loving the breakdowns, Patrick! oh, if you right click the image in full screen you can select "show scopes" so you don't have to leave the full screen. cheers
So when you are describing the way that the light (around minute 8:00) wraps around to the kid's right cheek and eye area, you are able to achieve this type of effect by introducing some kind of a diffuser or are you relying more on the distance and the angle of the light source?
I've been listening to your podcast every once in awhile (not a big podcast guy) and I really liked it. Now your RUclips is something completely different. there are a thousand guys out there creatign content like this but you are way above them. I'm gonna enroll in your course now. Thank you!
BREAKDOWN REQUEST : the infamous "actress-looks-at-herself-in-a-mirror-shot", and the camera becomes the "pov" of the mirror. Kind of a meme in the commercial world, as is the doorway. Thanks a lot Wandering DP
Great video, but from the thumbnail I thought you were going to break down your set up! Would love to see a video on that and your workspace with some BTS footage.
Maybe on the shot of the kid unwrapping the painting with his back to the window the DP taped a white board to the back of the painting for some bounce?
Another great breakdown. Thank you so much for sharing your extensive knowledge and years of experience with all of us who take cinematography a *bit* more seriously.
@@wanderingdp another guy does them he mutes the audio unless you mean they don’t do well for views then if that’s the case ill re watch it over 1000 times
Hi mate. I bought your course the other day can’t wait to get in the ol noggin. so I have a question, I am a DOP and I’m slowly getting onto bigger budgets, i’m watching all these dark and moody scenes which look fabulous, but I know it introduces a lot of noise in camera, I’m only running a Sony FX9, and yes I know we can De-noise in post but things can get a little muddy unless you shoot raw I’m just wondering how low do we light these scenes when there is so much noise floor? , is a big part of it grading where we just bring down the mid-tones and highlights in grading,? so should I light these scenes normal with Contrast and soft highlights and avoid the waveform from clipping the very bottom?
Hi! I love your videos! Would you mind sharing how you record your youtube videos? Do you use OBS? USB Capture HDMI? how do you show the pen drawing on the screen? Thanks!
Might have been asked before but I only just found this channel (new sub here) how do you get such strong greens in your background without messing with the skin tone
Alright since it's December now I think it's time we get into some Christmas ads, and here's a doozy of one that just started screening around The Netherlands - ruclips.net/video/0ZCfJYgiddU/видео.html It's for a supermarket chain and it's got it all - dark cinematography, shot inside a bus, framework everywhere.
Hello, i have a few questions. 1. What gear do you use for shooting? 2. What are your export settings? 3. I did this after watching your tutorials: ruclips.net/video/c25vN0sbNPo/видео.html
I would definitely see a breakdown of The Boys S02 E02 from 3:00 to 4:00 scene. Its a basement with 2 colors, usual teal orange stuff but perfectly balanced.
Damn he got full screen on the first try.
and then DaVinci crashed...coincidence?
do you believe in miracles?

We need someone to do these breakdowns of the colorgrading too!!
I‘m really glad I found your channel. Great stuff to learn here, actually better than some lighting tutorials I bought.

Nice! Could you breakdown the commercial "Tesla, the silence between us"?
A camera slide from stairs into the master shot when he was seated would have been nice.
Going full screen went perfect this time :D Awesome tips as always!
you know its a good day when full screen works first try

Loving your channel! Is there a way to know the actual light used, sky panels, 18k's, etc?
I'm way more interested in your lighting setup for this episode. It's super moody 😍

Your videos are insanely helpful. Thank you so much! Wish RUclips recommended your channel to me earlier.
Could you explain that of the L of the room??? 😬😬😬😬 thankyou my friend!!!
Thank you so much Patrick, these videos are so incredibly educational.
1:29 wow u almost made a perfect outline on the lp's edge.
Head over to McDonald's Australia RUclips Channel to watch the ad. It's called "Macca's® Special Delivery."
Did you place flags next to you to keep any of the green lighting from bleeding onto you?
Would you ever do some music videos ? That would be crazy
youtube doesn't like music video breakdowns
