  • In this video lesson, I talk about the W.I.N. Method for Tennis.

    Great video. Sadly very few coaches train themselves and or even understand the psychological part of this beautiful sport at the practical level.

    I like the concept of W I N, but I don't like her thinking. Her response to "What's Important Now?" when she was up 5-3 should have been, "Return the serve" or "Keep my feet moving" or "make my opponent play a few balls". If you think something like "Close it out, " you are thinking too far in the future. You can only concentrate on one stroke at a time. THe response "Get the first serve in" was more in line with proper tennis thinking....simple things...one moment at a time..."Clear the net" is a good one.

    Love this video. Helps me overcome when I'm battling "pressure points" (e.g., when the score is 5-5 and I'm at serve and have to hold serve if I want this match to go my way).

      i know a squash dude who has put a sort of sticky tape on the throat of the racket ;) (and written on it) - just in-case I can save you a few quid and a lot of pain :p
