  • from needle felting to whip stitching to hand weaving, I go through my pile of items in need of mending (/altering) in this video ✨ all done by hand with the intention of enjoying the slow process that taking care of our belongings is, leading to more reverence around everyday useful clothes and other textile pieces. I hope you enjoy,
    xx Ida

So inspirational! Thank you for encouraging me to think of my mending pile with less loathing and more interest. And I never thought of needle felting for knitwear repair. Clever you!

I definitely want to learn many different stitching techniques but just knowing the basics helped me a lot & somehow distinguished me from other kids at school 😅 Like I always carried a little sewing kit (perhaps not allowed in some countries/schools as needles can be seen as potentially dangerous? but I had no issue) just so that I can reattach a fallen button from a shirt or something right then and there, and my friends always looked at me in awe, which made me look at them in awe in return. So you guys would rather just wait until you get home to have your parents do these things...? I was just too impatient for that haha

I did enjoy watching this. I love your guinea pigs so cute. I need to probably mend some things as well. Never thought of felt and punching...have to give it a go.

Hey Ida! I'm going to Copenhagen this year. Do you have any textile or thrift stores recommendations? Museums are also appreciated :) Thanks!

being responsible and careful with belongings is important to me, but i became less sure of this when i noticed that not many people around me in real life see it as a norm. your video reminded me why mending all kinds of things is rewarding and overall great!!
