South Mountain Park & Preserve Celebrates Centennial - Phoenix Then & Now

We're celebrating the #Powerofparks during National Park and Recreation Month! Happy 100th birthday to one of the largest municipal parks in the entire United States. South Mountain Park & Preserve began in 1924 when the city of Phoenix bought 14,000 acres of land from the US government in what was then called the Salt River mountains.
