- A woman who stabbed her husband to death after a row that erupted during a birthday meal has been found guilty of murder.
Penelope Jackson, 66, stabbed David Jackson three times at their home in Parsonage Road in Berrow, Somerset on 13 February after they argued during a meal to celebrate her birthday.
She had already admitted manslaughter, but denied murder.

Even if you'd lost control, you'd be very shocked and feel dreadful, if you'd physically stabbed someone to death.

The brother of her 3rd spouse, Alan Warrender, said that Penelope was controlling in their relationship and seemed 'strangely upbeat' at his funeral after he had committed suicide.
At least try to see all angles before jumping to conclusions.

She will be released, it is rare for women even on life sentences to serve the full tariff. The establishment do not want prisons housing middle aged females that is for sure. More than likely she will appeal and the conviction overturned.

TV presenter Caroline Flack tried to cause serious harm or maybe even attempted murder (!) when she hit her boyfriend with a phone whilst he was asleep. He suffered a severe head injury. The recorded 999 call transcript had reference to him saying she tried to kill me. Flack believed he was cheating on him after seeing texts from a 60 year old woman. Apparently the texts were not sexual in content but related to his work as a tennis coach.
The case was going to trial but Flack took her life because she feared a custodial sentence was inevitable.
Her life took a catastrophic detour due to a moment of anger.
He probably made her like this. He probably bullied her and gave her a life of He'll Something obviously snapped in her brain and she had enough and stabbed him, It could of been provoked.

It does sound like the reporter is trying to help the murderer play the usual female victim card. I am glad she is being made an example of and not given a get out of jail free card. I am not alone in being annoyed by the fact that men are always portrayed as the bad guy by the media. I've met many violent and toxic women as well as men.

Well, the judge does not seem to have been taken in. I've just read she has a life sentence, with at least 18 years, which is probably what a man would have got.
When I first heard the recordings, my immediate response was to think how similar her lack of concern seemed to be to that of Rose West. She was so matter of fact about the killing I remember shivering, and despite the seriousness, I wanted to laugh at what she said. It was so outlandish.
As she said herself, she was quite compos mentis. This was not a spur of the moment decision judging by her attitude. It is scary to think that there is such wickedness out there.
She reminds me of Myra Hindley. She has a very similar look in some of the photos I've seen.

In the UK, people hardly ever get sent down for murder, usually they get convicted of a lesser charge, and that means the sentence can be pathetically short.
In this case, the woman was convicted of murder. It's because she clearly expressed intent to kill on the 999 call and the police bodycam video. If she'd killed the guy without him being able to get a 999 call out, and there hadn't been any audio or video of the killing taking place, she'd almost certainly only have been convicted of manslaughter, and only received a short sentence.
