One of my favorites to layer is Channel No. 5 with Black Opium. I get more compliments from that mix and in the summer, Tiffany Intense with Dolce Gabbana Light Blue, that combo drives men nuts!
MsJgreen77, do I use the Tiffany Intense lotion or the perfume with my Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue? I have one man in particular that I want to drive nuts, LOL!! Thank you 😘
I didn't realize that a degree in Chemistry was needed to smell exceptional. But trust me, I was taking notes. Always great content...much appreciated.
Ok now you know somebody (me) is going to request a whole series on layering woods, ouds, by the season etc... please do layering for dummies 😂😂 I dont want to be out here smelling crazy. Thanks lady this was great
You answered my question. After bath/shower, I use oil as a moisturize on wet skin. I did not want to use an oil that would interfere with the fragrance. So, almond oil it is. Thank you.
This video has just rekindled my romance with fragrance. While I still love it, I'm not as passionate about it as I had been. Wonderful job! Informative and entertaining while still being succinct.
i just played with all my old perfumes because i did not want to play with my new perfumes. I CAN NOT believe how amazing the smells came out complex first then simple on top im in shock! It is a complete new smell but still the base i loved when i first purchased and now new but with a twist! Im glad they will finally actually get used up! Thank you!!!
Amazing video! So informative. You are like a little chemist in a lab full of shoes and perfumes lol 🤓 I’m so happy I found your channel ❤️ sending lots of love. Kisses
Eva, I absolutely ❤️ your channel. I'm a lifelong perfumista, but your recommendations have been great as I navigate newer fragrances. 2 of my fave combos are SDV+ SJP Stash and Chanel No5+EA Nectarine Blossom 🥰
This was so informative. You answered so many questions and gave some really great tips. Looking forward to leveling up my fragrance game in 2020. Thank you!
i didn't know there were other ways to layer besides using the lotions/creams and body washes. this is all brand new info for me. new to your channel just subscribed
Same here and I mean to tell you, it's like the first day of school and I only have one pencil and the lead just broke. Thank God I can rewatch and pause the video cause there's a lot of info being shared and I'm lovin it.
Excellent Video speaking on the do's and dont's Of layering. As Eva spoke about layering scents in the same family. She mentions NOT to mix complex fragrances together because they clash with each other. I found this to be quite interesting. Here is why... I'm a DJ and these very simple rules also apply to the do's and don'ts of mixing music together. I found this to be a precise Correlation. When mixing Hip Hop Music... You would never want to mix two rap artist laying down there flow simultaneously. Just Imagine hearing Biggies Rap flow and mixing DMX into Biggies Rap. The end result would be Biggie Fighting with DMX for who's going to rap over the others rap. Who's going to be louder? No one wins in this situation. Essentially this becomes what us DJ's refer to as a Train wreck. It's the equivalent of two Trains on the same track colliding. 🤯 So I love the way Eva broke this down to a science. In addition, you simply wouldn't mix a 128 Bpm House track tempo with a 94 Bpm Hip Hop Tempo. You have two Songs in two totally different genres at two totally different tempos. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Great Video as always! Shout out to Eva the Diva!😉
I'm going to need you to give me a spread sheet so I can keep track of all this! 😂 Seriously though, I've never layered anything, but I'll give it a try! Great info Eva!!
I was thinking the same thing ….can you give us a list and which one goes on first ?? Like Juliet has a gun and lost cherry …which one goes down first ??? Help lol
So one day I was going to the Home & Garden Show. I was thinking, as us perfume fanatics do, what perfume would be appropriate for a home & garden show. I decided on my sample of Jo Malone English Oak & Hazelnut, because oak is used both inside homes and in the garden. When I put it on, I felt it was too masculine for my taste, so I sprayed on with it Jo Malone Red Roses. It made a really nice combination for the event. Another time I tested out in the store Red Roses layered with Bronze Wood & Leather. That’s fantastic too, and I want to test out that Bronze Wood & Leather more to see if I want to buy it.
This is the best layering video I've seen. My mother taught me about layering early as a teenager. Her secret was OILS. She was a builder, and whenever she was doing in-home contracting, people would always ask why their house smelled like her?! I love your videos.
This video was great! I learned so much about layering. People always say layer your scents, but I didn’t really know how to choose which ones. I am definitely going to try your lost cherry, fabulous and not a perfume combination! Thanks for taking the time to share.
This is WONDERFUL information!!! I make soaps from time to time and I have over 80 different bottles of fragrance/essential oils just keeping space in my cupboard. I'm a newbie and I can't wait to get started layered!!!
I'm so glad this video was recommended to me. If I may ask, and that's if you don't already have it but would you mind making a video on essential oils and where you buy them?
Thank you. That was amazing! I have over 200 perfumes and need to layer more to get good use out of them. That was a great tip about the body oils. I've subbed😊
First off! A good dry brushing before you shower 🧼 is great! Then’ I apply Johnson’s baby oil with 🧴 lotion! Let that dry and then I apply a body oil and mist! Sooooooo many compliments!
I actually been doing this for years now.., I actually tend to blend sweet fragrances with fragrances that are too woody or musky.., this to balance things out.. or I’ll layer a citrus with honey or podwer so it’s not too lemony sharp. I’m only 27 and started this at 18 lol
I agree with you about the Jo Malone. I’ve sampled Myrrth and Tonka and much to my surprise it lasted pretty long. I tend to layer fragrances with similar notes that are compatible. Right now I’m sampling Michelle Pfieffer collection discovery kit called Henry Rose. She has 5 fragrances out. Each with different names and personalities. Non toxic clean fragrance and strong at the same time. And we can layer fragrances without an overkill. I’m learning as I go along in my samples what layers blend well with certain fragrances.
This was one of the most helpful layering videos I have seen. I usually just layer with the body gel and cream or lotion that comes with the fragrance. I do layer Jo Malone gel and cream with other fragrances.
If I want compliments I'll layer 'Tubereuse' by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier with 'Patchouli essential oil' by Julia Lawless. Other tuberose and patchouli makes don't go together, but this combo does.
One of my favorite blends is molecule 04 (sandalwood base) with Tom Ford Amber absolute. It makes it a bit creamier by the molecule 04 bringing out the vanilla in AA just a little.
My favorite fragrances to mix Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume with are Atelier Vanille Insensée and also with Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense (in the summertime). If you have them, try them mixed with JHAG NAP. 🖤
I layer for the same reason you do, I want to smell unique and I want increase longevity. I thinks it's a good idea to keep a fragrance "recipe" book too. That way if something is fire you can go back to that combination again. I also like the mood changing benefits of certain notes as well. So if I am bummed I look through my notes to see what has some mint or pepper init to lift my mood and it works!!! I view fragrances as little potions of smell good. Great video. I love Jo Malone but they only last like 45 minutes on my skin. I'll be buying lotions and shower gels from that site you recommended once I use up what I have. 🥰
dabarefootbombshell, a recipe book is a must. I write them down now so I don't forget them. Mint is also a mood altering note for me. I did not like You Or Someone Like You until I realized that the strong mint note just makes me happy lol. 😍
I love your tips and tricks! They're so helpful! Especially for certain scents like intmicy pink and noir that smell amazing, but won't last long without bodylotion!
Thanks for the tips!!!! I love doing the lotion tip! When people ask me what are you wearing? And I tell them the perfume and then they come back and ask “how come it doesn’t smell that way on me” 😏😎
This video is so helpful! It brings a new awareness to fragrance. I have some floral perfumes I’m not too excited about, but I’m definitely going to pair it with some warmer scents and oils. Thank you! 🥰
i love, love, LOVE how you explained how to layer fragrances. so in depth, authentic and helpful! i use jojoba oil as a base before i layer my perfumes. my current favorite combination is both diptyque philosykos and their eau duelle perfume. it creates a mix of a crisp fig scent while getting a warm hug of vanilla, musk and black tea. also, i feel you on geranium. for some reason, it smells like a cross between household cleaner and mothballs to me, haha.
personally I don't think you can go wrong with vanilla if your main frag has a vanilla note sometimes I'll use a rose scent not as a layering scent but all by itself I like the rose to compliment not compete with my main fragrance. Thank You. I love your channel!! :-)
One of my favorites to layer is Channel No. 5 with Black Opium. I get more compliments from that mix and in the summer, Tiffany Intense with Dolce Gabbana Light Blue, that combo drives men nuts!
MsJgreen77, I will try this combo. I have been looking to spice up my Tiffany.😊
@@evamonroe I wasn't to thrilled with Tiffany, but it's wonderful mixed with the DG!
MsJgreen77, do I use the Tiffany Intense lotion or the perfume with my Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue? I have one man in particular that I want to drive nuts, LOL!! Thank you 😘
@@ladyrochelle9388 Yes! Use the Tiffany Intense parfum with the Dolce Gabbana Light Blue. It's amazing!
MsJgreen77, thank you!!
I didn't realize that a degree in Chemistry was needed to smell exceptional. But trust me, I was taking notes.
Always great content...much appreciated.
Lol, I know right and again I forgot my lab coat and glasses.😂
I think this is one of the best layering videos I’ve seen ❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
Ok now you know somebody (me) is going to request a whole series on layering woods, ouds, by the season etc... please do layering for dummies 😂😂 I dont want to be out here smelling crazy. Thanks lady this was great
I got you Kimmy Kim!😉
Yes PLEASE!!! Lol
Yesss!
This is one of the Best fragrance layering videos I have ever watched. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Your Welcome Kerry Lynn, I appreciate your lovely comment. I enjoy doing these types of videos.😍 Thank You for watching!
You answered my question. After bath/shower, I use oil as a moisturize on wet skin. I did not want to use an oil that would interfere with the fragrance. So, almond oil it is. Thank you.
This black woman is so inspiring. As a youth, I admire feminine black woman so much. She exudes such class and fun energy.
This video has just rekindled my romance with fragrance. While I still love it, I'm not as passionate about it as I had been. Wonderful job! Informative and entertaining while still being succinct.
Thank You for watching, Heather Nicole😊😊
i just played with all my old perfumes because i did not want to play with my new perfumes. I CAN NOT believe how amazing the smells came out complex first then simple on top im in shock! If Beyoncé and queen Latifah had a baby 😍
Omg so accurate
She’s gorgeous you are so right lol!
bshatajshina Gorgeous and well spoken. Her attitude just demands respect! Queen for real.
I think she favors Angela Winbush and the shorter sister in mary mary. Pretty
She looks like Vivica A. Fox
You're amazing Eva. So different and resourceful
Thank You Katy Camino😍
Amazing video! So informative. You are like a little chemist in a lab full of shoes and perfumes lol 🤓 I’m so happy I found your channel ❤️ sending lots of love. Kisses

Hey nadz G, Thank You for watching😍
This was so informative. You answered so many questions and gave some really great tips. Looking forward to leveling up my fragrance game in 2020. Thank you!

I just purchased a sweet musk and vanilla oil to layer with all of my perfumes to help with the longevity.
This video had some unbelievable information! I’m rewatching sections and feel like I need to take notes! Fascinating. Thank you so much! 💋🙌👏
Thank You for watching Valerie Switzer😍

Fragrantbodyoilz is official. Just got my order. They smell just like the real thing.
Yesss, Trus G, I'm glad you enjoy their oils as much as I do. 😍😍

So informative and well put together. I actually learned something from it. ✨
You have gorgeous skin!
Thank You very much, Jane Levey!!! :-)
monroe can you tell me your foundation and SHADE your glowing
I use coconut oil, i love coconut smells. I use coconut shampoo and conditioner for my hair, coconut oil & coconut butter/lotion for my body ❤️
This video was great! I learned so much about layering. People always say layer your scents, but I didn’t really know how to choose which ones. I am definitely going to try your lost cherry, fabulous and not a perfume combination! Thanks for taking the time to share.

We need another video talking about essential oils and how to use them 👌😊
Dang it. If you're not already a perfumer...seems like you should be. I learned alot here today. Thx.
Brother Adrian, Thank You for watching.😍
I used to layer by using a cheap body spray but i wasn’t aware of the science to make layering work. Thank you Eva!
This is so useful and you’re so friendly and accessible, thank you from the UK 🙂.
I'm so glad this video was recommended to me. If I may ask, and that's if you don't already have it but would you mind making a video on essential oils and where you buy them?
Wow! We just saw this! We have just contacted you! 🕺🏿
Do you have any discount links to FragrantBody shop?
Am needing something Vanilla, that's my best smell ever. Body Bath smells dnt last long
Thank you. That was amazing! I have over 200 perfumes and need to layer more to get good use out of them. That was a great tip about the body oils. I've subbed😊
Ailisha Beth D, Thank You for subbing. Layering definitely spices things up a bit. It always makes me feel like I got some new fragrances lol. :)
You remind me of Mary Mary but when you speak you sound like Beyoncé lol
I have always wanted to mix scents! This content is so unique.
The Eva Monroe is such a treasure trove of fragrance information. Great information!
I never heard of vanilla oil before this video, Eva be serving the best content!🙌🏿
You just done changed the game!!!!💜💜💜💜
New subie over here👋
I do my layering with essential oils & have been successful thus far for the past couple years.
CELESTE, in the ATL 🌿
First off! A good dry brushing before you shower 🧼 is great! Then’ I apply Johnson’s baby oil with 🧴 lotion! Let that dry and then I apply a body oil and mist! Sooooooo many compliments!
Lizzalizzette Alexander do you apply a perfume body oil or is it just a regular oil before your mist?
I actually been doing this for years now.., I actually tend to blend sweet fragrances with fragrances that are too woody or musky.., this to balance things out.. or I’ll layer a citrus with honey or podwer so it’s not too lemony sharp. I’m only 27 and started this at 18 lol
Wow JM thats impressive, when I was 27 the only thing I knew to do was spray it on and go, lol.
Amazing techniques . Thank you for your generous help ❤
Definitely
You are beautiful and have the most flawless skin.
Hold up Sis, can I just get a quick scan (lookie, lookie) and monologue on your fabulous closet!!!👏🏽👏🏽💯
Such a beautiful name for an amazing lady. Thanks so much for sharing some great tips
I learned sooooo much. Thank you for sharing and teaching. You are a wealth of knowledge.
I watched a Roja Dove video and he agrees with about putting the fragrance first then the lotion. Thanks for doing this Eva.

I’m saving this video. Very informative and a lot of knowledge shared that I have to watch again to take it all in and learn from. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you, that was a very impactful dose of goodness!!! I really enjoy your style and depth of fragrances. Keep up the excellent content...
How fun, I'm going to need to start playing around with my fragrances, instead of buying more new ones. New sub here!!!
This is an awesome video, Eva! Very informative presentation.
R Harden, Thank You for watching😊

She is indeed stunning.💁🏾♀️💕
What an informative video... now I can blend away! Thank you
Try Coco Chanel Mademoiselle and put Escentric Molecule 1 on top 🤗 OMG
Thanks sooo much for sharing!❤️❤️😎
I recently learned that this was a thing along with wearing perfume at home and at night to go to sleep.
This is a great video. Getting to know different essential oils helped me find out I'm allergic to fragrances with citrus in them.
Nice advice. Thanks Queen. 👑
Loved the Essential oil tips especially good body oils are everything
Thank you Eva for sharing this valuable information.
A Londoner here..Jo Malons is the bomb!! Expensive but well worth it!

Hey duck2587 O4 is one that I still need to try. This blend sounds amazing!!!
I just subscribed, I’m quite new to the fragrance world but I love the in-depth information. Nice video 👍❤️
THE best layering video! Thank you💜💜💜💜💜

Alchemy 101! Awesome!
Such great advice, I'm so happy I found this 😍
This video is so helpful! It brings a new awareness to fragrance. I have some floral perfumes I’m not too excited about, but I’m definitely going to pair it with some warmer scents and oils. Thank you! 🥰
Kayla Johnson, Thank You for watching. Don't forget to come back and share blends that you come up with.😍
Interesting concept🤔 and you are so knowledgeable. Great video 👍🏾
i love, love, LOVE how you explained how to layer fragrances. so in depth, authentic and helpful! i use jojoba oil as a base before i layer my perfumes. my current favorite combination is both diptyque philosykos and their eau duelle perfume. it creates a mix of a crisp fig scent while getting a warm hug of vanilla, musk and black tea.

clarradactyl, Jojoba is a great base to use for layering. I need to get more into Dyptique. Do Son is one of the few I have tried.
Learning so much from this video! Thanks so much!!!
Love Lost Cherry and I never hear anyone talk about it! Beautiful!
i love this 😭😭 thank you for sharing ❤️

Agree with you 10000% about Body Shop Satsuma!!!

Hi Ms. Eva. Thank you. I’ve learnt so much from this video. It would be awesome to get all these valuables in a book of sorts.
Who cares about perfumes when that lipstick/lipgloss is on miss Eva! Yesssssss! 💄👄💋
Hey Pamela Wolf, Thats my favorite lipgloss Morphe Freebird!!
Its about the top.middle And base notes .aromatherapy 🌸
OH i love this! I thought i was the only one that layerd/blended my fragrances LOL. Well i mostly do this with perfumes :)

Thanks so much for going into detail.

I love layering Maison Margiela’s Jazz Club with Jo M’s Blackberry & Bay🥰
glowingmyway, this sounds like a nice blend. I dropped and broke my Jazz Club but i had some really nice Jazz Club blends😍😍
