You are missed "Our Lady SUPREME Mary Wilson"... Pop Music Royalty.. RIP Lady Mary....
Mary Wilson had a great career that lasted for decades. She was stayer and survived all the ups and downs, a true star ❤️
I’m really enjoying all these tributes and interests for Mary Wilson, it proves that she was for more talented and important than it seemed! Great Video!
I met Mary Wilson after one of her concerts (sold out) and she was so gracious, friendly and funny! to all of us. She was VERY respectful in her concert with regards to The Supremes and each individual member. Just a class act.
Thank you for this comment!
I never saw this video until today, great job done! Mary Wilson my favorite Supreme RIP!
Motown was pretty ruthless. Thank you for covering her career. RIP Mary🕊
I wouldn’t go as far to say ruthless, but a lot of the decisions made concerning their artist I don’t agree with. Thank you for watching!
Ruthless how? They made her rich. She never stopped riding The Supremes or Diana Ross' coattails--- and she was able to make tons of money doing that
@@ournb5811 no they were very much ruthless and cunning. A lot of Motown are family members, I question was that out of love or for manipulation.
Mary was my favorite Supreme love her forever
Thank you for your comment! She was certainly one of a kind and will be missed!
Truly the "Supreme" Supreme!!...Love & miss you Mary....you will always be Motown Royalty!!
Wow. So well done and a great tribute to my favorite Supreme.
Thank you for this comment!
RIP Mary my fàvourite and special supreme
THIS is so beautifully "INCREDIBLE", perfect or NOT! It's in the SPIRIT of whats presented that's the Well-DUE......in time to set the record straight, but too late to make 'the difference' where it counts, and that 'TO HER' while she liveth. Because the lady worked harder, and more incessantly that anyone really seems to recognize that dares to think adversely OF her! The RECORD SHOWS, SHE TOOK THE BLOWS, AND DID IT 'HER WAY', which was a way that NO OTHER COULD'VE, PERIOD! And it shows because at her untimely passing, which STILL seems SOOOO UNREAL...., I've NEVER in my entire LIFE Seen such outpouring of love, adoration, admiration, respect, recountings of favorable encounters WITH, and PROFOUND Testimonies of Life Experiences WITH Mary, or induced, or influenced BY Ms. Wilson.....from all over the world, that never have STOPPED COMING to this day......THIS being an example! I've even seen political based formatted programs STOP their presentation to give a whole period of acknowledgement OF the EFFICACY OF Miss MARY WILSON. It literally BLEW MY MIND! This had NOTHING to do with music of ANY measure. But they DID it VALIANTLY like we've lost a very prominent SOLDIER of the states, and we HAVE! She DEFINITELY WAS a SOLDIER-ess FOR our country and acknowledged as such BY our government, as well as for the music legends and industry in the working and spearheading the lobbying for rights for musicians and artists and etc. that had not been taken seriously or respected as bona fide AMERICANS' legal RIGHTS.......and made MAJOR headway in the changing of that! {I may have to do my OWN video.... heh heh!} She DID ALL of this while maintaining her own interests as well as keeping the legacy GROWING with respect and love and not allowing it to be obliterated into just a passing vehicle of success that didn't mean anything anymore to anyone. THAT was truly NOT fact. But it seemed to have been the 'agenda' of some. But She has 'TAKEN CARE OF IT" while she was here, (I STiLL CAN'T Grip that!!!!!), and it will Certainly continue to multiply now that she's away! God Bless You for contributing to the 'perpetuacy'! I Honor your doing, your effort, and your heart behind what you do, and may it spill out into EVERYTHING that you DO! Blessings, Carl
You are the heart me and don't let the tear drops brother you,....can measure with any Supremes hits
She definitely made the most of her opportunities.
A HEART LIKE MINE
Love you 4 ever Mary Wilson ❤
Jean Terrell saved the Supremes group with her incredible golden voice. Gordy was terrified that with Terrell as lead, the group would distract public attention from Ross, so he eventually pulled his support away from them.
Mary's contribution to the SUPREMES was just as significant as Diana's. She, unlike Florence, played her postion which will forever include her on the "right side" of history. Diana, on the other hand will be remembered for a much "trash" as her "triumphs." The clear WINNER of the "game" is the one who endured - Ms. WILSON #QueenSupreme
may her soul rest In peace
FLO AND MARY ARE THE REAL TRUE SUPREME PERIOD
Sorry u comments are ridiculous...sorry!!
And you’re delusional.. PERIOD
@@dddddadadad1796 i dont think so...the Supremes were Florence, Mary snd Diana...Period!!
Stop lying, one couldn't sing no better than other, without Diana they wouldn't went nowhere.
@@cravendubose3024 stop being hateful you" Diana Ross Stan's". Mary and Florence are no longer stop spreading your hate and negativity they are no longer here y'all will still speak horribly on them I hope you all get the karma you deserve for speaking ill on the deceased. That's how evil and immature you guys are.
LOVE this! Thank you!
I heard a few songs from the other two members and I think they were quite good I really liked Flo's.
Can you do florence ballard
❤how Supreme Diana, Mary, and Flo
Too bad for the fans not having an original member tour with Mary, Cindy, & Diane, because of $$$ disputes. The fans made the Supremes! Now with Mary gone, this can never happen
Thank god for Jean Terrell. Her coming in finally gave The Supremes a lead singer with talent. The 70s were incredible.
No one beat Lady Di , 12 no. 1 hits with her as lead singer
@@erossinema8797 she's certainly no lady and personally I'd sooner burst my ear drums than listen to her attempt to sing. Sleeping with the right people certainly helped her push herself forward that's for sure!
@@Bananadiva1 , At first I thought you were referring to Mary Wilson. Mary would definitely make anyone run for their ear plugs, but not Diana. And that's your opinion about Diana Ross being eardrum splitting. She had a pleasant shrill..
She gave the group (which really wasn't a group after Motown got their hands on them), 12 No. 1 Hits.
If Mary and all these other ho-hum Supremes were such wonderful singers ,where are their No.1 solo hits? Diana Ross has 6 or more if you count her European hits. . And Diana Ross did not have Berry's help after 1980. Where are Mary's massive worldwide sold out arena dates? The 70's Supremes were a lower tier stage act---couldn't sell records to save their lives after their two hits.
Diana Ross at the height of her career easily sold out Wembley Stadium as a solo act. There were over 500,000 people at her free concert in New York in 1983. Mary and Jean , Lynda, Scherie, Susaye, and "ShaNayNay" and "Pootangtay", do or did the funnel cake circuit. Diana Ross sang for kings and queens, Russia's Royal Kremlin Palace, heads of state.
Slept with the right people? At least she had the smarts to do that and not just fuck any dick like Mary's loose gonorrhea dripping vajayjay--- Tom Jones, Flip Wilson and everything else. Then ,Mary killing her son.."Lovely".. And since when do people buy records and concerts based on who someone fucked? That applies to the porn industry. Diana Ross has never worked in the porn industry. Y'all just can't accept that Diana Ross had the IT factor. I watch old clips of her when she was a Supremes and a solo performer. You can't take your eyes off her. She pops and sparks. No tricks in those days, just talent.
@@erossinema8797 blah blah blah 🥱🥱🤗
@@Bananadiva1 they aren't worth it. We will just ignore them and their derogatory behavior .
I LOVE ***MISS MARY WILSON***. SHE LEFT. I RETIRED ON TO WORK. ON SPECIAL PROJECTS. UNDYING LOVE FOR HER IN MY SELF ENCLOSURE FROM SOCIAL LIFE. DARLING I LIVE TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN PARADISE (❤️❤️❤️ KISSES AND HUGS AGAIN ?)
I want Christopher Williams to do a remake of "You're whats Missing in my life"
Ross will soon leave this world but will never end up with Mary and Flo as they will be in a different place than Ross who will need a never ending air conditioner.
I loved Diana Ross and the Supremes, but what I loved was the trio effect. I fell in love with Diana's voice from day one.
I do understand that Mary was an integral part of the Supremes, but I also understand that anyone with a modicum of talent and who looked the part could do what she did. Clearly, Mary had enough substance to be able to make a living from being associated with the Supremes. But I always felt this kind of envious energy from her. The saying goes that "Water seeks its own level" and just wanting to be something is not always enough.
I do understand that as kids she might have felt a bit badly about Diana being pushed to the front. However, despite her bellyaching about how unfairly she was treated at Motown, she had over 50 years to make superstardom and prove Diana or Gordy wrong and was not able to do it. I am certain that neither Berry nor Diana stood in her way for half a century. I've always felt a bit sad that Mary never really invested herself in mining her natural gift for ballads or jazz. Instead, she spent all of her energy trying to compete with Diana which was a losing game because she didn't possess the same kind of appeal. I also found it most interesting that she went on national television to complain about the Return to Love Tour, while she was running all over singing Diana's songs including Someday We'll Be Together which she didn't even appear on.
They were not just Ross’ songs. Mary did sing on the majority off their hits. To be technical they belong to HDH as they wrote those songs. Ross is a narcissist ego maniac.
I wonder how the public would react if the Andantes began to go on the road singing Diana's songs and claiming that they were their songs? The only real difference between Mary and the Andantes is that she was a visible part of the songs. Beyond that fact, Mary was a background singer. Just like the Andantes. Is what it is.
As Berry said, "Mary was the heart and soul of the Supremes" HDH said, "Mary was the one who mediated the drama in the group to hold it together".
@Myron's Corner - Someday We'll Be Together was sold as a recording of Diana Ross and The Supremes, and it was purchased on good faith that it was a recording by Diana Ross & the Supremes, so Mary Wilson, as a Supreme, was entitled to sing that song on that premise alone. Had the song been released as the "Lead Singer and Whoever Else" then I'd see your point, but it wasn't, blame the business for that, not Mary. And Mary never sang Diana Ross songs as you put it, she only sang SUPREMES songs among others. Everything you wrote is a bunch of nonsense followed up with more nonsense. For goodness sake, who else is mainstream media going to seek when the number one American Rock act of the 60s is reuniting, less an ORIGINAL founding member. Oh, that's not newsworthy? @Myron's Corner, I see gray in your mustache, you're not a kid.
Interesting take. Thank you for watching!
Jean and Lynda leave The Supremes, not Jean and Cindy. Lynda replaced Cindy in 1972 or 1973. After Cindy's pregnancy, she returned in alongside Scherrie Payne (new member).
Thank you for the correction!! I strive to make my videos as accurate as possible, but sadly sometimes I make mistakes.
I’m hoping you have a video coming up on Gladys Knight
When Mary first spoke of the tour, I knew it wasn't going to happen, fans said why not... I say no salderity they would have been sitting down together
If I were around then, I would have probably thought the same thing too.
Thank you for your comment!
We should stop fighting like school children. Mary is gone and happy, I guess, wherever she is. And she deserves it. I do not why, but I prefer Mary's interviews in old age, she is hilarious, as in the Tamron Hall show. Diana Ross has other things to worry about right now, for example, the lack of success of her lackluster 2021 musical comeback. And in the end, the truth is (I read this somewhere) that the real good singer of the original Supremes was Mary Wilson. I suspect she knew that...
Interesting take.
Yeah, let’s stop fighting … and attack Diana Ross? Didn’t Wilson do enough to damage Diana with her bitching?!
Betty McGlown was an original Primette. She was replaced with Barbara Martin who left before they got a hit
👍
Mary was petty sometimes. I think she let all that go before she died. She's at peace.
Can you please make a video on Mariah Carey?
Mary Wilson’s biggest mistake was not listening to Berry Gordy at the crossroads. Syreeta Wright would’ve carried The Supremes throughout the 70’s! Plus she came with unlimited access to Stevie Wonder. Jean Terrell ended up leaving Mary at the drop of a dime. While treating her like trash after she went to bat for her.
This is an interesting take. Whereas Diana bended to Berry’s will, with her exit Mary took a decidedly different approach. She should have considered his advice more.
@@ournb5811 People love to blame Diana Ross for how things turned out. The truth is when Mary assumed leadership, she made some horrible decisions. From sticking with Jean Terrell, when Jean thought of her as nothing more than a background singer. Having her abusive addiction riddled husband managing the group. Who had no knowledge of the music industry. To recording a dance-disco heavy debut album. When that style of music had already lost its luster and appeal at that time. Mary could’ve turned the The Supremes into a touring force like The Rolling Stones etc. Instead we got bad decision after bad decision.
@@yeahok7772 ugh please people are free to their own opinion nobody's blaming her but she stepped on people to get to success and she had slept with people also you only say that because the truth gets told
First of all Jean Terrell never left Mary at the drop of a dime. For years, she told Mary she needed to leave Motown, as they weren’t supporting any of their albums nor the group. Jean also kept advising Mary to go on her own talent or to form a group outside of Supremes. In usual Mary form, she could never give anything up. Mary stayed with the Supremes even when she knew they were no longer getting anymore hits. Mary mismanaged them with her abusive husband. To say Jean was mistreating her is absurd. Especially, with Jean having Mary and Cindy sing on many of the leads and sharing leads with the group. Unlike Diana.
All of this is according to Mary. Jean has always forewarned Mary of her actions and told her around early/mid 70s that she was leaving, due to Berry’s treatment of her and the group. Mary just didn’t know when to call something quits.
Then, when she finally decided to go solo, she was lost, unprepared and little too old.
Mary was stupid. You're absolutely right. Syreeta would have been the perfect replacement. The narrator is just as clueless as Mary was. Mary did not have as much talent as Diana Ross when it comes to charisma or vocal talent

Diana definitely didn't have the stronger voice in the group she new that she can sing in tune but not the best voice all of the supreme should of had a chance to do lead berry Gordy didn't even start the group it was Florence Ballard she even made the dresses in the beginning
I Loved Mary,Flo and Diana has The Original Supremes! But when Mary started to sing the Supremes songs solo and Lead on songs that were tailored to fit Diane's crossover/Pop bubbly lite voice she butchered them with her Alto/smokey low pitch voice. I loved Mary dearly but she should've stuck to singing songs that fit her voice. RIP Flo, Mary 😔❤
You’re so right!
Preach!! Frankly I'm glad she's No longer around to butcher Diana Ross and the Supremes' songs
Flo had a really good voice key wise and range than Diana and Mary but just did not fit the H.D.H songs
@@erossinema8797 you are so horrible
Lmao! Every bit as much talent and charisma? Hhaaahaaa! That's song was the Ronettes.
That doesn’t diminish her part nor charisma though, now does it? Also, what do the Ronettes have to do with Mary Wilson as a performer? Nothing. So therefore, what you said is pointless. I love both Diana and Mary, so leaving comments does nothing for me. The entire point of these videos is to uplift black musicians, even those who were pushed to the background in favor of another, as Mary was. She still is part of the tapestry of black music, and is worthy of praise. Thanks for watching!
@@ournb5811 Will you still love me tomorrow, was a Ronettes song. She sings like karaoke at the bowling alley on Tuesday night. So self centered she built an entire career bad mouthing her friend. You never hear that from Ross. And if Ross was keeping her star from shining? Why didn't she jump right in and sing lead? Or convince Flo to come back and do it? The fact is neither of them could ever hold a candle to Ross. Vocally , charisma , or commitment to her craft. The only Supremes that matter are the Diana Ross led Supremes. Boo
You are so up in arms about a woman who does not know you exist, “boo”. Be blessed.
@@hollygab8188 @MusicMovies "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", sometimes known as "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It was originally recorded in 1960 by the Shirelles, who took their single to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is also notable for being the first song by a black all-girl group to reach number one in the United States.
