I completely agree with your statement about the need for learning cursive skills…I worked for a while as a test proctor and was astonished at how many high schoolers couldn’t sign their name or read instructions written in cursive. As a homeschooler, I told my student cursive was almost like a secret language now. lol! Thank you for sharing your grade 7 reflections! It sounds like you had a truly successful year!

Thanks for sharing, but did you use all the grammar components everyday?

Great question! We used Easy Grammar every day. When we were doing Editor in Chief, we used it 1-2 times/week. Cursive was 3-4 pages every 2 weeks (approximately). Vocabulary averaged 3 days per week between the 2 programs. I have never really thought about it in these terms, but, in general I would say that we used 2 programs each day. Easy Grammar was every day and then we normally would add one other portion (vocabulary, spelling, etc). With cursive, I just assigned the pages and when they were due.

Do you like evan moore or 180 days of spelling more?

For spelling, I actually like Evan Moore better. I have never used 180 Days of spelling. I have used 180 Days for Geography and Social Studies and really like it for those subjects. I would use 180 Days for spelling, I just chose Evan Moore because it was less expensive at the time I purchased it.
