They make us realize that money is what helps a lot of people look the way they do. We are surrounded by liars and truth like this just makes us think, just think. Thank you Cassandra.
I hatee when they say oh I got a medical nose job like.. septoplasty, deviated septum, hypertrophic turbinates do NOT CHANGE YOUR NOSE SHAPE!! i got a hypertrophy and a septoplasty and the doctor even said it does not alter your nose shape at all!! what you can do is combine both septoplasty and rhinoplasty but the procedure takes longer..
Denying you've had procedures done is so irresponsible when you have millions of people looking up to you, especially when it's partly for your looks... also it's sad how all celebrities just have the same face now even though they were pretty before too
@sabina right and that make me so mad... Really imagine all the little girls look up to them thinking there is something wrong with their appearances. It disgusts me.
Celebrities don't care about us. Why do people have such a hard time understanding this? The vast majority only care about themselves and how they can profit.
It’s really unethical to promote skin care products and saying that is what you use to keep a youthful appearance when you have had procedures. It’s obvious Cindy Crawford has been having procedures and she still advertises a skincare line as the reason for her youthful appearance. Victoria Principle was one of the first ones to do this, but I am sure her plastic surgeon ex actually had more to do with her appearance than any cream or cleanser.
@@sabina6280 People definitely think that they care. I wasn’t saying you were one of them though. We shouldn’t look up to celebrities in general we should only be comparing ourselves with our own selves when it comes to improving. This is where the world has gone into a toxic loop of idolizing other human beings. It’s quite sad.
Thank you for this! I’ve had Botox, and filler! Guess what, nobody cares. Why they feel the need to lie is absurd to me. Do celebs truly believe we will think they were born special and never ever age? Why this is such a secret I’ll never understand.
Exactly!!! None of us care! If you want to do it, do it! However when people over do it, other people will be talking or judging. So just don’t overdo it like plastic or a duck LOL! I don’t care if you go looking like a duck but normal people in society will!!! 😂😉
I may get lip filler as I age... but extremely subtle. Lol. I really wish I’d do baby Botox in the 11’s, but oh well!!! My mom thinks they are super cute (I’m 37), and she doesn’t believe the are frown lines- she sincerely thinks it part of my nose causing the forehead to crinkle!? 😹🤷🏻♀️ Coming from a 65 year old women with zero wrinkles, she doesn’t get it haha!!!
I always tell people I get botox. They're always shocked and I'm like why not? I have very deep set eyes and a heavy brow and always look mad and I like the eyebrow lift and a smoother forehead that shines haha
But that is the magic. If you are a celeb you have to play a role of being perfect and untouchable. Otherwise they would be like us. It’s just about status. It’s conceptual
I learnt to accept myself the way I am. Today we have lost so much of our individuality because our ethnic features are seen as unattractive. Its weird that most people want to look alike now
Exactly! All celebs get rid of wide or big noses and look like different people. I have ethnically big nose and round eyes /Bulgarian/ and all my life I get the feeling that's not ok. Recently I started to appreciate my nose and everything else cause that's what makes us different and beautiful. Also, I think some day in the future procedures will be so widespread that nobody will "age" at all, or just the poorest people will age.
Very interesting video; it actually gave me an idea for one of my own: I’ll make sure to credit you; because you know; fairness. PS; JLO actually said she’s never had Botox or any plastic surgery; more than just denying Botox.
Watch that woman’s face, during interviews. There is very little movement in her face… which I suspect is due to some “treatments”. She’s also claiming that (pure?) extra virgin olive oil is responsible for her youthful skin… despite dermatologist saying that it’s not very good for the skin barrier. And of course, she’s now selling a high end skincare line that allegedly contains (beneficial amounts?of) EVOO.
Also, unless you were an A cup or a small B cup, after you have kids you can't really pull off braless tops and dresses and still look round and perky. I was a full B cup and am now a droopy C cup due to having my son. All those women have had a boob job of some sort. I'd bet money on it!
The sad part is that these lies have a huge impact on one's self esteem.I was bullied in elementary school and called "ugly"constantly, so I suffered from low self esteem almost all my life.I tried everything and spent a small fortune on makeup, skincare and hair products just to feel better and be"beautiful" like the people we see in media.Back then, I didn't know that almost everything was photoshopped so I was very frustrated that my hair, skin, face and body didn't look "as good".
for me, the problem goes further than that - the procedures have became so widely accessible that new "natural" standards appear. I feel so bad about my first forehead mimic wrinkles at 32 just because nobody else seems to have them. I don't have enough money to make injections. Meanwhile, it IS NORMAL to start ageing after 30!
I have the smile lines around my mouth and wrinkles starting to appear around them. I’ve been feeling like I’m doomed because. I can’t afford to “fix” them.. I had to put things in perspective. Aging is inevitable. Do I have a roof over my head? Food? People I live in my life? Worrying about our appearance knowing we can’t afford to change it can be draining. I hope you ladies know you can still be attractive with wrinkles. We’re human.
I've had forehead wrinkles since I was 14. I'm 25 now and you can definitely tell I have fine lines. I drink water and have used skincare for years, but I just seem very prone to wrinkling on my forehead. It drives me crazy when I read online that I'm "too young" to have wrinkles. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!
@@laurahamilton8868 I've had them since I was young too! A lot of times it's just genetics. Also, if you're skin is lighter, it tends to age quicker too. Be sure to always use sunscreen even when in the car & winter, if you currently don't already do so. Also moisture! I have to use a cream & oil. If you're wrinkles make you feel insecure, like mine often do, I've found that Cover FX blurring primer significantly reduces the appearance of mine! Be sure to drink plenty of water, wash your face in the evening, gently massage the moisturize into your skin (I'm talking super light pressure, barely there), stress also increases the aging process (fun, I know) so try to limit that if you can, get enough sleep, etc. It's a lot & I'm sure you've already been doing most, if not all of these. I had to say something just in case though!
@@whitney8678 Thanks for the feedback! I've used sunscreen every day since I was 20 and eat stupid healthy. I've had a multitude of sleep issues my whole life (history of nocturnal epilepsy and insomnia) so I've never actually slept through the night before. I know my sleep is likely a big factor, but I unfortunately have been to a ton of doctors and there's really nothing I can do. My dad has super deep forehead furrows so I'm afraid genetics are probably working against me in this case. I'm also super Caucasian so that doesn't work in my favor either lol. I'm just trying my best to take care of my overall health and though I'm frustrated with my skin (years of cystic acne too) I've just given up and want to make sure I'm healthy internally, even though it may not show on the outside.
This is so important to talk about! I wish celebrities would be honest about work they've had done. So glad you tackled this, Cass!! I also love Lorry Hill's channel, for anyone who is looking for more videos like this. She does in-depth analysis of different celebrities' plastic surgery. Stephanie Lange also does a lot of Instagram vs. reality. So glad videos like this are coming out!!
Why does the public think they have the right to know stuff like this though? It’s personal. If they want to let others know that’s their choice not yours.
I always wonder what will happen when these surgery 'trends' die out. I mean, how do you undo all that filler/fat transfer etc? How these celebrities get away with selling lines based on a lie is truly shocking. Kylie Jenner is the worst of them all... she literally made most of her fortune based on her lip kits when her lips aren't even real! I feel so sorry for all the people who don"t feel good enough based on what they are actually seeing which is surgery, photoshop and filters. Please learn to love yourselves for who you are, not what society tells you to look like.
The stuff like BBLs or HA fillers will eventually breakdown (the human body doesn't like maintaining unnecessary cells or holding on to foreign stuff.) The ones that are going to cause longterm issues are going to be stuff like lip fillers; I wouldn't be surprised if there's an uptick in "lip skin reduction" surgeries in 10 years or so because so many people have maintained disproportionately large lips for years already.
@@lilrinna Yeah that’s the lips but what about the rest? Also there’s no way of knowing how these procedures will look when the person reaches old age either.
@@therachaeleditsome celebrities are developing body dysmorphia and you can actually see who. Bella hadid, kardashians, dove Cameron. They're starting to look really weird now. I mean bella hadid looks like she was in her 40s but shes barely 26 i think.
As a guy I’ve suffered a lot trying to work out and get a nice “instagrammable” body in the past. I used to follow so many guys with ripped abs and huge muscles. I even went down the rabbit hole of trying steroids. Ended up with a seriously herniated disc. Didn’t get the body I wanted. I stopped following every ripped guy on Instagram and I’m trying to accept my body the way it is, now I’m suffering with the consequences of imbalanced hormones due to steroid use and I have chronic pain on my lower back due to my herniated disc for 4 years 😔
My sympathies to you. I have issues with chronic pain. Though mine was from being hurt on the job and a car accident four months later. I tore the tendon in the rotator cuff and my disk was touching my spinal cord. I did a lot of reading to find the perfect pillow so I could actually sleep. Turns out latex was the best. Flexible yet firm. There are good doctor's in the world then again there are a lot of mediocre one's too. I wish you well.
I’m sorry you’re going through health issues But I’m happy that you love yourself enough to stop what wasn’t healthy for you I’m also proud of you giving a man’s perspective Bcuz we both know you’re not the only man who’s been down that rabbit hole 🕳 Stay safe
@@iuliaionelapetcu1411 exactly Its so refreshing cause all these celebs will deny it etc but shes so open and honest which I think alot of people love about her
Anitta cannot lie about her many surgeries, for they are all so obvious. She just cannot get away with it. A photo from her in her teens and a recent photo look like totally different women.
@@InnerTempleByDianaMotta yes obviously shes looks different but shes always been honest about them since the beginning. Plus aging and makeup makes her look different too the main difference is her nose and filler
@@nl887 that is a good thing about her: honesty. Although, she is still young; thus, aging could not have changed her, neither makeup. For, she shows photos makeup free and we can notice that the changes from her early years up to now are all procedures.
I love, love, love the inherent kindness used to address this. No demonizing, no shaming, no finger-wagging, but a lot of honest critiques about how cosmetic procedures are handled.
If they’re selling us something like cosmetics, clothing, a lifestyle or health supplements, then they should be held to a 100% transparency standard. I’m glad people are finally exposing these so called beauty secrets because we need to know that what they’ve had done is the main game changer vs their cosmetics, clothing or lifestyle choices.
Sometimes, I am SO grateful to be a woman "of a certain age" who no longer feels the need to compete with other women. Granted, I am not a celebrity whose paycheck depends on this fake perfection -- it must be crazy-making.
@@Stephaniacat I'm sure you're right. I just meant that I'm grateful to be past that. I still want to be beautiful, but it's on my own terms now. Thank goodness I'm not cursed with celebrity!
I caught up with my Aunty last weekend and she was saying that at her age now she feels like she is now more invisible, like she has reached the age where she is no longer in the male gaze and particularly young men would look right through her and she is loving it! Like obviously it’s not nice in the moment sometimes but she said it doesn’t even bother her as she just gets to do what she wants now and it’s liberating.
I’ve always had a lot of respect for celebrities that owned up to their plastic surgeries and never lied about it I.E Joan Rivers and Dolly Parton. They never tried to make it seem like they were just born that way and basically told the world no made myself look this way.
It really says something that the a big celebrity known for her natural beauty, Cindy Crawford, is the only one who has admitted to getting procedures done to maintain the fullness of her skin. Meanwhile à lot of these other celebrities who started out looking average, are trying to convince us they just magically became better looking naturally 😂. So sick of this plastic surgery trend because of what its doing psychologically to young women and girls. I also can't stand liars who insult people's intelligence and eyesight. It's like, you people have years worth of photos and footage for us to see the changes, do you think we're blind?? Its insulting but these people's fandoms are under a spell so they deny it for them as well. So odd.
Because I am a Beyoncé fan it took me awhile to believe that she has had work done in her body because she said she didn’t, but yes, she had work done in her body not specifically in her face 🤷🏼♀️.. She can do whatever she wants but I would love them to be a little more honest..
I remember looking all this celebs with small noses and I was feeling bad about mine. I visited a plastic surgeon and told me that I have the best nose with a good shape for my face and he won't do anything to me I don't feel bad about it anymore
Thanks for giving me endless entertainment during my depressive episodes 😭😅. Love always being able to see new content from you, especially on this topic.
I've had Botox for the past three to four years for my chronic migraines and every time I have a conversation with some members of my family or some friends they believe that I'm having it for cosmetic reasons. I've also had a deviated septem repaired to correct abnormalities from an autoimmune. There's too much stigma around these procedures and if it helps with your self esteem, the screw it. If it makes you feel beautiful then go for it but don't try to sell it as a cream, exercise or treatment.
And if your friends don't believe you, or if they continue to ask and be rude when you've clearly shown your discomfort with their behavior, then they're not really your friends, are they? You found your way to a medical remedy for your medical problem, so be strong and find your way to new friends. Peace and Love to you!
Yeeees I have had botox in my jaw cus i cletch it so hard at night. I bitten through every night guard and have migranes for days because of that. Botox finally helped but family members say :" i still dont think you need botox"
Omg I did a septoplasty and terbinectomy to be able to breathe and people expected my host to look different lol. I also want to do Botox for migraines and am trying to research it atm.
@@michellemybelle2263 They start off with Nerve Blocks before they move on to Botox but I can't recommend this enough if you have severe migraines. If the rescue meds with other meds aren't doing it, this really is a great way to get relief for months not hours
I disagree. If you are insicure about some of your features, why you should accept it if it doesn't make you happy? Pretty privilege is real! And it's statistically proven that attractive people get paid more. A good appearance can change your life, trust me
@@robertat.8817 but that doesn’t mean that we should all look the same! When I look at Kpop groups, I cannot for the life of me, tell them a part if not for their hair styles. They all have the same face!
Great, white privilege is also real, should I start bleaching my skin and hair? What a silly statement, I was never happy with how I looked due to the racism I've received, but accepting my own face, my own features is the only way forward
Cassandra, notice this. Before social media and influencers, celebrities were sought for their unrelated endorsements. Now companies recognise the strength of influencers and seek their endorsement instead, as influencers have specific strengths in their related market. That's why celebrities are so vocal about politics, because they want to stay relevant and relatable though they're not- outside of their performances.
Well… influencers give the appearance of being “regular people”, while some tv and movie or modeling folks are seen as “beauty blessed” beyond the “average.” I remember, when I first saw more and more media celebs, show up in tv and print ads, back in… maybe the early 2000’s?! Before then, small time… not very well known… actors and models got those gigs. For some of them, that was what paid their bills, since “bigger jobs” on tv shows and movies went to “fancier” actors or models. But then, ad agencies and marketing companies decided to use the most popular and “trendy sexy” big stars… who would probably not actually use or wear the stuff they fronted. (Think SJP or Jennifer Aniston and clothing from the Gap, for example.)
I'm with you on this! I can tell you has had some type of procedure done and if they're trying to get my money by trying to convince me to buy a product then I believe they should be honest about what they've actually had done as opposed to being sneaky about it. I love famous people who come right out with it because being sneaky does feed into body dismorphia and eating disorders - which I've had since I was 8 years old. Thanks so much for sharing!! ❤
Thank you for bringing up this very important topic, Cassandra! All those rich af celebrities lie to us to sell us products to make even more money. They can because they are... well, rich. They get away with being disrespectful to both common sense and their fans. All we can do is not give them our money and our pricey attention.
Love your straight talk and feel exactly the same way. At 50+, I’ve noticed that the older we get the more asymmetrical our faces become and gain character- I wouldn’t change it.
I'm not sure why anyone would give this video a thumbs down. She speaks the truth. I am so disgusted with the beauty industry and how fake and shallow our society is.
Idk how people are okay with plastic surgeries and all those injections for themselves. It looks scary, it's painful, it might be dangerous, and usually you have to recover after that for quite a while. I just feel that no beauty standards can make me do that just cause I'm so scared of needles and surgical knives.
As someone who has had Botox injected into my face I can tell you that, with a skilled professional, it doesn't hurt. Maybe a slight prick or pinch but it was less painful than a splinter. I was surprised by that.
There are various reasons why someone may get plastic surgery/Cosmetic procedures that are beyond just following beauty standards. Reconstructive plastic surgery can be life-saving. Same with surgery to help relieve gender dysphoria. You can even get Botox to help with migraines and can be used to treat other muscles spasms
Every thing you said is highly accurate But 1 thing I would like to Correct!!! Actually a Thread Lift IS NOT a non-invasive procedure. Any good plastic surgeant will tell you, that Thread Lifts do not last, so usually it was a solution to do, to see if the shape & lift would work & if you like it, to eventually do a blepharoplasty, which does last. A thread Lift is done with Stitches, which heals within 4 days, & is extremely painful as it heals, when the freezing wears off, which is local (you are fully awake for that procedure🙄) You can also feel something at times as your getting it done, which is aweful. Also, the scarring of a Thread Lift Is rough. 😑 especially if you have to get it redone every year? Why would you go through that amount of pain every 1 to 3 years to get a permanent wanted result? 😕 a blepharoplasty is safe, where you feel nothing (under general anesthesia, or local as you prefer) , if well done, does not bruise, & give permanent result (5-7 years. Cost ratio also is not that much cheaper, just something to think about! My blepharoplasty was done super well, I had very little pain, excellent healing result & I am happy I spent the extra money, so I don't have to be on an operating table by next year....like Bella Hadid ✌🏽
I don't blame them for getting plastic surgery. Pretty privilege is real in the current society. Women can make millions just base on their look. That's the problem...
It doesn't just favor women, and ot doesn't just affect career opportunities. There are studies showing that attractiveness influences jury verdicts and medical care; it's a deeply rooted and complicated issue.
Well yeah but the industry is toxic. They tell these celebrities all the time to get work done, do unhealthy things to achieve their look. For example certain drugs are encouraged to be used
I think you give them a huge benefit by assuming they aren’t just blatantly lying to use and somehow they’re being deceitfully honest. I think they’re just being strait up dishonest and lying, not telling a part truth
Thank you for talking about this! I struggle so much with my self esteem and need these types of reminders that "celebrity beauty" is not a realistic standard of beauty.
Thank you! Best vid ever. Both womens’ and mens’ body standards are outrageous at the moment yet they aren’t. Its a time where no one outwardly judges you for being outside of desireable appearances but silently they say to themsleves “why would you wanna look like that?!” While diminishing themsleves at the same time
Far too many people terrified to call it as we see it but you always do Cassandra so for that, thank you. omg don't even get me started on the "I got a nose job for medical issues" like yes that's true but septoplasty, deviated septum, hypertrophic turbinates do NOT CHANGE YOUR NOSE SHAPE!! i got a hypertrophy and a septoplasty and the doctor even said it does not alter your nose shape at all!! what you can do is combine both septoplasty and rhinoplasty but the procedure takes longer..
Thankyou for your in depth discussion around these issues, as someone who has hip dips despite doing the hard work at exercise, it's nice to understand why I may never look like this. It was the boost I needed to say that I am doing alright. Thankyou again! 😊
I remember being like 13 and thinking that im so so worthless and underserving of love because my hips are weirdly shaped, "unwomanly". It tool me many years to realise that in fact many women have hip dips.
I had vaguely heard of the concept of hip dips and been convinced for a long time they were considered a desirable feature, not something to get rid of! It was surprising and honestly just completely random to find out they were "bad".
@@sm3675 i can just be chill, now that i'm an adult. I just recently got a non surgical facelift done (facetite) and I plan to be 100% honest about it and am even making a video about it. I think transparency is important for reasons mentioned in this video with body dysmorphia and whatnot
God, I still think there's nothing sexier or more beautiful than a healthy human being, with all the work (physical, mental, emotional, intellectual) it takes to achieve. Oh and, I love this channel and how smart, honest and informed she is. Quite a professional. Love!
Great video! I was just talking with my daughter the other day about how all of the celebrities are starting to look alike. They all seem to be trying to look like the Kardashians. Maybe when everyone looks alike, unique beauty will be valued again.
Another thing, that idk of someone else said this but celebrities often do get only gradual surgeries or stock up on months worth so content that they can tweak and edit as it is being shown to the public by their team as they are in recovery. For example, you get a nose job. And as you are in recovery your team is slowly editing the photos and videos you took before recovery. This way it will not be a shock to the public.
Stuff like this be messing with ppl mental health especially teenagers because they don’t know any better til they get older and wiser and ppl like you teaching them these things.
Thank you Universe for this amazing woman! It's so refreshing to hear about celebrities being called out on their bullshit. This needs to reach as many people as possible.
@@acewingate6993 oh I definitely think you can say that someone who scams millions of people and spreads false and dangerous lies about health-related issues is a bad person.
"Where is that individuality? And if more and more people looked like a filtered version of themselves, how is someone supposed to love themselves unfiltered in the mirror" 👏👏👏
Agreed that a private individual who is getting surgery or other body/face changes for their personal confidence is quite different from a person who is literally using their body/face to sell products to people claiming that it will make it look more like them. There is a responsibility to be transparent for the latter, because they profit off of consumers vouching for a product or service.
One thing that celebrities do which is particularly evil is they blame unnatural changes on health or development. The best example is Kim Kardashian blaming the change in her nose to pregnancy.
Thanks for this video. I’m sick of the superficial ads that only talk about looking better. Also, it’s says a lot about the character of the celebrity that promotes a product that they don’t use. That’s why we shouldn’t idolize celebrities, only appreciate their talents and move on with our lives. Your information is crucial Cassandra and I’m glad that there are more people that are smarter with their money and how they spend their time. Once my mother went to a spa for a facial and one of the beauty specialists tried to get my mom to buy a face cream so she can look like “Jennifer Lopez.” My mom, thankfully aware, says, “I don’t want to look like Jennifer Lopez, in fact, she’s older than me.” I’m so glad she didn’t fall for that sales pitch and just the idea of looking like your favorite celebrity is enough to get someone to buy a face cream only to still look like themselves but maybe 2% more moisturized lol.
Couldn't have put it any better! High-school me splurged on all sorts of ridiculous products - thanks to the overwhelming amount of deceptive marketing and celebrity cowards... 😒
I’m so 100% with you… when it comes to celebs selling products they claim are “the only thing” that’s helping them achieve their look…. when in fact, they (also) use other products, methods, treatments, professional trickery like “special poses” and lighting in photography…. and then face filters and other photoshopping, to get that very look. And then there is the potential for them to not even use their own products… because they’re not that good… or other stuff is better.
I was always insecure about my nose but as long as I don't have medical issues with my body I won't do modifications.. if you're healthy you already live a better life than most people do.. be grateful for what you have instead of hateful for what you don't...
It’s about time! Thank you. Celebrity “worship” and comparison breaks people down in every way, adding to our society’s un-wellness. Let’s appreciate them for their individual contributions to their art, but go to educated experts to learn about wellness, mental health, physical health, politics and lifestyle.
People go to the plastic surgeon and ask them to recreate a specific celebrity's body parts. How are you going to feel when you're 80 and you're looking in the mirror at Paris Hilton's nose lol
OMG seeing you with cystic acne, then seeing your skin now gives me HOPE!! Have you shared your skincare journey?! I have struggled with hormonal acne for years and would love to know how you did it!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing
Asking celebrities to disclose their “work” is like asking magicians to explain their tricks. For both, it’s the illusion that matters. If you remove the veil there’s nothing left. No mystery and hence, no value. The celebrity is reduced to the everyday person and hence, no reason to venerate, admire, and most importantly, purchase what they’re peddling whether it’s a tv show, makeup, music, or movie.
Saying they don't feel comfortable talking about it is respectable. Flat out lying about it then selling a product saying you can have a similar look is deplorable and deceptive.
That is a terrible analogy, because when you watch a magician, you KNOW they are only performing a trick. However, celebrities create fake bodies and faces, but they lie and say it is real. They pretend it's natural and that there have been no "tricks" (surgery) involved.
Thank you for this!! I have had weight issues since puberty and nothing outside extremely regimental dieting and exercise has helped. My mom used to always point out that "so and so celebrity lost x kgs of weight in 6 months, you can do it too!"... while completely ignoring the fact that said celebrities have the luxury of time and money to work on their bodies. When I was unemployed and living off my savings + studying for certifications, I lost weight because I had nothing else to do at the time. That's what I dedicated the time to. Same thing during the first pandemic lockdown - with no commute and little work, I could focus on my body. It's difficult to give that much time to managing my weight when I have to travel to and from work, keep up with the housework, cook and shop for my own food and much more. For celebrities, their looks ARE their job - of course they're going to be near flawless! But we need to stop comparing ourselves to them... regular folk do not have the luxuries that they do.
A reconstructive rhinoplasty is not supposed to change 'esthetically' your does. The doctor should work 'inside' the nose. So if there is any change on the profile or the tip, that's already considered an esthetic procedure even if you have to correct your septum, as well
That’s not really true, if someone gets reconstructive rhinoplasty the outward appearance will change because the outward structure is determined to be what’s causing some or all of the breathing issues. I don’t really want to change the shape of my nose but was told that to improve my breathing the bridge of my nose would need to be widened and straightened in conjunction with a septoplasty. That being said, if someone says they’re getting a septoplasty and they come back with a different shaped nose that’s fishy because that surgery only impacts the septum not the outward appearance.
YES YES ALL OF THIS SO MUCH THIS - all the people who say, "it's none of our business what they've had done" or "you should assume they've all had work done" etc. aren't accounting for all the people who buy their promoted crap bc of the way they look... even subconsciously. they have SO much power and influence.
Thank you for this video, There is a real need for educational contents, I keep seeing customers coming to me with unrealistic expectations and self esteem issues,
As someone who gets botox and filler i love these videos! I know what im doing but its nice to know even with botox and filler why i dont look like other naturally!
OMG.. I WATCHED THE VIDEO OF YOU DOING A MAKEUP TUTORIAL TO CONCEAL YOUR ACNE SO MANY YEARS AGO.. I can't believe it's you, you are absolutely gorgeous!!!
I am tired of the “RUclips monitoring such and such for….” I am tired of people not being able to make their content and make money off of it because RUclips says “it’s too graphic, it’s too this, you can’t say certain words…”. No. It needs to stop. I am tired of watching videos that are bleeped out because they can’t say certain words. I want to watch educational videos that I enjoy (like this. Had no clue there was so much you could do) and I’m a nurse trying to figure out what area I want to go into when I grow up. 8 years of being a nurse and still too scared to go to DNP school. 😂 Keep making your great videos and keep doing great work.
thank you for sharing this. I knew these celebrities are not perfect and they lie to people. They still building their empire with the products they are selling
I was obese when I was younger and then Khloe started losing weight ...I don't really care about the Kardashians but I was inspired ,she even had a show about it guys and for years I had dysmorphia thinking something was wrong with my body because I wasn't losing weight the right way ..this was before puberty so yeah I was really in the pits I started learning more and discovered that it was plastic surgery...I thank God for my African genes because the body they paid for developed and I'm so thankful and then I stopped being extreme and embraced my passion for food
This video is very helpful for some like me. I’ll look at the pics these people post & just give up trying “what’s the point I’ll never look like that” Thank you
I have an upturned nose and before it was cool I got called pig nose. I also have a naturally large butt and again before it cool I got teased ruthlessly for it. I will never understand why certain features go in and out of style.
It's so nice to watch a video on social issues, disclosure, and credibility of celebrities because I, too, think these are important issues. Thank you for this video!
Well, there is no way one gets younger skin in their 40s and 50s without undergoing plastic surgeries and fillers. I am glad plastic surgeons are now also on social media, and they tell people that all these celebrities are in no way telling us the truth. I learned all these years that if you want to reduce wrinkles and saggy skin, be prepared for surgeries, financially, mentally, and physically. There is no way you get younger and look younger by just applying creams, and not even yogas can help you overnight. P.S. Just stop sugary, unhealthy carbs and artificial drinks if you want to age gracefully. Massage your skin correctly, keep yourself hydrated, exercise regularly, AND accept aging.
agreed! if celebs go into the skincare or health industry and promote whatever- by all means do so, but be transparent about what is and isn't real cause you wouldn't want to be scammed so why do it to others. there isn't harm for you to be real like all transparency will do is change the industries for the better, why wouldn't you want that?
Thank you for raising more awareness to this subject. I do think there should be more clarity. The average person is more than aware of Filters from an App or Photoshop so it's healthy to remind ourselves it's not All true, but also it's likely the celebs are often endorsers.
Thanks for making this video. I’m 38 years old and I don’t know whether it’s a midlife crisis thing or what, but I’m noticing changes in my body and skin that bother me. I’ve found myself researching cosmetic procedures and then realized there’s no way I want to risk hurting myself. I do think there’s an unfair image of women out there, and I let that get to me. I need to go back to me! The girl who never cared about fitting in and following what’s popular. And embrace my wrinkles, scars and stretch marks....they mean I’ve been through a lot and survived. I do think if this keeps up everybody’s going to look the same lol. No thanks! 😊
Thank you for this video! It can be really frustrating for young people to fall for the lies some celebrities are saying. Honestly I'm pretty confident Ariana Grande had a face lift. Because a friend of mine looks exactly the same after she did hers. Really don't get why to do it at such a young age but it's their choice...Apparently my friend was hiding it from everybody as well saying she just lost a lot of weight. It feels like they want to fool everybody but it's impossible because clearly a face changes drastically after any surgery.
Very good video that sheds light on famous people who have undergone cosmetic procedures. You're right..it's not fair that famous people should say that certain skincare products are responsible for their beauty when infact it's cosmetic procedures.
Loved the video and perspective. We need more people like you who can show the other side of influencer marketing and people spoiling other people's lives making people and kids feel inadequate. ❤️
Also because of all that a lot of people think you can be naturally pretty and besides even if they the truth, the are still millions of people wanting look like them especially because of the surgeries but also some people stop wanting to look them
And all because people like us buying their products
Please RUclips, leave videos like this alone. They make us realize that money is what helps a lot of people look the way they do. We are surrounded by liars and truth like this just makes us think, just think. Thank you Cassandra.
You have to thumbs up the videos you believe in. Commenting alone won't achieve the goal.
Sadly... MSMtube doesn't give a shit about how you feel.
But still they are not responsible for your insecurities
@@AC-bk1jg Oh for sure they are not, they are just liars who want people to think they look this way. Kind of a catfish situation.
@@marypalmer2088 Yes! I agree ☝️ because this is societal representation of what “beauty” is suppose to look like.
Especially with nose jobs. Noses don't suddenly get smaller, no matter how much you "hit puberty".
in fact noses look bigger after puberty partly because they continue growing and also because we lose fat in our faces.
My nose actually got smaller (less inflammation/width) when I stopped eating dairy and started taking care of my body.
@@alexatorres6248 ik but it doesn't get rid of the bridge
My nose did get smaller after puberty
Denying you've had procedures done is so irresponsible when you have millions of people looking up to you, especially when it's partly for your looks... also it's sad how all celebrities just have the same face now even though they were pretty before too
@sabina right and that make me so mad... Really imagine all the little girls look
up to them thinking there is something wrong with their appearances.
@@rahmonafaridian9982 nobody thinks they actually care, the entire point of my comment was that when they act like that they shouldn't be supported
@@LladyDisturbed Exactly! You do you! And I bet no one would suspect it?? If it looks good (natural not phony), then go for it! ❤️
But that is the magic. If you are a celeb you have to play a role of being perfect and untouchable. Otherwise they would be like us. It’s just about status. It’s conceptual
There’s also an other way people get around saying they never had a certain procedure.
It’s called ✨🌈LYING🌈✨
Them showing “proof” also means nothing
Which Ariana grande does..she literally straight up lies about her nose 💀💀
Revolutionary :O
I learnt to accept myself the way I am. Today we have lost so much of our individuality because our ethnic features are seen as unattractive. Its weird that most people want to look alike now
I hate when celebrities say they're proud of they're ethnic backgrounds and suddenly change their nose or facial features to look more Caucasian.
@@Stephaniacat Caucasian people have many different ethnic backgrounds. I think you meant European centric features.
True, that's why Im okay with my nose even though it's not very like cute short type like others people's. Atleast I can be an individual owo
@@tanyas6643 yep; I did JLO’s video over a year ago.

Same😞
Same
for me, the problem goes further than that - the procedures have became so widely accessible that new "natural" standards appear. I feel so bad about my first forehead mimic wrinkles at 32 just because nobody else seems to have them. I don't have enough money to make injections. Meanwhile, it IS NORMAL to start ageing after 30!
Yes! I feel where you're coming from. I've had forehead wrinkles for years & I HATE them.
They don't want to admit the surgeries cause they want to appear naturally gorgeous
I agree. I also watch Lori Hill & Stephanie Lange! 😊
I watch both of them too:) lovely ladies!!
Then everyone will go get the same surgery. How are they gonna be prettier to make money 😂
Why does the public think they have the right to know stuff like this though? It’s personal. If they want to let others know that’s their choice not yours.
Honestly with the resources these celebs have, they could literally cover up anything with their marketing team.
Good video of calling them out 👍
I always wonder what will happen when these surgery 'trends' die out. Please learn to love yourselves for who you are, not what society tells you to look like.
yes!! I totally agree with you.
They are able to dissolve lip filler. I've seen several beauty influencers who have had them dissolved and their lips went back to normal.
@@lilrinna Yeah that’s the lips but what about the rest? Also there’s no way of knowing how these procedures will look when the person reaches old age either.

So odd.

Well… influencers give the appearance of being “regular people”, while some tv and movie or modeling folks are seen as “beauty blessed” beyond the “average.”
I remember, when I first saw more and more media celebs, show up in tv and print ads, back in… maybe the early 2000’s?!
This is why I never watch Miss World or something like that. Unrealistic ideals.
Pretty privelige has always existed, its sadly nothing new
It doesn't just favor women, and ot doesn't just affect career opportunities. There are studies showing that attractiveness influences jury verdicts and medical care; it's a deeply rooted and complicated issue.
@@Kiterpuss Don't forget that many women intentionally do not want to be "pretty" due to being abused as children.
😂
The knowledge she is providing is so appreciated in this so unreal world we live in
Thank you for talking about this! I struggle so much with my self esteem and need these types of reminders that "celebrity beauty" is not a realistic standard of beauty.
Thank you! Best vid ever. Both womens’ and mens’ body standards are outrageous at the moment yet they aren’t. Its a time where no one outwardly judges you for being outside of desireable appearances but silently they say to themsleves “why would you wanna look like that?!” While diminishing themsleves at the same time
The fact that so many celebrities make a living just by selling a look is an issue in and of itself.
Far too many people terrified to call it as we see it but you always do Cassandra so for that, thank you. Literally opened my eyes to all the secretive madness that's out there because for a long time I assumed it was literally just photoshop! I've learnt so much from you! Big love and thanks from the UK
And people keep saying is just puberty lol. These celebrities are getting procedures younger so you can't pin point what they did.
Definitely true. The trend is liposuction then transfer of fat targeted towards the breast and butt
omg don't even get me started on the "I got a nose job for medical issues" like yes that's true but septoplasty, deviated septum, hypertrophic turbinates do NOT CHANGE YOUR NOSE SHAPE!! i got a hypertrophy and a septoplasty and the doctor even said it does not alter your nose shape at all!! what you can do is combine both septoplasty and rhinoplasty but the procedure takes longer..
@@heroinheroine6929 I just realized that hip dips were considered "ugly" from social media. Just chill and don't stress yourself.
If they are honest about the "work" they had done, they would be poor by now. Same with politicians m if they were honest, 98% would be out of it.
@@sm3675 i can just be chill, now that i'm an adult. But as a teenage girl in the era of instagram and augmented photoshoped reality, i would never be chill, and i believe current teenage girls also have this problem. Every part of female body is being scrutinized in the public eye, especially if you are a model/actress or just decided to post your pixtures to any Social media.
Thank you 🙏🏽 as a mother of three beautiful daughters, who grew up at their most body sensitive, and body aware time in their lives under the “ influencer age “… I can attest dear YOU TUBE, that reality is preferred… not even “kinda”… definitively preferred… as opposed to “ the delusion” thank you for your beautiful and beautifully simple - truth♥️
I just recently got a non surgical facelift done (facetite) and I plan to be 100% honest about it and am even making a video about it. I think transparency is important for reasons mentioned in this video with body dysmorphia and whatnot
Nowadays natural beauty in celebrities is like an endangered species, very rare to find. Excellent video!
God, I still think there's nothing sexier or more beautiful than a healthy human being, with all the work (physical, mental, emotional, intellectual) it takes to achieve.
Oh and, I love this channel and how smart, honest and informed she is. Quite a professional. Love!
The work they've had done becomes really obvious when you see a picture of them when they're younger and then you see a picture of them now.
Great video! I was just talking with my daughter the other day about how all of the celebrities are starting to look alike. They all seem to be trying to look like the Kardashians. Maybe when everyone looks alike, unique beauty will be valued again.
Love what your doing with your experience with acne and how you are using it to help so many other people with their skin
People don't like the truth but once people start loving them selves they will be strong.
Love her. She is not afraid to call out the B.S. and there is so much of it.
I could say that Gwyneth Paltrow is a good actress but I wouldn't say she's a "good" person!
I don’t think it’s up to us to decide that
@@acewingate6993 oh I definitely think you can say that someone who scams millions of people and spreads false and dangerous lies about health-related issues is a bad person.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING OUR MENTAL HEALTH
One thing that celebrities do which is particularly evil is they blame unnatural changes on health or development. The best example is Kim Kardashian blaming the change in her nose to pregnancy.
The important thing is that we like ourselves even if others don’t. We will find happiness if we do things to feed our spirit, not our ego ✌️
Well said!
I'm so glad you also mentioned body image for men.
Aaaand heree she is, the Skin Goddess herself, Ms. Cassnadra Bankson!!
This is the best video done on this topic, it's respectful and highlights why it's important to know if a celeb had cosmetics procedure.
Thank you for being honest. For the sake of our mental health
Thank you for this video, There is a real need for educational contents,
I keep seeing customers coming to me with unrealistic expectations and self esteem issues,
Your integrity is admirable. Thank you for your work and caring for others.
As someone who gets botox and filler i love these videos! I know what im doing but its nice to know even with botox and filler why i dont look like other naturally!
I literally had no idea about these "influencers" and celebrity nonsense. I'm so glad!
You explain this stuff so wonderfully. Easy to understand for someone who doesn’t know about these procedures. ❤️
Now, this is the kind of video I wanna see from you. Where you're not lying. I love you so much.
Cassandra you are the real deal! Thank you for the enlightenment.💛🦋
OMG.. I WATCHED THE VIDEO OF YOU DOING A MAKEUP TUTORIAL TO CONCEAL YOUR ACNE SO MANY YEARS AGO.. I can't believe it's you, you are absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you for this video! I have OCD and was previously obsessed with anti-aging products.
I just use retinol and it's the only facial product I use besides a moisturizer and face wash.
Keep making your great videos and keep doing great work.
thank you for sharing this. I knew these celebrities are not perfect and they lie to people. They still building their empire with the products they are selling
Best video about procedures. The market creates new insecurities every day and then sells us the solution.
I was obese when I was younger and then Khloe started losing weight ...I don't really care about the Kardashians but I was inspired ,she even had a show about it guys and for years I had dysmorphia thinking something was wrong with my body because I wasn't losing weight the right way ..this was before puberty so yeah I was really in the pits
I started learning more and discovered that it was plastic surgery...I thank God for my African genes because the body they paid for developed and I'm so thankful and then I stopped being extreme and embraced my passion for food
This video is very helpful for some like me. I’ll look at the pics these people post & just give up trying “what’s the point I’ll never look like that”
Thank you
I have an upturned nose and before it was cool I got called pig nose. I also have a naturally large butt and again before it cool I got teased ruthlessly for it. I will never understand why certain features go in and out of style.
I always got called fat for my butt too. Now I’m called slim thicc which I find hilarious. 😂
I Agree 1000%. These are points I've been making for yrs
No thanks! 😊
You are SO refreshingly honest!
Watch Lori Hills channel...she just did Arianna Grande and she did get a pony tail face lift.
@@pochpower8084 what do you mean?
Very good video that sheds light on famous people who have undergone cosmetic procedures. You're right..it's not fair that famous people should say that certain skincare products are responsible for their beauty when infact it's cosmetic procedures.
I’m not usually a commenter, but this was seriously great and more people need to see this
Loved the video and perspective. We need more people like you who can show the other side of influencer marketing and people spoiling other people's lives making people and kids feel inadequate. ❤️
