    Hey I'm looking at buying my first Jeep. I've only been considering TJ's with a manual transmission to avoid some automatic transmission problems. How has your automatic held up? and how many miles are on your TJ?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Jonah, unfortunately Ryan isn't in today but I'll make sure to ask him when he is and get back to you with an answer! Manual transmissions are known to be more reliable and easier to work on then automatic transmissions. Although I have seen plenty of 4.0L Jeeps go well over 200K with the original automatic trans. -Jake

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 года назад

      I would highly recommend purchasing an adjustable front track bar for a 4" lift kit to ensure your front axle stays nice and centered. You may want to look into a rear adjustable track bar or track bar bracket if the kit you purchased does not have one, either. -Zach

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 года назад

      Depending on how inclusive your lift kit is, you may want to look into some extra parts to add-on to your Jeep. Cheaper lift kits tend to just include springs and shocks, with a couple other smaller components. I'd highly recommend looking into a full set of 8 adjustable control arms and a front adjustable track bar. Both of those pieces if you don't already have them will do a *ton* to correct your suspension geometry and smooth your ride a bit. If your shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, spring isolators, or any other bushings on your Jeep are worn you should look into replacing them as well. Hope this helps! -Zach

      Chris Fuscooo he has the 3 speed 32rh. it is a much more stout and robust trans than the 4 speed 42rle. it doesn't have the over heating problems that the 4 speed does. however, a cooler is still a nice mod to have.

    How bad the mileage becames with the 35" tires?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 года назад +1

      35's are definitely going to drop the gas mileage on your Wrangler, sadly. If you're looking to save as many gallons as possible but still fit a larger tire, I'd recommend sticking with 31s or 33s. -Zach

    What the fuck kind of glass axles do american cars come with if they explode with tiny 35 inch wheels?

    • @myheroisme09
      @myheroisme09 7 лет назад +1

      gullf1sk the low pinion 30 should be OK with the 35 inch tires but the lower trimmed tjs came with a d35 which is fine as long as it's open with a 35 inch tire as long as you wheel it with respect then they are bad about breaking the ring gear. later models of the tj and the tj rubicon came with a d44 they are a huge upgrade. I'm still running my d35 with a true track lsd on 36s and it's holding up ok but it's always in the back of my head when I'm on the trail and in the junkyards when I pass a v8 Explorer with an 8.8 lol
