When doing it with a donor egg they gather several at the same time. Then they can use both of your specimens to fertilizer the eggs, they also can implant as many as you want, within reason. So they can do both and you get what you get no one would have to know. After all it will be yours no matter the donors. Its not the donors or the sperm that make a good parents, its the love and attention. You Two will be the greatest parents. If there was a place were the unborn could pick their parents you two would have already shaped up. I'm so happy for you and your venture into Parenthood.
I have another question too - would the baby feel abandoned by their biological mother, since she sold them? Would they miss out on the connection to their mother and getting to experience that? Trying to think how I would feel if I was in that baby/child’s place.

as i was growing up my family would casually mention that i was adopted and what it meant. that’s also a good way to explain to your kid how they came to be and the process you guys went through🖤
You could both give samples to the lab and ask them to pick whichever has the best swimmers, but ask for that to remain private. That way it could feel like both of you :)
that's a good method. you can also base it on genetic health. If either of you have genetic conditions you're worried about get tested to figure out the likelihood of passing to a child. then decide from there who you want to be donor

Haven’t even gotten 5 minutes in and I can already relate to the struggle. My wife and I looked into starting the process a few years ago. However, since I wanted to use a sperm donor we actually knew (who lived out of state) the logistics of transportation, trying monthly, and restrictive state laws we decided that it just wasn’t going to work out for us financially. We’re planning to do foster to adopt down the road when some of our fur babies cross the rainbow bridge (again - restrictive state laws with agencies). It can be so heartbreaking to know there are people out there that can have a baby without even thinking about it. I wish you both nothing but the best experience!

You could both give samples to the lab and ask them to pick whichever has the best swimmers, but ask for that to remain private. That way it could feel like both of you :)
that's a good method. you can also base it on genetic health. If either of you have genetic conditions you're worried about get tested to figure out the likelihood of passing to a child. then decide from there who you want to be donor

Haven’t even gotten 5 minutes in and I can already relate to the struggle. My wife and I looked into starting the process a few years ago. However, since I wanted to use a sperm donor we actually knew (who lived out of state) the logistics of transportation, trying monthly, and restrictive state laws we decided that it just wasn’t going to work out for us financially. We’re planning to do foster to adopt down the road when some of our fur babies cross the rainbow bridge (again - restrictive state laws with agencies). It can be so heartbreaking to know there are people out there that can have a baby without even thinking about it. I wish you both nothing but the best experience!
