@@TopComicsPressing yeah I need to get back into your videos again. I’ve been deep into digital assets but now I’ll just be holding and can diversify back into comics
That's an interesting way to hide a married cover... tear away pieces of the cover to mask any misalignment of staples. I hope that's not one you plan to sell.
PC all the way. Also don’t think it was ever really married. I think a CGC grader screwed up. You can see the asm129 I untrimmed too. They do make mistakes.
Tape is damage per CGC grade book. I have seen them flag books though… wish they stuck to their own book. I personally would use very small carefully placed pieces
@@TopComicsPressingso do you have to use special tape to make it not restoration? I have old golden age book w detached cover I wanted to just put tape on. But I don’t want purple label.
based on the CGC book all tape is damage. I have had several w linco archival tape get blue. One of my golden age Superman were that way. Tape was noted and universal grade. But if it’s just a detached cover I would leave it detached.
How did you suspect that the green label was wrong then? Just because they’re not common so you took the gamble and bought it? Congrats to go universal!
Excellent video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
This was awesome how you went from the beginning all the way to the CGC return thanks for the info and the knowledge. Very interesting stuff man

I agree!! I would grade it the same as CGC!!
Would using archival tape to prevent a complete spine split be considered restoration? Excellent work on detective comics, 👍

You have to know what it looks like to be really married and this did not have any obvious tells.
It’s a lot more subjective than people think
@@TopComicsPressing gotcha. Yeah great read on the book. Really nice to see the blue label especially on such a scarce and historic book
BLUE LABEL BABY!!
