I converted my 4th Gen 4Runner into a full time camper :) Has a pull out kitchen, big bed, closet with shelves, hood mounted solar panel, webasto heater, fridge/cooler, 100Ah battery, 95L roam case on the roof, 1Up hitch bike rack, and a few other cool things. I took out the rear seats as well, and took apart the side plastic panels and rebuilt them as they had a lot of dead empty space. So now its wider and can hold more storage. Im also going to build a table area so I can edit photos with more comfort.
Great video..Other ppl be like: I just bought a 4Runner, I live in Iowa, it's got 5 miles on it, but here's what I'm doing: 100" lift kit, -100 neg offset, I'm cutting the bumpers, I added this, I added that,.... now it doesn't look like a 4runner anymore...going off-roading is really a rare thing, so why spent that money for no reason..I understand doing all this crap if you live in Colorado and you know you'd be off-roading quite a bit.. for someone who won't do that, just keep things simple..these are built to perform reasonably well without all those mods.. I personally will keep it bone stock until I get the most use out of my stock tires, no lift business, cutting or drilling.. less is always more
Nice! Just picked up a GX460 for basically the same purpose. Your GFC is the exact model I'm looking at. I feel you with the "on the go" style. I'm getting tired of my studio.
I’m glad to see another photographer with a similar setup. Same tires. Only difference is a Luno bed inside. Falkens have been stellar from Gifford Pinchot in Washington to Gold Butte in Nevada. A perfect tire, really.
Cool minimalist build! Perfect for what you’re doing. I just moved to Montana in 2021, from Paso Robles, so I recognized the spots you were filming. I’m a photographer as well, and I will go to shows/festivals, and I’m lugging my lights, backdrops, vendor’s tent, and merch. So I’m picking a ‘24 4Runner this spring & slapping a rooftop tent on it. This might be the very best engine Toyota has ever made, and that’s saying something. I’ll be staying far away from the “new” engine, no need to deal with that. Good video, keep racking up the miles! I’ll look for your rig when I’m down in CA! ~ Rawhide ✌🏼🤠🤟🏼
So dope Sam. Love your 4 runner build. It looks super clean and I love the GFC camper. Low profile and easy to deploy. I'm slowly but surely building out my Ford Bronco for camping and shooting video in amazing locations. Thanks for sharing 🤙
Thanks for sharing. I'll check out the GFC. Had a Volkswagen Vanagon for 23 years I loved and was perfect for camping road trips. But now even old beat ones are priced off the charts. Been looking at Honda Elements which fit my budget more and last a long time. I'll have to see if the GFC would fit. I like the roof part which beats having to deal with a wet muddy tent when it rains. I know you'll enjoy your new equipment and take some great photos as usual.
Yep, those Falken Wildpeaks are fantastic for all road conditions. Had some on my FJ and slapping some on my 4Runner. Also, Kammok just released a super easy to set up awning with a built-in tensioner. Kinda pricey though but worth a look.
Hey! Thanks so much for your video! Looking to buy a 4Runner to get me to trailheads and droning spots, and probably also doing a roof tent with config! Was wondering which trim you got and why
Nice 4Runner! I really like my 200 series Landcruiser. If I built an off-road rig, I’d prob go with a Jeep Rubicon Gladiator. Can’t wait until electric engines take over.
Throughout the video, can't stop myself from thinking, how tall are you? The 4runner looks small beside you. This build is not flashy and I guess that's the most essential when you drive into unknown destinations to be stealthy
Good and informative video. Perfect timing for me as I'm into photography and am looking into getting a 4Runner. I gotta say though, first time I've heard anyone say positive things about the gas mileage on a 4Runner 😂

Loving the content even if not directly related to photography. Inspirational as always my guy

Love the GX 👌🏽 nice choice

Definitely took major inspiration from this video for my build. Very minimal but practical !
I love my 4Runner but I’ve literally never heard anyone say better gas mileage when it comes to one 😂 that was a first. Enjoy!

I just love the feeling you create around your photography and trips into nature. You have such a pleasantly calm approach.
4Runners and cameras my two favorite things in the world haha

Agreed
Heck yeah. Can't have enough modified black 4Runners! There is definitely a rabbit hole. But it's fun down here.

i am excited to see your transition away from making cameras the centerpoint of your videos to making it a tool to tell the story of your adventures!
Been waiting for this video! Killer adventure rig man. 🤘🏻
Thanks dude - I love it

This is dope happy to hear on the new direction of the channel can’t wait to see all the adventures
4Runners are still made in Japan, that's why they're so awesome. Love my 4Runner.
1up if you're looking for the best bike rack. They're modular too, so you can always add extra bike trays later down the road.

I admire your simplicity
Love this type of video. Sick and simplistic setup!
Nice, congrats on the car! I’ve been wanting a TRD Pro for a few years now.
Nice setup
Nice to see some different content from you!
Are you using the original cross bars for the roof top tent?
Great video. Really enjoyed it
Alright man. You are good. You know how to do a video , especially with story telling. What year/version is your 4runner?
Awesome build!
Wish they had these modern 4Runners in Australia - soooo sick.
legit dude. we have the fortuner which seems similar?
