Hmm...in washes that were formed with WATER! Lots of water. Not being familiar with local conditions is deadly. You may live in a desert or hot region, but that does not mean weather patterns or topography are the same. There are PLENTY of examples of people getting caught in flash floods. Check the weather for MILES around the area you will be in. Their off-road clubs need to include hazards encountered in various regions, flooding being a major one.
