Dodge screwed up, too. They discontinued the Challenger and made the Charger electric. No more Hemi's. They turned there back on the muscle car fans, like myself.
Tino, I understand what you said. having owned several good Japanese bikes in the 70's then 2000's. In 09 I was able to buy a new bike and that Triumph was the best in class, Street Triple. turns out among the last Hinkley built. Older & tired body and now ride an 04 striped Tiger. A modern Thai built bike does not appeal to me.
I understand what you are saying. The decay of proud American companies such as harley is disheartening. Woke on wheels does make me laugh and cry at the same time. The twisted almost non humans that run harley might and not surprising to me, and hire Dylan Mulvaney to do advertising. Im Canadian, and I think and understand this a lot as you do. Too bad you are so far away. I would think it would be cool to go for a ride with you and have a few real American beers.
It's just too many people wanting the look of a biker for a day when they use it. But on the other hand they don't live the life style and order stuff from screens. They put demands to the table that differ from the original "core" market. What they do though is bring money along and demand services, beyond the need for using their own hands, and therefor having new cycles serviced needs to be done in a brand garage. That changes the demand, which changes the offers. When you look at the normal bicycle industry this seems a left over from the COVID "crisis". Everyone looking for a hobby while buying big from their savings feeling pity for themselves and wanting to go out there. This changed the markets temporarily, yet whole workshops and production facilities, thought it was going to continue as was, but did not. So you will see rise in second hand market, of products that aren't going to sell well, dropping in price quickly and facilities still wondering what to do next, what to do with all new investments made. Last not least the younger generations growing up with everything needing to be charged in sockets, used to electronics anyway, step in to the existing markets with a varied demand, beyond the mechanical bikers needs. The only thing you can do best is to simply keep demanding the thing you want and be loud about it. Factories needing to reset...costs time, money and investments. So I guess it is either time to roll back time in a way, and await for the right producers to step back into what did well. Investors will say, will do well, for how long and still see future into more youthful demand. This is...the sands of time Tino.
Well I saw those movies....and I also saw the last movie in that line; "Wild Hogs" which was funny but showed what a joke the old biker culture had degenerated into. The old days are gone. The old riders are on their way out. HD stopped publishing the average age of their buyers back in 2013 because it was too obvious how the trend lines were going. HD sold their souls to a protected market during the Reagan years and doubled down on traditional bikers vs selling riding to everyone. It's too late to change. So rage at the dying of the light brother.....but this is the bed HD made. You can't blame the board for trying to turn this around...Hey, free market amirite? But maybe they should have sold the company to a bunch of Wild Hogs and the company itself could rage at the grim reaper along with its customers??? It's sad, but I just watched a vid by a guy who machine-gunned an Iron Head. Keep it together brother....reality is what it is. Worrying about "woke" or "DEI" is just playing into the insane propaganda of the right. Sanity is a choice. BTW, nice sled! Don't shoot it!
I heard the news a few days back. Couldn't believe it. No, I don't ride, but I have many biker friends (specifically Harley riders) and I can easily talk jargon, maintenance and history with them. Harle lost their way once before when they shunned the custom and chopper scene. Thought they'd learned when the chop scene had a renaissance in the 2000s. Now they've gone all woke and Globalist. Giving the big finger to their core market. Fools. Stick to riding or building the classic "real" Harleys is my advice.
Riding motorcycles does not involve phones. It's about getting AWAY from garbage like that. Remember that scene in Easy Rider where Peter Fonda takes off his watch and throws it on the ground? That's what riding motorcycles is all about. I do carry a phone, an old school flip phone. But it is turned off, and buried down at the bottom of my saddlebag. I only have if in case of an emergency. I have a bought used 1989 FXRS Low Rider and a 2002 Sportster 1200C. Both have EVO engines. The M8 and whatever that piece of shit is in the Pan Am and the new fake Sportster (which are NOT Harleys) is absolute GARBAGE.
Tino, do you have a public email? I want to share a thought that is too long to type here plus I need to share the info of the Harley in boxes in my garage....
Thank you, your are 100 percent correct. I'm with you all the way. Willy G.must be devastated because his name means shit from this point on!!! FHD !!!
The only hog those Harley board members have ever ridden was circumcised
Spot on, Tito!
I lost my leg on a 73 Super Glide in 1980, it would have hurt worse if I was riding a Vespa. Smarten up, H-D.
Those Harley Davidson board members HATE EVERYTHING about Harley owners, they HATE YOU
Good morning sir!
"You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This couldnt be less true.
I had to take Anger Management so...............
Priceless 👌
🇨🇦✌️😎
Long story short (aka TL;DR:)
Not only the baby they tossed the nanny, granpa and both parents with the bath water, and set the house on fire too.
Dodge screwed up, too. They discontinued the Challenger and made the Charger electric. No more Hemi's. They turned there back on the muscle car fans, like myself.
Spot on 100%. The CEO & board need to resign.
Hay up TINO, hope your good dude 👍😎 Nice Hog bro 😎
Well said, 😎👍
We've been hearing this for the last decade or so.
Harley since the early 90's have been sticking it to their base. They are just more open about their disdain for the working man.
Thank you Sir.. I’m still riding an 02 Carbureted Heritage that I can work on. !!

Harleys stopped being cool in the early 2000's when they became standard issue midlife crisis machines for yuppies.
The new Harleys are plastic and electronics!!
