- Rathdrum Trout Anglers Club hosted the TAFI All Ireland Masters Fly Fishing Competition 2019 on the River Avonmore in Rathdrum Co. Wicklow, Ireland, on the 17th of August 2019.
Thanks to all the Anglers, Controllers, land owners and anyone else who contributed to the competition.

Thanks John, glad you liked the vid, there's good fish in the river, some small and under the size limit to be counted for the comp but I was controlling for the competition so everytime the angler caught fish I had to put down the camera to measure them so afraid I couldn't get any of the fish on camera. But tis a great club to join if you're interested! All the best

@@johncarrigan9352 There's a Rathdrum Anglers facebook page that has membership forms downloadable from it, great club for competitions when the pandemic is over!
Avid young fisherman here, how does one beginning to participate in these comp?
Hi Conal. If you join a TAFI affiliated fishing club anywhere in the country you'll be able to compete in the TAFI competitions (dependingon club selection processes, some clubs send club competition winners, others might send whoever wants to compete from the club). TAFI competitions are advertised on the TAFI Facebook page and also on other fishing club pages. Through your club secretary you can sign up to the provincial comps and they will be able to get all the details sent out to you. Our club Rathdrum Anglers is a great one to join and we are always encouraging our members to take part in as many TAFI comps as possible. Hope that helps? Who do you get a fishing permit from? and whats the fee?
Hi John, day permits for €5 can be purchased in the local Centra or using Paypal through the Rathdrum club, details available on the Rathdrum Trout Anglers facebook page, membership is also available to the club for €35.
@@ColmMullally Thank you very much for your quick reply, one more question Colm, will that permit cover Wooden bridge or do i need another permit for down there?
@@johnkenny694 No bothers John, I think the Woodenbridge waters are covered by the Aughrim Club, but I'm not 100% sure

@@johnkenny694 it surely is John. There are some beautiful stretches that aren't in the video and the club is very friendly for new members and competitions all year round.
