I actually love the scaling of things right now for PvE, I haven’t played much PvP, but I’ve seen some not so fun ways to die via exploitation and “broken” scaling while watching streamers. Not sure how I feel yet on PVP scaling since I haven’t had much exposer, but if I’m being honest I enjoy the more realistic feel that a laser kamehameha will destroy pretty much everything
I just did, and I am quite unhappy with the story telling of the game. With over 100hrs into the game and story fully complete, I am still unable to put together many parts of the story.
@@sar3388 story and lore are different things, the story is you are the MC working to becoming an elden lord meaning you know as much as you know during your adventure. Also you didn't beat the game.
19:45 its actually a pre-set spell, so Ranni just left the spell to protect her mother, so youre fighting a ""clone"" or something like that, but when Rennala just gives her rune for you, theres no reason to kill the real rennala
@@oddlyanas4200 To be honest...the gate entrance isn't that good anyway. Maybe for speedrunning to Godrick but you miss a lot of items and you're very likely to get pelted by ballista and arrows.
A thing I recommend to all new sorcerers is to find the magic turtle in the church of vows, then replace pebble with blade, enemies dodge you when you cast so they evade nothing and then get hit. With some baiting you can also bypass big shields. Update: For spicy spellblade gameplay, farm the glintstone blade swords carried by the Raya Lucaria swordmages (I do two for a gladiator style mage) . The pebble is much better than the spell in practicality and damage, it combos into a strong thrust and the swords themselves have minor stat requirements. It's one of my personal top weapons for sorcerer.
Its also very good for battles with ranged enemies if you have any cover, because you summon it above your head you can hit them but they cant hit you. Made Preceptor Miriam a joke

i just want to point out that the magic bow is actually incredibly good as an opener on unaware enemies, fully charged it's just about the largest single hit magic thing you can do.... on bosses though.... yeah, probably a pass.
Something I found out that everyone probably already knows is that the enemies that dodge all of your spells can’t dodge the magic glintblade spell because since the spell is delayed they will dodge the activation of the spell and not the projectile so when you cast it they will dodge but when it actually fires they won’t dodge and will get hit

Comet and Loretta’s great bow spells are actually amazing if you remember to fully charge them. Not to mention the origenal great bow spell can be dead aimed.
Honestly, don't care about the challenge. But seeing all the things you can do to enhance your sorcerer-playthrough is a real blessing. My sorcerer will benefit greatly from this guide. Thanks a lot!

I had my mage build at Radagon/Beast for so long and couldn't beat him with the spells and techniques that had helped me crush everything else up until then. I watched your strat and crushed them both in literally less than 3 minutes, first shot(I also had Tiche there). Awesome vid, big thanks.

FYI, Azur and Lusat's hats power up _all_ their spells, not just the Legendary ones. Azur hat buffs all spells with "comet" in the name, and Lusat hat buffs all spells with "stars" in the name.

PRAY TO BIG LASER! Good vid. Was very entertaining. I did first run with just the great sword. Been going through using spells and feeling way less restricted.
I've been doing a run of this and honestly I see now just the scale of why sorceries are being heralded as overpowered. The hardest part of the run thus far was just not having enough FP to finish fights, which can easily be remedied by a quick loop around the Atlas Plateau. Some parts like having to fight Loretta and Red Wolf with only the Carian Greatsword as a viable means of hitting the mark, or having to get the Night Maiden's Mist in order to bypass Rennala's magic resistance are standout moments that are making the run unique and thoughtful.
The moonblade spell is even more crazy if you maximize it, the different buffs seem to stack multiplicitively, so with snow witch hat, lusats and the carian glintstone staff, both grave talismans and the +magic damage but lower physical Talisman it deals 3k damage on the first cast of each combo if you hit with the blade part of it
When I was doing all remembrances using only Legendary items I had to do some of the bosses with spells. I did Radahn with Stars of Ruin only. Placidusax with Ranni’s Dark Moon, and Maliketh with the Founding Rain of Stars. Was honestly not bad despite how situational the spells can be.
You actually could just have picked up Rocksling. That is still a Sorcery, and deals physical Damage. That would have made it possible to go after Renalla earlier.
Swift glintstone shard can be used while at a faster speed on torrent. You can get the academy scroll and give it to the turtle at the church if vows in liurnia of the lakes. The scroll is near the first site of grace in a graveyard in Liurnia so it’s pretty quick to get and really useful for combat from torrent. It’s also really cheap fp wise.
I started out the game as a sorcerer build bc my friend wants to see it in action. The most cursed run that someone will find a way to do is to beat the game with that consumable you get from the ancestor spirit
Summons that use magic would be good, because some bosses are made to use summons and not using them is generally not as fun in those fights

I learned recently if you kill the sketchy commoner near the main gate you won't get locked in...because he's the one who closes it.
He also takes 30% of your runes when you die in the castle. A profitable kill.

Agree I always open with a bow shot if the enemy doesn’t see me. It has crazy range too
It's good against Radahn if you summon the meat shields and keep your distance
it also has an aoe so you can sniper enemies behind covers

The au is set to dodge on cast, so any spell that has a delay with homing will mess them up. Star Shower is excellent.

Rock Sling on horseback is actually really good for Radhan, since you can be faced away from him completely and the spell will still land
I played the game as a pure mage and it was a lot of fun I even got the platinum trophy
