Moses Garner you know I always see/hear different QOTSA fans here n there complain about JC’s drumming being way too fast & how bcos current drummer Jon Theodore doesn’t do that is 1 huge reason of why he’s so much greater & more talented of a drummer than Joey! I mean, if just 1/2 of these people knew their shit a lil’ better about Mr. Homme & QOTSA, they wouldn’t proclaim such ignorant remarks! JH runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to how the band sounds, performs, recorded etc etc. Not only that but also has it well known of how hard he pushes his drummers espcly more than any other instrument within the band. So it’s pretty much a guarantee that he either wanted or had no problem whatsoever w/Castillo’s speed. I mean, what (?) we’re talking about how many tours did JC play w/QOTSA... near about btwn 1/2 to under 3/4 of SFTD tour in 2002-03
      2005-06 Lullabies to Paralyze tour
      2007-08 Era Vulgaris tour
      2010-11 ‘self-titled’ anniversary tour.
That’s a lot of touring, an extreme amt of shows stretched thruout all those years at what seemed to be a very relentless pace. So if he wasn’t playing the way JH asked or wanted him to change his speed, don’t ‘cha think just maybe that he’d been replaced w/sum1 else?! I mean, hell... at the end of JC’s career w/QOTSA, it wasn’t Josh firing him or him leaving the band on bad terms or anything. From what’s always been known, it was announced that he stepped down from the position bcos he wanted to go elsewhere and/or do something else. He apparently was also wanting badly to take a lengthy break from the extensive relentless touring that Josh & the boys had not only done thruout that long period of time but were also gtng ready to start going right back into the studio to record another album & immediately after completion, they’d begin touring on that one as well but on a much more massive of a scale than any other tour thruout the band’s history (which knowingly became 2013’s megahit ...Like Clockwork). Btw, don’t get me wrong here... I like JT’s style w/the sticks as well. He’s a great drummer w/out any doubt whatsoever! Just irks me when I constantly see/hear ones go on about JC’s speed on the drums. 1 thing that I wish would’ve been part of just about every show of theirs back in the ‘Castillo era’ of QOTSA is gtng to see/hear JC have 1 or well, sometimes 2 different drum solos within the show like they’ve done w/JT over the last couple of tours during the middle of either/both trks Burn The Witch & Song For The Dead. JT does a great job each time he does it which has become just about every single show nowadays. I only remember maybe a few times here or there where we got to see/hear JC gtng to do something like that. Almost certain of the few or so times JC did one was during the middle of SFTD but never during Burn The Witch. Okey dokey, I’m done with my multi-chaptered rambling of a response!🤷🏻‍♂️🤘🏻🤔🙄🖤🖤🖤

Joey is the goat. He feels what's supposed to be happening and does it. No beef with Theodore but I liked Joey.
