Special shoutout to my production assistant Minerva who insisted on fixing the framing and adding ambient sounds when it got a bit too quiet. What would I do without her...
The cat cameos worked so well for a Death book review. Mort is the book I often recommend as a starting point for Discworld and is one of my favourite books as you know. The genius of Pratchett is the juxtaposition of humour and the darker elements of humanity, such as the one with the sack of kittens - he makes you laugh and makes you ponder life and death all on a single page. Great review - let’s read some Pratchett! ❤
Somehow Minerva singing the song of her people throughout this video feels appropriate for a Discworld book - you have to roll with the chaos. :)
Silly naive me thought you wouldn't be able to hear her through a closed door and a lapel microphone.... I should have known better 😅
Mort is such an amazing book and I adore Death as a character
He's such an excellent character
My first Terry Pratchett novel. Still very much one of my favourites.
I love Terry Pratchett's discworld series! Thank you for reviewing Mort, one of my favorites. :)
This was my first Pratchett a couple of months ago. I'm sure I'll pick up more Discworld books, but I also got Good Omens so I don't know what I'll read first.
Pratchett is aces. Finding other authors whose comedic prowess ranks with that of Pratchett and Douglas Adams can be difficult. Also, I'd recognize that pink Wilde omnibus on your lower right bookshelf anywhere. It's the most well-worn, well-loved book on my shelf.
Well spotted! I've had it for 15 years or so, the cover is all sun bleached.
@@SpinstersLibrary Mine as well!
Love Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. Death is perhaps my favourite Discworld character. It also took me entirely too long to work out how Lord Vetinari was a parody of the Medici rulers from Italy.
Thanks for this video. I love Discworld.
👏👏👏👏👏
Hello,
I just saw your videos, and I like them. I like your natural silver hair, too.
Thank you! I've been going grey for nearly two decades now
GNU Terry Pratchett.
