Sia said "I’ve always been obsessed with the beauty of Sign Language. The movement and expression appears as a dance - a beautiful, emotive dance. But the real beauty is the communication hidden within these perfect shapes." Some sources suggest that Sia also used Sign Language because this song is about an ex-boyfriend who is deaf and wanted he to understand what she was saying. Peace out.
He died under the wheels of a London Black Taxi. He tried to get in and the driver thought he was intoxicated and tried to drive away.He fell and somehow landed up under the back wheel.
Rolling Stone actually ranked Sia as #2 in the 50 greatest Australian artists of ALL Time only behind ACDC. Sia is such a great singer I would love to see more of her on your channel, you've got yourself a subscriber! I personally recommend reacting to her live performance of Distractions on KCRW 2007, Somersault on KCRW 2008, Etc.... she's just a brilliant artist whose discography is IMPECCABLE.
Aussie artists to go worldwide: AC/DC, INXS, Kylie Minogue, Bee Gees, Little River Band, Crowded House (NZ), Savage Garden, Easy Beats, Silverchair, Keith Urban, Sia, Helen Reddy, 5SOS, Men At Work, Air Supply, Olivia Newton John and i am sure many more.
The Seekers... Rick Springfield... Rose Tattoo... Midnight Oil... The Church... Nick Cave... Natalie Imbruglia... Gotye... Wolfmother... Tame Impala... Courtney Barnett... Flume... Iggy Azalea...
Did you know that she wrote so many great hits for different famous artists like “Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Shakira, Beyonce, Adele, Lady Gaga…etc” and they refused some of her songs.. so what she did was to create an album from those rejected songs called “ This Is Acting” and it went Viral Massively.. It will be great if you react the whole album 😊

SIA is great. 🌟 💖 The first ever Australian breakout artist was the Easybeats ‘Friday on my Mind’ - but don’t forget the Seekers, they made it in Britain before any rock or pop artists did.
Adore Sia!! She has so many AWESOME songs!!! Dusk till dawn with Zayn, Bird set free, Never give up, Move your body, The greatest, Angel by the wings, Alive and Unstoppable 👌♥️

Insightful reaction to a truly outstanding performance by the incomparable SIA🙂👍 I would recommend viewing SIA's "Alive" and "Breath Me" performances too -- they are SIA outstanding!!
@thatsingerreacts you ask a good question if Sia is our biggest export. There is a lot of competition there. Australia’s biggest acts (internationally). Bands: AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Bee Gees, INXS, Men at Work, Savage Garden, Little River Band, The Seekers, Air Supply. Solo artists: Keith Urban, Sia, Rick Springfield, Iggy Azalea, Vance Joy, Olivia Newton John, Kylie Minogue, Helen Reddy, Johnny O’Keefe.
Sia, another export from Adelaide, South Australia. The reaction to this song with the hilltop hoods reactions are brilliant. And I've got to say that the little sleepy town of Adelaide punches well above it's weight in many other ways, but the people make it special.
that whole album is a triumph. She was't well known globally then. If you go and listen to her back catalogue she will continue to impress you. She is also such a go to singer for soundtracks, she features on so many!
@@julierussell8876 She wrote my favourite song from the Burlesque movie with Christina Aguilera, Bound To You and I saw recently in the credits of Zootopia that Sia also wrote Shakira's Try Everything song in that movie! An amazing talent indeed! 😁
Thank you for reacting again to Sia! Subscribed! For future Sia reactions I suggest Alive - live at Graham Norton (her new era) and Somersault live at KCRW 2008 (her old era). Mindblowing vocals!!!
The crazy thing about this performance of this song is that she's holding back A LOT vocally. There is a performance of this song at Camp Krim, and she reduces a small room full of people to a sobbing mess with the sheer power of her voice. It's not the best quality video since it's pretty old, but it's still worth watching. It made me fall in love with this song.
Wow man, I've been following you for a while and this is great, I've been friends with Furler for almost 40 years. She was fun in doses back in the day, but some people just have that spark that has almost a figurative aura that you can see from a mile away. Her career has been hands off, just let me sing so I can get back to my dogs and snuggle and write a hit song in 10 minutes. Whatever works I guess :)
Love Sia, but remember Helen Reddy, Olivia Newton John, Peter Allen, Kylie, ACDC, INXS, Silver Chair, Little River Band, Savage Garden, Keith Urban, Gotye to name some. A lot of Aussie singers have done well in the UK and internationally but not in the USA. Tina Arena lived in France and made it big in Europe. I just can’t believe Guy Sebastian isn’t known in the USA. He writes phenomenal songs and is one of the best singers on the planet. Go figure!
Another one of her songs that is criminally under rated from earlier in her career is Lullaby, it was used on the hit show The Big C highly recommend watching the clip on youtube though bring tissues it's a tearjerker. Also recommend checking out the group Zero 7 which she was heavily involved with tracks, Destiny, Distractions and Somersault are just a few of the dozen or so tracks she is featured on, it's also worth checking out their song Waiting Line.
Don't forget about Kylie Minogue. I'm sure she's first big Australian singer. Her remake "Loco-Motion" came out in 1987. One of the First CDs I ever owned
There’s actually a lot of Australian singers and bands that are super well known. AC/DC, Olivia Newton John, INXS, Men at Work, Keith Urban just to name a few.
Um some who made it overseas AC/DC, INXS, Bee Gees, Keith Urban, Rick Springfield, Little River Band, Men at Work, Iggy Azalea, Air Supply, Natalie Imbruglia, Olivia Newton John, Kylie Minogue, Divinyls, Helen Reddy, Savage Garden, Crowded House, Tina Arena, The Seekers, The Veronicas just name a few peace out.
Yeah I think in recent years she’s probably the most recognisable on the radio all over the world but KYLIE is probably the most popular female artist everywhere besides USA, because she’s been doing it since the 80’s.
4:43 That all depends on what kind of music you're mostly listening to.😄 Sia has definitely very powerful voice; moreover lots of "hits" of other artists were actually composed by her (like some of Rihanna's songs). I love this particular song AND this particular performance, too. I'm from Poland, and for me the most renowned australian band will always be Dead Can Dance, simply because it had a major impact on my personal, musical taste. Brendan Perry from DCD is british, but Lisa Gerrard is australian, and the band was formed in Melbourne. Lisa has a contralto voice in three octave range; it's hard for me to find other female singers, who would "stack up" to her. And there's a good chance you've already heard DCD's or Lisa's music many times, you may just don't know it... One of the most beautiful DCD's songs, "Host of Seraphim" can be heard at the end of "The Mist" film (2007 version, with Thomas Jane). Lisa also recorded the whole OST album with Hans Zimmer for "The Gladiator" (2000, with Russell Crowe), as well as for other films (like the "Whale RIder"). Right there with DCD, there's another australian artist, who influenced me a lot - Nick Cave. But there's of course a lot of others (like INXS or Midnight Oil).
Probably the first really big modern female star from Australia was Alivia Newton-John, she became famous in 1978 when Grease (the movie) came out and she had a string of hits following that, she's a great loss and is missed greatly
Awesome intro - very swish! Love this performance (I had requested it as well via paypal so another one to cross off the list Nick 😂😂) Helen and I seem to have similar taste! I would agree Sia would have to be our biggest female artist known internationally in more recent years - obviously if you go further back there's AC/DC, INXS, Bee Gees, Olivia Newton John, Crowded House, and Kylie Minogue to a slightly lesser degree.
I love how Dave introduced her like "whatever", then hears that and is clearly blown away. Like we all were. Then gives her the big ups.
