Thank you Doc, i'm french and as a french lady, I 'm well aware of the importance of perfumery in our society. I am a fragrance lover. BUT, I decided to cut off all unnecessary fragrances in my house , hygiene products, skin care, laundries products, cleaning products. I just authorize myself to put a bit of eau de parfum on events ( night out, or party). I hope it's okay. Because totally renounce about the pleasure it brings , also is sad. I think everything should be moderation. Still, I also know that unfortunately, fragrance wise, it is not the the quantity that matters, because hormone disruptors do their job at the lowest quantity in ou bodies.

I got sick 2 weeks ago, so i would fall asleep on the couch. I am currently staying at my moms, and it was strange, but i was hardly caughing, but i felt hazzy and out of it and very sleepy. Im over the cold now, but im still trying to figure out why i feel out of it. I usually run and stay very active. My mom has a lot of plug ins that are strong, and there is one litterally 2 feet from where I've been sleeping at the lever where i put my head on couch its at the same height. And it just dawned on me it must be the plug in that is making me sick, so i just unplugged them. And thats why i started to research if they are toxic and saw your video. I will make sure to tell my mom becouse she has a lot of breathing problems. I was starting to worry why i felt so bad the past two weeks and was really starting to worry. Thank you!!!

Im so glad you are sharing this. I developed a fragrance allergy 5 years ago + its ruined my life. I cant keep a job even in healthcare as my allergy is not honored + I cant find a job as soon as I disclose my allergy. I need yo pay my bills but this is getting in the way. My lungs literally close when im exposed + even if I communicate it its not respected.

Thank you brother! I figured this out after years of constant Bronchitis and episodes of shortness of breath that could last for a couple days! It was all related to exactly what you are talking about! Once I stopped using “air fresheners” completely…all those issues diminished and completely went away within a month! I’ve been “fragrance free” for 5 years now! I went into a salon the other day and I guess one of the workers brings their dog into work everyday with them…the overwhelming scent of some kind of “air freshener” hit me as soon as I opened the door! I couldn’t stay in there for 2 mins. it was so strong and debilitating…I felt so bad for that poor dog! Their sense of smell is 50 to 100 times ours!!! I sure he was in “scented hell!” Thank you for informing everyone about this…it’s an epidemic!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this as I removed all fragrances from from home years ago and cannot go to my local church for years now because as you said it's full of fragrances. I attend online church services now for over a year. Hair spray, shampoo, lotions including fabric softeners and washing detergents the list goes on are full of chemicals. I will definitely be sharing this post which will help support everything I have been telling my family. God bless you richly.

My bosses won't make fellow employees get rid of the plug ins. I even gave them a doctors note that I cannot tolerate them. Migraines, increased heart rate and nausea etc. I think they find it humorous that it makes me sick. In fact they went out and bought more. It's so upsetting.

My 3 previous workplaces which were in healthcare, in dental offices, dismissed + not accomodated, the dentist in 1 office said "we don't want to offend people by asking them to refrain from wearing fragranced products". I was gaslit + told to just take an allergy + shut up about it. The most recent dental office i worked at in Ontario Canada said "we cant ask them not to wear brcause its their lifestyle". The offices I've applied to work at have essentially discriminated against me saying we cant sccomodate you. Ive eached out to Health Canada, Ontario Tribunal, Ontario Health + Safety + the doors been get again slammed in my face. I was denied EI too so no income coming in.

I’d love to help you understand and I completely validate your suspicions. I suffered for years with chemical sensitivities. Seen by others as crazy or I’m just making it up was more or less everyone’s response to what I was experiencing and suffering with. I was sensitive and still am to a much lesser degree. Car air fresheners were and still are a trigger for me. I could easily get a migraine just walking past a car with those hanging air freshers in the car. It was way worse and hell on earth. Nearly 4 years ago I found answers in the Medical Medium books series by Anthony Williams. I’ve been working on my healing on and off but very committed over the last years and the healing results is miraculous.
You should check out his books called Brain Saver as he talked about all these hidden dangers and life shorteners and how to heal and protect yourself.

Wow I was unaware of the issues until I had irregularities and hormone issues. I always wear perfumes, boost my laundry and diffuse aroma blends and air fresheners. I love fragrance and I literally just turned my diffuser off bc I kept sneezing! I put up with it bc I think I’m addicted to fragrance. I need to re-evaluate some lifestyle choices for sure. Would essential oils be ok? I love lavender and vanilla in small amounts. I can cut back but I swear I’m like actually addicted to fragrance. They really bring me feelings of euphoria and joy which to me seems like addiction.

Definitely better than the artificial stuff but with consistent use often promotes allergic response.

After years of having no scents in my home, I can smell the neighbor’s dryer sheets from down the street!
The olfactory bulb is a delicate organ that can get overwhelmed. Once you give it a break from artificial assaults, it’s incredible what you notice.

It isn't the *synthetic-ness* of a fragrance that causes adverse responses. They're only molecules - like everyhing else.
Individual sensitivity and dosage predict response. There is all manner of natural fragrances that are objectively physically toxic - carcinogenic, mutagenic, irritating to skin, lung and mucosal tissue. Fragrance is one of the most closely regulated component of consumer products. Even if fragrance is not added to a product, everything has a smell.
