Didn'rt Christ tell us to go into the world and preach the gospel...he didn't tell us to build Cathedrals everywhere just to do that. Yes, getting together as Christians is great to be with likeminded people...any hall will do that. Anywhere. If you need to consecrate that building for the sake of that gathering...but in the end, it's up to the Christian faithful to tell people about Jesus. You don't need a great big monstrous build to do that. Like I said, a place for worship and fellowship is good. Evangelical, is very good.

@@brianmorris8045 I disagree Brian. Some of my most spiritual moments were in a Church which held the atmosphere of my beliefs. Those churches are my history as well as my faith. And, in fact, the buildings ARE very historical to the British. They are like a garden of simplistic, encompassing communion with the World & "God". A Safe Haven. Those walls and atmosphere should not be besmirched by an adverse energy of differing religions. Anymore than I would besmirch or enforce MY energy or faith on a Mosque or other religious site

Can you explain to me what happened to Welby? I thought he was an Conservative Evangelical! I remember when he was appointed we had such hope for the Church and many of us thought he would be even be catalyst for revival. I have always been of the view that the church should be inclusive and welcome gay people. But there's a difference between welcoming people and affirming sin. Love the sinner but not the sin. We have chaplains working in prisons with people who have in many cases committed terrible crimes but we don't discard them we try and bring into relationship with Christ. But we don't tell murderers that God accepts them as they are.

In the past centuries brave, committed men and women went out from these churches and evangelised the world. Now it seems it is time for the descendants of those converts to come here as missionaries to evangelise our nations!

My husband and I are not Anglican, we are Christians and have been going to one for about 10 years due to one particular sound teaching we encountered from one particular Vicar. Sadly, he was replaced after we had been there a few years. We have also seen the decline as congregation gets older and fewer and have not seen any permanent new comers. We have been very patient; waiting and see where we are heading to from here on. Especially with all the unsettling issues that have been circulating around the Anglican churches in NZ and around the world. It is a very trying time for all Christians around the world who truly believe and embrace the true gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray everyday for Christians leaders not to compromise from the truth but to hold on fast to what the Bible teaches for the consequences are at hand. @@donhardman6919 Apart from outside of the church pressures declining the membership, what from inside some Christian churches, is the cause of the decline. Has anybody asked that question. One kid told me some of the hymns are total durges, and when you get young people coming to baptise their child/children, he has heard from the grandparents, "Nothing has changed has it, same old tedious grind". Just a bright and cheery hymn, and there are plenty of them in the old hymn books, just that some trad Anglican churches choose not to use them. Baptism in the Anglican churches is supposed to be a wonderful occasion...but try to update the music side of it with some trad churches, is a common problem.
Even old tunes like 'Blessed Assurance', and 'To god be the glory' would be brighter..but there is a problem with that...some of the trad C of E churches had a problem with tunes that reminded them of Billy Graham Crusades. What they had against him, I'll never know but a lot of churches should thank him for getting people into their own denominations again. The church doesn't have to get drastic, to slow the decline, they have to be relevant in these times, without detracting from the scriptures they are there to reinforce, and without the danger of going 'woke', (which seems to be the reason some clergy are leaving the C of E and moving over to GAFCON.).

WOW, our thoughts are compared to the serpent's deceptive cunning. Yikes, our thoughts can take us in many directions...therefore we need to have a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. This is something worthy of meditation. Stay strong in the faith as the world is getting more difficult to navigate and persecution increases, we need to stay focused on the Lord Jesus,

Thank you for your updates. I was in a wonderful "orthodox" Episcopal church in the US when an actively gay man was ordained as bishop in a neighboring state, the opening shot across the bow that has eventually resulted in the recent same sex blessing vote. I was there during the time that led to the formation of the Anglican Communion of North America and our Rector participated in GAFCON. That Rector was called elsewhere, new leadership wanted to continue with life as usual, and some of us needed to go elsewhere as a result. Although I have been called to Messianic community (Jews and Gentiles following/worshiping/serving the Messiah together) and was actually blessed and sent out by an ACNA bishop, I love my fellow Anglican believers and am very interested in following what's happening. Thank God for men like Foley Beach and for you as well.

Hi Brett, thank you for the report. I’m an Anglican. It is obvious that there has been a long March through the Anglican Church in the UK. What to do? The CoE has to be reconquered. You ask what will happen? I don’t know. But I know what must happen. We must reconquer what has been stolen from us. That means being uncompromising when we hear guff in Church. We must not allow the Church platform to be used as a means to project an anti Christian message.

One answer is to get up and leave a service, every time wrong doctrine is preached, then go to the Minister and pint out the error in love.. Come back the next week and remain if the teaching is sound, but every time non-Biblcal teaching emanates from the pulpit then leave.
If the heresy continues one must go to the Elders who must approach the Preacher, if none of that works and there is no repentance of error, we must leave. I know it sounds harsh, but Scripture is clear.

The C of E is going downhill unless and until some courageous pastors dare to speak up before it is too late . I thank God that there are faithful Christian pastors who bring light to the wrong and to condemn it before it is practiced by C of E .Thank God for GAFCON where the majority is united to love God , to follow His Ways and faithfully obeying the Word of God . May this next reformation filter down into true revival within our congregations.
For global times as these the world needs to hear and see the Biblical eternal hope we have in Christ Jesus. One that calls us to holiness purity and love only through imputed righteousness of Christ by the transforming work of God's Holy Spirit.
We are called to be light and salt and we were told that the world will hate us just as it did Jesus.
We must humbly stand stand firm in the Word and in Christ, brother's and sisters.
There is no other answer except Jesus.

The Anglican Church in NZ does not reflect my Faith, having grown up in England loving the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, let alone the massive departure that Anglicanism here has undergone. The nearest (Anglican) church has no services, closed apart from special services. Other churches are a long drive away. It doesn’t make it easy to return to Faith, but I suppose that’s part of His plan.

Ive been a Christian for 50+ years - and moved through a range of denominational aspects of God's church...I'd advise any Christian to pause from time to time to take stock...to look at the bigger picture. Over time out theology can get out of balance...messy. (A bit like an evolving garden...from time to time...pruning, moving...and new planting is required)
As we journey through life we pick up wisdom, and many good things....but putting these elements together in a balanced God pleasing order...is important, Adjustment is never easy....but pruning and placing our theology into Gods order is liberating....is magnificent!

I am an Episcopalian in Los Angeles, born, bred, and even attended Episcopal schools with British Headmasters in my youth. The LORD in His great mercy sought me out, and I was born again in the great “Jesus movement” in the 1970s. Years of Evangelical training in one of our mega churches, The Church on the Way, with Pastor Jack Hayford, followed. But, the LORD called me back to the Episcopal Church while my husband, and I still attended the Saturday night, and Wednesday evening services at TCOTW. All this to say, now I am a widow some four years. I have felt guided to All Saints Beverly Hills now. This was a “family church” in my youth. It is a medium high church faithful to the Liturgy of Rite One. However, it singles out the LGBTQ+ community for programs, and meetings exclusively for them. “Flee! “ you may say, and I will if I am guided away. Many years ago, when I was a bit apprehensive about the call back to the Episcopal Church, The LORD gave me two confirmations . First, He said, “I love this church.”, Second, He gave me a vision of two hands carefully, skillfully etching a piece of fine crystal. When I inquired of Him what this meant, this was my answer. “A word fitly spoken is like a golden apple in a silver frame. The Anglican Church has a mantle of a word fitly spoken. The hands etching the fine crystal represents Liturgy filled with My Spirit etching Me on hearts. This etching skill is passed on from generation to generation through this Liturgy. God has bound my heart to this denomination. My family, over the years, have served decades as Vice- Chancellor, Bishop’s Canon, Diocesan board members, Vestry, and so on. As Thomas Jefferson once wrote to a friend, “As I grow older I find, that the things I love most, are the things I loved first.” Will you pray for the LORD to grant branches who bare true fruit in this, most surely heretical, diocese, and that he call many into her churches, who are faithful to the Bible; purifying, and casting down deceptions one prong at a time! Certainly, we know His arm is not short, nor His ear dull to what is already, in fact, His Will. Thank you, Hansel Pollack, JD
