I thought watching one person make a moss pole was like all the others. I was completely wrong, your the only person to tell us not to pack it in so the roots can go thru it easy. Great advice
I'm not sure it would have occurred to me to turn the cable tie inward until after it caused damage! Thank you for the timestamp so I can easily share it!
Due to your wonderful tips & presentations, my plants are doing extremely well!! Some of them are now growing taller & past the moss pole that they are in. I really don't want to extend the moss poles.....what are my options? If I cut the plant off at the top, will it become bushier and larger at the bottom? Thank you for all you so.....for all of us!!!
😯🙌💖Great! I don't have a moss pole, And I'm going to try making one👍My concern is that my wife doesn't go nuts at me for this😅, but I really want my lemon lime pothos to have some large beautiful leaves
Hello, fantastic info. Can I ask I have read that moss poles encourage gnat flies as the moss pole is always damp is this correct? I use soil rather than leca atm. I am considering leca after seeing your videos.
Thank you. I am want to say that the gnats are thriving in the soil and not the moss pole. I do not have any gnats at all ndI have over 30 moss poles. Maybe leca might be worth a try.
Hello friend I’m going to ask you what kind of mesh you used is that metal or plastic your plants collection are gorgeous thanks 🙏 for sharing keep safe and connected ❤️
Hi ! Thanks for that video ! I just wonder cause you don't do it on this one, but do you put a... "plastic rod" inside your other mosspole to make them stand in your pots? i don't grow plants in leca, but in soil ,and i'd like to make some moss pole, but i'm not sure yet how to "plant" them in pots.... thanks !
I don't put the rod inside the pole. I always put it outside because it would be difficult to disentangle the roots when Chopping the plant when it is huge.
Thank you for the step by step video. It helped a lot. I do wonder though, if I am using plastic wire because I just want a round pole, how often should I fertilize the moss? Also, when chopping the top of a large plant with the moss pole, how far in the base of the mesh wore should I have soil into?
You are very welcome. Check out the answers in these videos they might help. Could you clarify your question for me I am not sure I understand what you mean. ruclips.net/video/iJEHXxg8dqE/видео.html
@@TheLecaQueen I have often heard that if I water the moss pole, I should also fertilize it for the ariel roots. Also, a lot of times, our large babies get so big that we g=can literally chop the plant and its pole in half but, the base of the mesh should be filled with soil so the roots can just be planted right away into the new pot.
The one with the plastic back helps keep the moss moist for longer and directs the roots down and I think looks nice. It is a matter of preference, they both do the same thing.
@@TheLecaQueen I liked the video last week. My all plants are in leca thanks to you. I’m a little bit struggle 😅 about roots rot but I’m trying put of the plants, cleaning and put in again clean leca. I don’t want to have time for moss. But I’ll try. If I can find clean and cheap firn in Istanbul 😅 can you give me the video which how can I wash very vell leca from ex root rot. I love you thank you so much Queen ❣️
I'm a rookie, and followig this fantastic video, I made my first moss pole for my Monstera. Now, because I was giving the pole later in its life, I couldn't put it straight up, but the pole had to be tilted a bit, and I didn't want to repot the entirety. Then I flip a water bottle upside down to test out watering, and guess what? It dripped straight down to the floor and because it was tilted, it created a big watery mess 🤣🤣🤣 Because the moss is so absorbant, I didn't think the water would sip out, but it did. So, rookies out there, make sure your pole is straight.
@@TheLecaQueen I have. I've also tried office supply stores. Basically no one here knows what it is. I was able to find some kind of plastic sheet that's used as a template in quilting that may work though.

What are you potting up the plant in? I came from reddit and watched both of your awesome videos on these poles. I can't understand what you are saying you pot your plant in and you mentioned it in both videos. "Because I'm potting this pot up in ----" @5:47
Hello, you can use anything that a plant can grow in basically. You can even use chunky potting mix inyour pole. All that is neededis something that aplant can root in and away it goes.
I water it with the fertiliser solution that I use for my leca. Or if you are using soil, whatever you use. The idea is to keep the pole moist and with fertiliser so the roots living in the moss have access to nutrients and water. Thanks for the question.
Thank you for the info! I will definitely be trying this!! (And .. your nails look beautiful! I love the color you have on!!) 💗🙌🪴

Hi if you don’t mind me asking what brand sphagnum moss do you use l Absolutely Love your Channel
I don't, not at all. It is called Brunnings Sphagnum moss. It comes in 150g and 500g.
Could you show us how you insert them into your pots and get them to stand up?
Sure, take a look at this playlist

What would be the difference between using this pole rather than one with the plastic backing you've shown us elsewhere?

Any advice on where else to find the polypropylene sheet? Or an alternative? I'm in the States and am having a difficult time finding it.
I got cutting boards from the dollar tree. 11x14. But for not they’ll have to do🤷🏽♀️

do you attach the vines of the plant to the moss pole itself with velcro or does it naturally just lay on top of it?

I do not use soil for the majority of my plants. I use clay balls or leca. So in the video I am saying leca.
I believe she says she's planting it in leca/LECA, which stands for lightweight expanded clay aggregate. Hope this helps! :)

What if I use leca insted of moss?
You can use leca. You just need to keep the leca moist.

What a compliment, thank you.
Is this a plastic or metal mesh
Plastic coated metal mesh.
Where do you get the moss, is it sea moss.
It is Spaghnum moss and I get it from local stores here in Australia. Sold online too.
I know that weight is not the right way to measure this guy approximately how many grams of dry sphaghnum moss does it take to make one 90cm pole?
I don't know but I will find out! I will keep you posted.

Have you noticed any mold with your moss
Very rarelydo I see moss,it can happen though.
the metal dont get rusty ???
It is coated with plastic so no.
