really? jordyn and gabby are the only all arounders that the USA have...what about aly? we also have mckayla, sabrina(they both were in the top 24 at worlds but couldn't compete because of the two per country rule), sarah finnegan, kyla ross(olympic champion), elizabeth price and about 7 other girls who could make an olympic team in another country...actually another country would beg to have them on their olympic team
Yeah, well.."big mistakes" happen in competitive sports..in qualifying for them, too.. It's called CHOKING..it's not to be done.. Maybe one of the others would be wearing the gold GABBY'S wearing now if they'd made SMALL mistakes..in qualifying AND on the main stage.. But they didn't..such is life..and losing..and CHOKING..again, it happens.. Gabby overperformed enough for her scores..THAT'S how she MADE the final..and WON..that happens, too.. i saw coverage on SCORING.. not "overscoring", tho..
@Huskyowner2007 No but at the worlds was her first major competition back and she made a mistake. Since then she has been solid as if she never left. Add that and her high start value she is still one of the favorites. Wieber has problems with her connections and Aly is solid but she had form issues. Gabby has a high start value but has concentration issues. The Chinese are the favorites but the Romanians are theist solid so far beating the inconsistent Russians from Europeans.
I think Gabby is good but I don't think she can handle the pressure of the Olympics. She is still a BIG question mark (?) She'll falter on beam for sure and that will take her off the podium for the AA competition. Or rather Aly should be in the AA competition not Gabby. Shannon Miller is talking like Gabby is a sure medalists. I don't know. . . there are many other big names out there in other countries who are good in their apparatuses too. Be careful Shannon Miller!
Gabby will have tough competition to break into the top three on bars. She has a chance but it all the big names hit komova mustafina tweddle all have higher start values. She needs some of them to falter win finals or not qualify at all during prelims. Beam will e hard for wieber Raisman because of iordache and Ponor performing so well but it all comes down to who is able to hit when it counts. So we will have to see

i definitely agree with you ; plus larisa scored a huge 15.95 at the Bucharest meet and ponor scored high too but i do hate her new floor music i don't think it suites her that much but again the important thing is that they hit at the Olympics :)
Like I said, if the judges score her fairly. She performed the best in the all around because the others had big mistakes. But she was very overscored in QUALIFYING, and therefore should not even have MADE the all around final.
LOL Gabby has NO CHANCE at the All Around gold. She will be lucky if she's on the podium! That is, if the Olympic judges score her fairly instead of all the gifted connections and ignored mistakes she gets here in the US.
actually oksana is also good on beam she's the German national champion on beam :) also what happened is that she got a silver at 2008 Olympics and at 2011 worlds so what happened in not so bad !
Ponor? She didn't even medal at Worlds. She did well @ Euros because there weren't any countries like USA, and China there. 2012 Euro is different from the Olympics.

Ponor scored high in prelims and TF in Tokyo but had a mistake in EF! And age means nothing, I mean look at Oksana Chusovitina!!
Catalina Ponor and Larisa Iordache have in fact been scoring higher than anybody on beam and floor believe it or not :)
I'm not a hater but if you think Gabby actually deserves her inflated scores then you know nothing about gymnastics, Wieber is clearly better.
Still, She is still inconsistent. One day she will do well and the next day she will do horribly. I still believe she is overrated!
