It is a beautiful movie. It is based on the Kargil war, though the specific storyline may be fictional.
The Kargil war actually happened and you can watch the actual footage of the war on youtube as a part of actual news coverage.
The acting is good and the Music and the Background score is Extremely good. Plus, it is based on True Events(Not a true story). The acting in this movie is simply Fabulous.

A reminder, Indian movies are not all about Bollywood or Hindi language. There are some brilliant movies from different regions of India. The first Oscar from India went to a great director,Mr. Satyajit Roy. He was not from Bollywood and his mother tongue was Bengali.
