    I've heard the Can Am CVT is more prone to belt slippage/ wear than the ultramatic CVT in the Yamaha. Better to use low range more often, especially with the extra strain of "deep" snow and the tracks. I'm learning the ropes going from a Grizzly 550 to an Outlander 1000 myself.
    Great video as always cubeezx!

    WOO HOO !! The beginning in the trees is cool, however, that sugar snow sucks !! So, was the snow deep at the top of each side of that gully ?? How deep was it Cubbee !?!? HAHAHAHA !! Ah, CK needs to work on say'in "GRIZZLY !!"... HAHAHAHA !! That sure looks like it was a great day of riding guys !! Thanks for shar'in the Adventure !!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 лет назад

      GunnyE9 It was DEEEEEEEP Gunny! LOL CK is practising the "Grizzly" cry, but I've caught myself saying it too! That sugar snow is no fun...thankfully we didn't need to do any shovelling this ride. It was a great ride and good to get out! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

  • @quaddingsous
    @quaddingsous 10 лет назад +2

    I guess you'll have to say "OUTY"!!! from now on - :)
    Funny how your mic is hardly picking up any of your engine noise.
    That snow was quite "BOING" on that hydro line. lol
    I LMAO at "rammin' my boys . . . " and then I felt some empathy pain - Ouch!
    Fuel usage was interesting. What size are the Tanks on those two machines? Is the Grizzly's bigger?
    Lots'a fun! Thanx for sharin'!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 лет назад +1

      quaddingsous Yelling "Outy" so far just doesn't roll off my tongue...I guess yelling "Grizzly" for all those years has made it hard to change LOL The Grizzly is so loud with the 2R Racing Tip it drowns out any other noise...think we might have to remove that...our get a louder pipe for the Can Am! According to a 2015 buyers guide ...the Can Am has a 20.44 L tank (5.4 gallons-US I think as it is a US magazine) & the Grizzly has a 20.06 L (5.3) so only about a half litre difference! (Assuming they didn't change the size of the tank from a 2011 to 2015 Grizzly.) Thanks for stopping by and watching the ride in the "BOING" snow LOL.

  • @canesser1
    @canesser1 10 лет назад

    What a difference just over the hill in Dryden this year!? We've had only modest amonts of snow, very good going for the tracks but it's melting fast now. +14C on tap for tomorrow, will be sure and send it your way ;) The Grizz performed admirrably today pulling left over slash from our cutting area, 4-5 black spruce trees, put her in low and walk out. Too easy. Can't get over the power in that Gade!? Looks like CK is going to get a lot of practice saying "Grizzlaay" now. Gonna have to dig down deep for that one girl, right from the chest when you say it lol. You need a heated garage! Too difficult to clean them otherwise. How about a propane space heater from Princess Auto for the tarp garage, hang a tarp in entrance and let 'er rip for an hour or so?

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 лет назад

      Canesser We did end up with quite a bit of snow this year...it has taken a beating this past week though! +10 here today. Love ATV logging...so much fun pulling those big trees out. CK has been working on her Grizzlaay yell, and I still catch myself yelling it too LOL You can say that again...a heated garage is a dream of ours...cleaning them sucks. We do have a propane heater and we've tried..but doesn't really seem to get the ice off. Might have to invest in a BIGGER one LOL...we could go bigger! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video Canesser.

    How to keep snow from packing on the foot pegs? My grizzly will pack with snow making it hard to keep my feet from sliding off.

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 лет назад

      CorpseCallosum Our floor boards pack up with snow really bad too...when we get home it has usually turned to ice and we have to chip it off. We try and keep them as clean as we can when out riding, but pretty hard. They fill up fast! Maybe another viewer out there has a suggestion?

      any Caliber Glad my GRIZZLAAYY chant helped to brighten your day. It needs a lot of work though...not quite as 'mean' sounding as when Cubbee says it LOL The ATV's are geared down with the tracks on so they don't really lug, but top speed is about 35% less with the tracks on. Still a TON of fun though! Thanks for watching.

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  6 лет назад

    • @57Pad
      @57Pad 6 лет назад +1

      What tracks are you running
      I am thinking of getting a set of 360 LT FOR MY Commander 1000 don't know what one to get I have a set of sludge hammers on her they are good in the mud my last trip was 50 km of all open country 1/2 mud never got stuck
      Do you think the tracks would be better love watching your video keep it up
      love to see some of them places in the summer with the tracks on your ATV

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  6 лет назад

      We only use our tracks in the snow (although they are all season). Maybe some viewers out there have used them in the summer?

  • @magicinlayturbofan
    @magicinlayturbofan 9 лет назад

    Awesome! Those tracks really seem to make the engines work HARD. I don't think my little Arctic Cat 400 would be good for the tracks!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  9 лет назад

      Mike Hamel THanks! The tracks gear down the ATV's, but in deep snow they do use the power they have. The Kodiak 450 runs great with tracks, top speed of course is quite a bit less, but no issues when cruising around, exploring swamps LOL

    Just stumbled across your video today. Can you tell me how do you get your go pro to pick up the audio from both your sena mics at the same time? Also, what kind of camera mounts is that on the front of CK's helmet?

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  7 лет назад

      We use a "backpack" that SENA Makes that hooks to one of the Gopro's we use. This backpack records the audio from our conversations. Makes editing much easier! The mount on CK's helmet is "homemade"...here are a couple of videos we made about our Gopro mount ruclips.net/video/GUWGwTfWgfY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ZaGUByQ-QkM/видео.html

      Just wanted to let you guys know you inspired me to come up with a helmet mounting solution for my cams. And also, you guys make it look way easier than it is. Here's my trial run video, and the way my head is moving around you'd think I have epilepsy or something. I also need to work adjusting the camera angles too:

    Horsepower = Gasoline.....always shows at the pumps. Another great ride as usual. It's pretty impressive the amount of d**p snow that the tracks will go through. Are you sure the tracks that you thought were from snowshoes, weren't actually 'squatch tracks? I hear they have weird shaped feet.........

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 лет назад

      Boeing767Driver For sure...as CK always says.."it is what it is - drive it" LOL Those drifts were really D**P and the tracks powered through it...our snow is really sugary too so no traction. We'll have to go check out those tracks again..SQUATCH! Thanks for checking out the video.

    I noticed that you were unsure about using high or low to go through deep snow with the trax. From all the research and from everything I've heard, you should only use high gear on mild and flat ground. otherwise low gear is what you should be using especially during breakin and while in deep snow with trax on. low gear givsthe least stress on the clutches and powertrain. just sayin

    If your running snow, just use a sled, 4x4 on tracks are too slow. I want something fun. Yamaha

    • @JetSnake128
      @JetSnake128 8 лет назад

      Sleds sure are fun, I've put on many miles! I now have a Outlander with tracks. Yeah, it's a lot slower and it doesn't replace a snowmobile, but tracks on an ATV is a lot of fun!
