There's supposed to be a small sparks of black lightning to indicate some sort of Conqueror's Haki and I'm not surprised if all of Luffy's crew actually has it in them. Maybe the joke that Nami can really hurt Luffy really is Haki but we just don't really have a direct confirmation. It's just like gags that are unconfirmed. I really thought they'd animate the lightning here too, but no... Weird... Chapter 1058 or something.

It is actually possible that Nami unconsciously uses haki whenever she is extremely angry, especially if it's about money. She is the only one who can do that kind of beating to Luffy and the other members of the crew. I know it is not conqueror's haki but it is a strong haki for even Jimbei to acknowledge its intensity.
Oda often reveal piece of lore through jokes and a recurring one recently (highlined in egghead by Sanji) is that love is the strongest power, fist of love is also an attack of Garp. So I think it's highly probable that there is a piece of lore mixed inside those joke.
