    Ive had trouble accepting that I'm not good enough to make something look like a photo...but the best advice I got was "if someone wanted a photo they would just take a photo" accept your own style 😊

    • @behzadutube
      @behzadutube 6 месяцев назад +8

      Same level of skills here. I see it differently though. There is no such thing as "ACCEPTING your style". Accepting sounds more like accepting that you cannot get any better. The idea behind mastering skills of realistic paintings is that only when you can re-produce reality with all its nuances, you can tweak it with full control and develop a meaningful genuine consistent style. Any perceived "style" before that is merely lack of skills and out of your control, and cannot be pursued and matured into an identity of an artist. Of course, if you paint for fun it is a different thing. In any case, let's not give up! :)

      As an artist and photographer, I can say that taking photos is not the same as painting realism. They are worlds apart. I get a lot of clients pay me to do realistic portraits of pets from photos...sometimes photos I took myself which they could have just had blown up into a canvas but paid for a painting instead...in realistic style....so yes, there is a point to it. To them and me, they are not the same.
      All this said, I think a lot of people develope a bitterness towards realism due to now being able to achieve it themselves to a standard they would like or feeling they have to do it because it is the thing to do. In reality, they are free to pursue whatever style resonates best with them. I don't think anybody is telling all artists they all need to do realism.
      I enjoy various different styles but it never means I feel the need to criticize styles I am not so much into. They all have a place. Let others create what they want because even when it comes to looser styles, everything has been done and there is literally nothing new so they are not really being anymore creative than realist artists...

      @@behzadutubeyou get better, eventually you get to a level that is acceptable for public viewing… as an artist you’ll probably never be happy. Even in your own style the art will improve, that’s the ideal scenario. For me I’m shit but only just starting. I learnt guitar really well in a year so hopefully can learn painting too 😂

    In my experience, a lot of people just want decoration... You can present them the most beautiful 100 hours-complex piece of art, and they will choose the other one. Right now I'm doing half and half what they want and what I love creating myself 😋 That works well.

    The hardest thing for me as an artist is to find my own style , and stop copying reference exactly how it is. I think it limits my creativity , sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new even if it doesn't always work out how you want it to be.

    I was excited when you went for more realism in the eyes. The eyes made this painting pop. It is abstract and loose, but the eyes make it seem realistic. So much beauty. I have a difficult time with changing my art style, I always want to make it realistic. This was so refreshing. Now it makes me want to try it

    I 100% agree with the wanting to make something that looks like art, when i was about 18 my aspiration was to be a great artist that could make something so you couldnt tell if it was a photo or not, i saw that as talent and i was actually making some pretty realistic paintings, but you see i would always want to paint every single hair, every part of it had to be smooth to the canvas, i was a perfectionist, yes my art looked pretty good but it also was extremely tiring and i eventually stopped because i had trouble finishing paintings because of all the effort it required.
    Now im a bit older and getting back into it with a whole new perspective, im following artists that i never would have before, these are more real down to earth people who are making art whether its perfect or not, i am trying to find once again what my style is.
    I still have a love for realism, however the main goal of mine is similar to yours, i wish to free up the style and have more fun with it, make it realistic but also have some elements in there that make it your own. Ive been watching a few of your videos now and I'm hoping to re-teach myself again and i feel like you have a lots of useful tips so thank you for your great videos you are helping people like me on the journey to making something great once again.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can absolutely agree. I really like your latest painting. This is so much more wonderful than “just” a photorealistic painting. For me photorealistic paintings don’t transit feeling and emotins. There is nothing to see or find in them. But this more “abstract” style let me dive deep into the painting and feel it.

Thank you so much for sharing your work and your perspectives towards things. You have an amazing talent and a beautiful yet unique perspective towards art! That's quite fascinating. Besides, it takes a lot of courage to choose the path you love, rather than what comes your way. You did that, and that's great!

    Started painting a few weeks ago, and have been on the acrylic painting rabbit hole since then. I discovered, quite by accident, that I actually do have artistic abilities after I watched a painting video and decided to give it a go. I've got quite the ways to go before I can create art like this, but I'm currently working on a piece and just winging it to see how it goes. That's the best way to learn, just see what happens. Maybe it works out, maybe not.

    The other thing I’d suggest, don’t compete. Have an abundant mindset. The trick is for people to connect with you, which I think you are going to be able to do easily having watched your videos. Create experiences around the purchase process - one person I’ve heard of creates a whole show event with entertainment. Sells loads. People buy you, as well as the art. Selling one offs is good, but becoming collectible is another level. All the best 😊 (oh… I’m a northerner as well)

    I used gesso on canvas to make textures and in a few months it broke and fell off the fabric because it does not have enough flexibility. If it were to be used on a board it might work. But since then I prefer to use acrylic paste for the volumes, which is more flexible and it grips better.

    I am new to painting and I love your paintings. My goal(s) is to paint one of your paintings. You make it look easy but I am still struggling. Can you tell me if you use a pencil to sketch first? If so, what kind of pencil(s) do you recommend?
