I've played ukulele for 2/3 of my life and this is absolutely true. This is how i learned the solos to freebird, hotel California, through the fire and flames, etc. I also apply this to the other 10 instruments I play. Definitely one of, if not the best ways to practice.
You can also use a metronome for this technique, i usually start super slow and then up the BPM by +5 everytime, if i make any small mistake then -5. This works very good for hard bass riffs for me
Great tip! I second that. Some people find a metronome super helpful indeed. Did you know that you if you type in “metronome” in google you get a free one? Haha I always recommend it to my students
This made me think of when i was a trainer at an old sewing job and id have people ask how they can sew faster and get better at their speed. I looked straight at them and said, push the pedal down more 😂 all that to say, when you start slow and know how your hands work and you have the basics, then all you can do is push the pedal more and learn how to quickly adapt to whats happening. Same goes for any kind of skill ❤
Did you sub? :)
Is it tenor??
@@Gunnu018 Yes, it's a tenor ukulele! Are you planning to buy one?

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your story in music. It seems you have great music taste too. Which solo was your favorite one to learn?
That's right. Practice for being on time first. Speed will follow naturally
I couldn’t agree more! 🆙
