- I’m trying my Northern Lights flip cup again, with some changes to the base color after last week’s black paint ate up all my colors! This time I’m doing two flip cups, one with a black base and one with a dark navy blue base.

Black (Apple Barrel)
Dark Navy (Phthalo Blue from Blickrylic and Blick Studio Acrylics, with some Apple Barrel Black added)
Quinacridone Rose (Creative Inspirations)
Light Magenta (Master’s Touch Acrylics)
Purple (Master’s Touch Acrylics)
Brilliant Yellow Green (Blick Studio Acrylics - with some semigloss white house paint and some other green and yellow added)
Ocean Green (Master’s Touch Acrylics)
White (Sargent)

Bravo! I'm pretty proud of this remake of your acrylic painting you did last week I can see all the colors Black, Pink and Green instead of the Black almost eating all the colors the only thing is that during the drying process the black makes the painting look like cells the more you retry the better you'll become even your fail paintings

I think you captured the essence of the northern lights and I love the green you got on the second one. That first looks galactic to me with the explosion of pink. I really love the navy background. I wish I could have seen the lights in Texas but it was cloudy. I’m glad you did though. ❤

Can you try using your colors as the swipe medium? A swipe for each color on a night sky base? In my head, it looks like the northern lights.
My swipes aren't ready for that but you have skills!

I wonder if not using Aus Floetrolbut another that is now so reactive, will give a veil of colour rather than the cells. We had the A Australia’s here in Tasmania, too.
