Your commentary is hilarious! I put the Goodwin Racing catted header on my NC because I was worried about state inspection. I connected it to the Helmholtz midpipe and Roadstersport Super Q muffler. I laughed when you mimicked the exhaust sound when driving. Not a fast car,but sure is fun.
Did you do the catted header first? It the whole system? I have that entire setup on my soft top minus the cat. I'm looking at a new setup for my PRHT. Considering just doing a catted header with stock mid pipe and muffler.
Damn I wish you'd recorded the process, I've seen a couple header swap video but no one else went through the battery canal to do it! Of course, they didn't throw their belts off either...
I noticed the Mustang style wheels on the floor. Are those for the Miata? What do you think of weight? Considering doing the same and these wheels are getting traded in the forums for the weight and how they’ll impact stopping and acceleration.
Nice video! Thanks. Did you do a tune? Considering this for my NC. Already have a tune which made a surprising difference given I have no exhaust mods.
You said you have a stock CAT on the car. Is that further down? No CAT on the header means it's illegal in most states and can only be used for racing.
Haven’t watched your channel in a long time but I’m surprised to find you’re driving a Miata, especially since many of your early videos were about S2000s. Why the switch?
Your clutch seems so effortless, it’s crazy. Maybe you can help me with my issue. So I have a new clutch installed, new flywheel, new everything but for some reason my clutch vibrates when I press on it or if I rev match above 3000 rpm. I can just feel this vibration/pulsation in the pedal. Any input? I was thinking maybe bad engine mounts?
Most car stereo shops should be able to do an install like that. There are a lot of double-DIN touchscreen car stereos to choose from. A decent shop should allow you to test several in the showroom and then they can install it in an afternoon.
@@ZentRose hello and greatings from Slovakia :) I am looking for Skunk2 manigold 4-1 and chiptunning. Do you feel really big difference after installing the manifold? Did you tuned ecu ? What is the results? Thank you very much for any response.
@@tomasabraham5651 Yes it is tuned now. The header and tune is worthwhile and noticeable. I picked up about 20hp. I plan to swap this engine out with a built 2.5 soon.
@@ZentRose Only 20hp? I would expect more... Maybe 25-30... I know its not turbo charged car, they are much better for tuning. Anyway, do you feel the car is much faster? I had only turbo cars, so after ecu tuning it was big difference 60hp and 100nm. Therefore I am asking if its worthy to change manifold and chip miata.
@@tomasabraham5651 You have to be more realistic about the NA power gains on a 2.0 liter engine that makes about 160 to the rear wheels when stock. Header and tune will run about $2,000 and net you 10-12 rwhp max.
The Miata is nice, but I'm in awe of this incredible palace of a garage and driveway. Living the dream.

How do you like it? Is the catted header enough to prevent any bad smells on startup? Or harsh rasp?

Finally this is the video I've been looking to find Thanks for posting 👍🏼
+1 for racing beat miata parts. they make great exhausts as well
Damn I wish you'd recorded the process, I've seen a couple header swap video but no one else went through the battery canal to do it! Of course, they didn't throw their belts off either...
Can you do a video from the back of the car and some revs/start up? Hard to find a video of JUST a header change and everything else stock. Thanks
Sure thing!

did you end up getting a tune for your miata? if so, which tune? thanks
Did you notice any rattling or smell? I hear the header deleted the first catalytic converter but the exhaust has a second one?
Theres 2 cats. One in the middle of the exhaust
When you delete your cats, you’re definitely going to smell gasoline
Nice video! Thanks. Did you do a tune? Considering this for my NC. Already have a tune which made a surprising difference given I have no exhaust mods.
This video was without a tune. I got a dyno tune later and now I have swapped in the 2.5 engine with cams.
I wonder if the watch survived being slammed in the hood 🤔🤔
Hi, love the sound. Do you have any videos of this header with the roadster sport hemlholtz muffer?
I have one with the race single Helmholtz muffler
Is it that much louder? I want more power without the rice.
No it's not loud. Keep the stock mid pipe and it is nice and quiet.
Which tune did you get?
Why did you sell the electric car? besides the Miata being more fun to drive was there another reason?
I got a new job with a longer commute. Otherwise I would have never sold it. The fiat is a great city car.
Hello Zent have you tuned using Ecutec just header and tune? If so what are the gains especially torque!!
Yes but I did not get it on the dyno with that combo. Header and tune provides a noticeable bump in power
What kind of sterio is that i need one for my nc
You said you have a stock CAT on the car. Is that further down? No CAT on the header means it's illegal in most states and can only be used for racing.
The NC miata has 2 cats, one in the header, and then one directly downstream in the midpipe. So the one in the header is redundant.
great video
Will thus header fit the 2.5L in the mazda6? If so would it be less restricted, more restricted, or mostly the same?
Haven’t watched your channel in a long time but I’m surprised to find you’re driving a Miata, especially since many of your early videos were about S2000s. Why the switch?
They are cheap. A cammed 2.5 NC is a little faster than an S2000. Pretty similar, fun to drive cars.
@@ZentRose can you confirm this?what cams? Stock rotating assembly?
What offsett are thoseeee
Hello Zent I'm going to buy a GWR header for my 08 NC how long should it take a tech to install? I'll give your tips about moving few things
This was a pain in the ass for some reason. This took me longer than the clutch job took. I'd say 4 hours is reasonable.
@@ZentRose oh wow I thought moving the battery the heat shield and letting alternator hang would have made easier oh well thanks for info!!
May I know which tuner did you go to?
Would you recommend a 2.0 stg2 springs retainers upgrade?
Where can I find a Bluetooth radio like that?

Is it vibrating through the pedal? I’d guess throw out bearing
Where did u get the screen u have in the dash?

How big was the header diameter? 1.8"?
So how much more horsepower/torque do you get? Might just have to do it on my NC
Does the header make an appreciable difference in power and torque, or is just a tune (even without the exhaust) enough to get the most out of it?
Yes header and tune are the best bang for the buck. The nc is a different car with these two mods!

How does the miata compare to your old s2000 ?
The NC Miata is a better daily driver. I haven’t had it on track but overall I prefer the Miata.
This I'd like to know too maybe after track driving. Also hope you 2.5 swap with cams in future really makes things fun
That S2000 cr you had would be worth some money now. I miss my S2000
@@rivalrepairs the s2000 is a better track car and is way more stable over 100 mph.
I currently own one of each lol
how did you tackle the o2 sensors? did you move one to the mid pipe?
The RB header has a spot for it. I just used spark plug non foulers to eliminate the CEL
Love the videos, in the process of getting an nc as well. Is this header catted or non?
This one was not
That’s always hilarious
Awesome work maybe clean hands of oil before stepping into car to drive next time 😂
Legal only for use in California for racing not for use on highway unfortunately its out for me.
5 or 6 speed?
Its 6sp can tell by reverse location
