- Just a few short hours drive north of Toronto is a slice of heaven on earth known as the French River. For centuries, this waterway has been an important piece of the history of North America for trade and transportation, logging and fishing, and now fun and tourism. We stopped in at the French River Visitor's Centre to learn about the history of the river, before heading out to Crane's Lochaven Wilderness Lodge for an incredible time fishing, boating and exploring this amazing piece of water.

I loved that you mentioned the river used to flow in the opposite direction!
This is fantastic. My dad, uncle, grandad and brother and myself did annual trips to the French River to Lochaven, growing up. This video was such a nice reminder of what is was like growing up.

Cool to see the rainey rapids from the drone & seadooing on the river. I live local on the water to the supply post you launched the waverunners at am a avid PWC rider, i also work on those new bridges being built. And i snowmobile up to that large grassy side at the top of the Rainey. Cool video!
